Picked up the new Dad Wagon yesterday, 6hours on a train followed by 6hours drive home (15minute break in hamilton) first impressions are good. well put together, the 1.4TSI engine is very smooth and quite poky. it felt very well planted well into 3 figures. seats are comfy, stereo is excellent ( the dulcet tones of Chuck D and Public Enemy are spot on) Simpsons SKoda and Tom Whittle in particular were excellent, great service and no messing around. i was in and out in about 30mins. fuel economy in the mid-30s at sensible speed, mid 20s at not-so-sensible speed. and most importantly, the kids love it.

after a weekend of drunken tomfoolery, I am finally off to Preston on Wednesday for my yeti. 6 1/2 hours on a train, 3miles in a taxi and it'll be mne 2 days of work need to fly quicker.

Lee, Sadly no, i ordered the 29th of February, PCH through Simpsons skoda. so 15weeks of waiting Final finance / rental agreement documentation. My issue is that i'm in Aberdeen, so communication has been via email / phonecalls. I need to confirm a collection day, book train tickets and book a day off work at short notice. all things I could do without.

paperwork through from Simpsons, signed and emailed back, going to post a copy recorded delivery too. i am hoping for a call saying pick her up on monday but reckon it'll be wednesday. 6hrs on a train then the same to drive home, I cannot wait!! i at least have a reg number.

last update was it's on it's way. hadn't arrived oon friday but should be early this week. i'm hoping to get the train to Preston monday /tuesday next week to collect it SUPER Excited!!!

I've had a call from Simpson's skoda, she's getting built next week!! I just need to sort out a collection date and get train tickets sorted out. will be leaving the house at 6am and home by 9pm, if it all goes to plan.....which it wont.

ordered mine, 29th February, black magic, only extra was seat trays week 20 build, aiming to collect 1st or 2nd week in June. i reckon a call to your dealer is required.

i've done the same, skoda aberdeen were unwilling to match the deal and were pretty rude about it all. just waiting for it to be built and delivered (end of may) looking forward to the 'adventure' of traipsing down to preston to collect it 1.4 l&k in black magic. CANNOT WAIT!!

still looking at build week 20, so collecting 22/23. right when i'm away on holiday :(. oh well, it'll be something to look forward to on my return. not looking forward to the train journey from aberdeen to preston to get it though. worth the wait.

i am almost wishing i ordered an SE-L. looks like something (i'm guessing engine) is delaying the build slots for the L&Ks. all in i'm looking at 14 weeks.

Email through this morning, provisional build date of week 20, so end of May delivery, right when i'm on holiday :( so will have to collect when i get back. oh well. the wait is on

I've had 4 weeks and no update, I emailed 2 weeks ago and had no build date confirmed. a bit of communication would be good.

how long after placing an order did everyone first hear back?

i ordered 29th Feb, 1.4 L&K. only extras were a front isofix point and fold up trays in the rear. haven't heard anything yet. suspense is killing me.

Dropped a deposit on a 1.4Tsi L&K yesterday, told 12 to 14 weeks. BUT I WANT IT NOW!!! anyone else used Simpsons in Preston? sales guy was excellent.

All, recently ~i've notice a loud squealing noise from the front drivers side wheel. i've had the discs and pads replaced, still a noise i've bled the brake fluid, still a noise. it's not constant, only after heavy brake use; i can get to work and home with no noise, but a spirited run to the shop and it'll start. before i start looking at new calipers / ABS sensors / BMCs, do any of you have an idea?

sledgehammer, fire, .303 rifle ( other calibres are available) tempt it out with a ginsters and club the ****er while it's back is turned. probably not much use to you.

i'd go with the filter but the 'whooshing noise' implies summat more serious. I'll whip the airbox open tonight and have a looky. if it's the air filter then i am laughing! any advise on a drop-in replacement. the car is booked in for a service on wednesday so it get fixed then.
