  1. Unfortunately the misses just filled our VRS PD with petrol. We're going away for the weekend so can't do anything till Monday. Has anyone got any advice before I contact Skoda!? Is it as serious a job as people say? Thanks in advance Paul
  2. we maybe even had a dilemma rather than a dilmer!
  3. We recently had exactly the same dilemer. Just yesterday we picked up our Jan 08 VRS PD estate with 4kon the ****! We traded our T(99) reg 1.8T A4 estate. After test driving A4s, A6's and both CR and PD VRSs we decided the car above was by far the best for our £12k budget plus £700 trade in. We were looking at 55 reg A4 Avants with 30k on the clock, and almost bought an S-Line A6 Avant until we test drove it - quite literally the slowest car i've ever driven since my Pug 309 GRD!!... Go test drive all the options and then buy a VRS!
  4. http://www.monkeyit.co.uk/llsc/new/assets/wyl.jpg picked the car up from skoda liverpool yesterday afternoon. absolutely over the moon with it!
  5. thanks for the info bahnstromer. infact the misses likes the idea!! picking the car up this weekend, will spend a few weeks settling in and then look into the remap. i've also asked the dealer to sort 26e6 and sensor stuff. superchips obviously the way to go! cheers guys
  6. that's an impressive MPG increase. what remap do you have?
  7. I've just been looking at Evolution Chips. They guarantee better MPG!? even quote up to 20% increase. A less optimistic 10% would quickly pay for the cost of the remap (£380) without considering all the other advantages.. Decisions decisions

  9. http://www.monkeyit.co.uk/llsc/new/assets/skoda.jpg done a bit of photoshoping for you!
  10. A week today we are picking up our 57 reg PD170 estate! I'm thinking about a Superchips remap. I've read most of the posts on here however many of them are old which got me wondering how is the remap to love with? Any increases in MPG? More importantly will this void my warranty and how more expensive can I expect to pay for insurance!? Also any long term issues and is the DPF thing sorted (whatever that is!!). Obviously the misses, who will probably drive the car more than me will take some convincing! Apologies for all he questions! Paul
  11. Thanks for everyones help last week. All questions and queries answered! Today we put a deposit down on a Jan 08 VRS TDI with 6k on the clock! Apparently it's got a jumbo box - is that the centre arm rest box with ipod/aux connectivity? Looking forward to having the pace of the A4 1.8T we are replacing and 40 rather than 25-30 MPGs! Should be ready for the weekend!
  12. hi, a skoda dealer reckons an octavia vrs estate doesn't have a wiring loom (???) and is therefore a huge job to fit a tow bar? hence the £400 charge for a fixed tow ball tow bar indespension uk, who i've used to fit tow bars before reckon that's b****x and can fit the same tow bar for £190. he said the tow bar is wired to the back lights, which is what i've done in the past when fitting tow bars. can anyone clarify if the dealer is talking rubbish? paul
  13. looks like we'll need £12k if we go for a cr. Skoda Octavia 2.0 TDI CR vRS 5-Dr Estate
