  1. I've noticed exactly the same, jumped from £420 last year to £505. Starting shopping around now to see what others can offer.
  2. Thanks for the info, my manual lists what each fuse if for but not the ampage. I've ordered a mixed box of fuses so I'll give that a go when they arrive.
  3. With the change in the weather this past week I've been needing to use the heated rear screen, but have found that it isn't working. I managed to take a look today and have found the fault...the fuse is missing. I'm guessing that while I trying to find a suitable fuse to use for my dashcam a few months ago I inadvertently removed it and somehow forget to put it back. Can anyone please advise what ampage fuse is required? Thanks
  4. Created a template for a plotter cutter and made a PPF sheet to protect the trim around the gear leaver. Needs a very minor tweak to the dimensions but otherwise an almost perfect fit and all but invisible.
  5. I have been finalising the hardwiring for my Cellink Neo-6 dashcam battery today. Having checked various fuses for a suitable switched 12V feed I've used the rear wiper as mentioned in this thread, even though the piggyback connector is a tight fit against fuse 45 (electric seats). However as soon I turned the ignition off I got a warning on the dash 'Please check starter system'. If I remove the piggyback connector and replace the fuse the warning disappears. I have tried using fuses 26 (heated front seats) and 53 (heated rear window) and the warning isn't displayed, but these are permanently live. I've avoided trying any fuses that are critical and/or safety related systems. My car is a 2019 vRS Challenge with heated screen, wheel, blind spot assist and rear camera. I've been using this site for reference - https://fuse-box.info/skoda/skoda-octavia-mk3-5e-2017-2018-fuse-box-diagram Would anyone be able to shed any light or offer suggestions as to what may be causing this issue? Thanks.
  6. Finally completed the ceramic coating and LSP...
  7. No matter how careful you are piano black trim always pick up scratches. When I ordered my new vRS I made a point of telling the dealer to leave the protective film on the b-pillars to prevent damage until I installed PPF. I had mine professionally installed as part of some other work, but had I done this myself I was looking to buy from here
  8. I've currently got my front and rear dashcams temporarily installed and connected to the centre console 12V socket. I've got a Cellink Neo battery pack to power the cameras in parking mode and which I need to hardwire. I purchased the battery before I got the car with the intention of possibly mounting it under the passenger seat or behind the glove box. Unfortunately neither of these locations are now an option as there is insufficient space. Can anyone suggest an alternative place I can try locating it? The provided loom is relatively long and I should be able to extend it if required. The dimensions of the battery are 150 x 170 x 38 mm. Thanks.
  9. I was doing a single stage machine polish prior to applying a ceramic coating. It is good practice to tape up badges, seals etc to protect them when polishing to avoid damage.
  10. Looks like we're going with similar mods but in opposite directions pkcskoda (excuse the tailgate photo, haven't had chance to take a finished shot yet but same emblem as front)
  11. I used DTD 10 years ago with my previous Octavia, no problems whatsoever and the price was unbeatable. The deal was made even better as I knew that my local dealer was the supplying dealer at the time, gave me great pleasure going in to complete the paperwork after the sales manager had told me the price they quote was never honoured....it was. I considered using them again this time around, but because I couldn't confirm where in the country the car would be coming from i went with CarWow instead. The price was about £1K higher but as my (different) local dealer could match the best price I was offered made me decide I could live with the extra cost.
  12. I've run in to the exact same problem with my OnePlus in my 19 plate with Amundsen. I tested this when I first paired the phone and made a call without any problem, however next time I tried it kept giving me call failed message. I can receive calls but not make them. I've recently upgraded to Android Pie which, as Alex has mentioned, has the option of selecting the SIM to use per contact. If I disable the second SIM it works fine, but this is obviously not a practical solution.
  13. I ordered mine last weekend of March, collected 21st June. Started getting it all cleaned and protected a couple of weeks ago, but had to put on hold so not yet finished. Completed a couple of small mods, colour coded front and rear emblems and debadged.
