  1. im currently using the 8v engine but i feel like a project. does anyone know how easy it would be to bolt the 16v head from the fabia, polo or other similar cars. would i be able to use the existing ECU and wiring loom along with the clocks? would the gearbox need upgrading aswell to cope with the slight increase in power? any other items which i may of overlooked in this post. any help would be greatly appreciated.
  2. i know that it has been on a previous thread, but how do i get rid of the problem where the ECU cuts the throttle when the brake pedal is pressed at the same time. i read somewhere that it was just 2 wires. where are they and what do i do with them? thanks for any help
  3. what about just changing the rears would it be worth playing around, if i can get them at a cheap enough price? thanks for the explanation
  4. do you mean that it will be to hard for the weight of the car? please explain K and Zeta its terms im not familier with
  5. trust me, its happened so many times you cant do one without the other plus i live and go to uni around the country side so the bumps would make it reach the stops. ive managed to scrape my sump before going at 40
  6. the thing with dropping it that far is that you will reach the bump stops and in theory bottom out the car which starts to become incredibly dangerous, so to lower it, the car NEEDS the shorter struts which starts at about £400. surely the VRS ones are slighty harder spring rate, which is what im after, if i measure the unloaded spring on both sets and see if there is any difference? then would it just be a straight swap or is there different top mount holes etc.
  7. it was just a quick though seen as i may be able to get the fronts and backs for about £50
  8. I have access to Fabia VRS suspension and i was wondering if it would be a straight swap to fit on my 1.4mpi. i was just wondering as it may come cheap, but if it was worth it.
  9. have a check on this website for the tyre size difference AlloyBoy
  10. the rolling radius is +14mm which equates to 2.39% bigger size, people recommend no more than +-2.5%. plus the speedo is always reading more than you are doing so i would be taking that margin of error out slightly.
  11. i need some alloy wheels to go on my fabia but i dont know which ones to have i quite like the look of the VW golf montreal 2 wheels, i guess these will fit, the tyres that i would put on would be 195/50/16 does anyone have any other ideas for wheels? ideally i want them in an antracite grey colour because my car is candy white.
  12. it shouldnt be too dificult im very handy with a spanner and it doesnt look past my ability. i just hope theres a cheaper option than replacing the rear beam
  13. thanks, i just really need to know what bits to use and if i can just use the original cable leading to the callipers
