  1. Wooh, you look away for an hour and there's another dozen posts! Wasn't expecting a question about sunroofs to generate so much interest Really nice to see that people take the time to answer though, thanks everyone Mike
  2. Thanks Auric, much appreciated. Must be me going mad then Still think its a bit odd you can see some of the blind behind the brushed ally bar though, never noticed it before... Anyway, thanks for the prompt reply, all I've got to do now is ring the dealer and let them know I got it wrong Mike
  3. Mine's a hatchback. Either I'm going mad or there's something different. Incidentally the photo was taken with a flash, the headlining is black, but it looks a bit grey in the photo. Thanks for looking Mike
  4. Hi, I booked my vRS into the dealers because the sunroof was rattling like crazy. I've got the car back and the rattle's been fixed, but I think they've forgotten to put a bit of trim back? As soon as I got back in the car, the sunroof somehow looks different. The bar at the front of the sun blind is now brushed ally, but I could have sworn it was black? Also, with the blind fully retracted, you can still see part of blind behind the bar (the bit with the sunblind handle). See attached photo. Please could you take a look at your sunroof/blind and see if it's the same as mine? The mechanic doesn't remember removing any trim and all he did was "lubricate the mechanism" Thanks, Mike
  5. Had my thermostat housing replaced under warranty. Same symptoms as Adenuf, low coolant warning came on, topped it up. All appeared to be ok, but coolant dropped VERY slowly over a month or 2. Dealer pressure tested system and found a very slight leak from thermostat housing. Been ok since it was replaced.
  6. Looking back at my old posts, It's roughly a year ago since I cleaned my screen with meths and it hasn't played up since. I try and remember to clean it every few months.
  7. Incidentally, my screen played up when it was cold and/or damp. It would change radio channels at random, not respond to screen presses etc. Whilst cleaning it, I realised here was a film of grease across the entire screen, but you don't really notice it until you give it a good clean.
  8. Meths worked fine on my screen. Just put a few drops on a piece of kitchen roll, wipe the screen, then wipe it off with a dry piece of kitchen roll. You'll probably need to repeat this a few times to get the screen completely clean. Didn't damage my screen at all, but it did completely stop the problems I was getting, with the screen having a mind of it's own. Mike
  9. Ditto Paulius55, I use ReadItToMe as well. Works well, you'll probably need to select "use notification stream" in the profile settings though. I've got an 2015 Octavia 3 vrs with Columbus. Also works in my wife's 2012 Golf.
  10. If you've got a Sony Z5, try the "ReadItToMe" app. You need to turn on "support for older Bluetooth devices" ( or something like that) in the settings to get it working, but it will read out texts fairly well. Works fine on my 2015 Octavia Vrs with Colombus. It's the only thing I could find that would read texts. Also I think it works with WhatsApp etc.
  11. Just for info, my Colombus screen was playing up when it was cold or damp (changing channels by itself etc). I cleaned the touch screen with some methylated spirits several months ago and it's behaved perfectly since. Whilst cleaning it, I noticed there was a film of grease (or whatever) over the entire screen. Not really obvious until you start cleaning it though. I got 2 bits of kitchen roll, a few drops of meths on one piece, wipe it over the screen, then clean it off with the other piece. Screen looked MUCH cleaner after! Just as a warning, meths is highly flammable and burns with an invisible flame, so be careful. Mike
  12. Hi, have a look on https://www.samknows.com/broadband/broadband . If you do a broadband availability check, it'll tell you what other LLU Operators are available for your line BTW - LLU Operator means what other companies (Sky, aol, Plusnet, etc) have their own broadband kit in your local telephone exchange Mike
  13. Hi, They're exactly the same as the photos in post #87 in this thread. I think it was adjusting the one's on the side of the hatch opening, that made the difference. Also unscrewing the stoppers (in the bottom edge of the hatch) an extra turn, meant it didn't shut properly, so I guess this adjustment is pretty sensitive.