  14. I've just finished detailing the interior of my brand new mk3 and also noticed the button on the B-pillar was missing. Definitely a retrograde step, I used this quite a lot on my mk2.
  15. This might be completely irrelevant, but have you checked the rear tyres for sawtoothing on the inside shoulders? I had this problem and the noise coming from the rear got gradually worse, I mentioned this at it's first service and after only 4000 miles the inside shoulders were badly worn. A 4 wheel alignment improved the noise a little and the wear didn't get any worse. When I eventually replaced the tyres I made sure to get the tracking checked again just to be sure, with the new tyres the car was transformed.
  16. She's finally here...and already booked in for a repair 😠 The salesman drove out of the showroom and parked up ready for me to drive away, I was sitting in the car for less than 2 minutes while adjusting seats, wheel, mirrors etc when another customer drove past. I glanced up just in time to hear the clunk as he hit my mirror, looked over his shoulder at me and drove off!!! I got out to check to find a nice deep scratch on the mirror housing. Unsurprisingly I kicked up a fuss, especially since the guy knew he'd done it. They've agreed to replace the mirror housing as I requested.
  17. My vRS Challenge as I collected it this afternoon...and no, they didn't forget to remove the protective covers on the B-pillars, I requested that other than removing the protective film elsewhere I wanted it otherwise untouched. I will be detailing it fully in a week or so and I didn't want to have any damage inflicted by the dealers valeters.
  18. Finally arrived at the dealer, collecting Friday...
  19. Thanks for the updated pkcskoda...enjoy. I'm looking forward to hearing mine has arrived and is ready for collection, hoping it will be this coming week. 😃
  20. I can't really advise on which model to look at since I've only really looked at vRS, but the Sportline could be a decent halfway house. Definitely check out CarWow, you can get very good discounts on RRP and certainly go the PCP route, especially since there is an extra £1000 discount currently available (only until 17th June). There are a few threads on here with regards to taking out PCP, the general consensus is to call VW finance soon after delivery and ask to cancel and clear the outstanding finance; you get to keep the deposit contribution, servicing etc.
  21. Thanks for all the replies, I was confident that mats were standard since they are shown in the equipment list on the wesbite. I only asked the dealer the question since I'm thinking of getting a few bits from Superskoda and didn't want to place an order and then find they were missing. I have to agree that it's pot luck when it come to the knowledge of the sales person. When I went to one dealership for a test drive the guy I was dealing with could answer every question I asked, he could immediately knew all the differences and options between models, whereas my local dealer who I'm purchasing the car from was the opposite. I would have prefered to order from the first dealership, but unfortunately they couldn't get close to matching the price, plus the fact they were a 90 minute drive away against 10 minutes for me local dealer.
  22. While completing some paperwork with the dealer today I asked them to confirm if mats come as standard. The response was very vague, before they decided that mats aren't standard and need to spec'd at time of ordering or can I get them as an accessory!! Could you please advise pkcskoda if your car had mats when you looked at it? I'd also be interested to know if the under bonnet soundproofing is fitted to the petrol vRS or only the diesels. Thanks
  23. Hey Sasha, can you please confirm if this is the footrest you purchased... http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/OCTAVIA-III/Octavia-III-RHD-VRS-designed-footrest-for-RHD-cars-MANUAL-TRANSMISSION I've been looking at it for a while but it states for manual cars. Thanks.
  24. I have just purchased these emblems from Superskoda, I haven't fitted them yet as I'm still awaiting delivery of my car but quality seems very good. I can't speak about customer service but certainly delivery was fine, think they arrived in about 5-6 days. I'm guessing the vRS badge you want is like the one that will be on my Challenge but in black rather than chrome... I'm undecided about the other badges right now, may debadge and leave just the vRS badge or replace with black versions.
  25. Approximately 9 weeks from order to build date for my Challenge. The day after my build date the dealer told me it was on it's way to Germany, so presumably will be up to a couple of weeks until it reaches the dealers. As per JP's post intial estimate was 12 weeks, but advised could be as long as 16.
