  1. Rollback to previous software that worked is what I would have done to rule out any problems.. then change sensors etc.to see if issue goes away.
  2. I could tell it was faulty by the different readings it was giving me... There is no alarm ... The readings were too different to be normal.. plus regens were frequent. If the dpf was professionally cleaned then realisticly what I would have done is fit a new sensor on and be adapted so the car knows the dpf is empty and can run / plan active regens accordingly...
  3. If you ask VW to do it they should know to adapt it correctly and they would use genuine parts Id start there and see if any changes... If no change then look at EGR valve.. might be heavily blocked? Or the DPF has got to the end of its life. Whats the mileage on the car?
  4. Hi mate where are you based I had the car rolled back to factory ecu settings and then changed the dpf pressure sensor as this was faulty and giving wrong readings... This is a 1 use item and needs to be callibrated / coded before the engine is turned back on or else it will learn the old values and be a waste of time. If you are near Birmingham / Worcester area I can plug VCDS into it and have a look whats going on... Looking on screenshots.. there isnt a "measured" soot box but only a "calculated" Vcds can show the "actual" soot mass in the dpf.. Id look at changing the sensor first (buy from vw as this will get you the correct one) Any more help please message me Rob.
  5. @Rustynuts Having some issues with Columbus system Suspect battery drain is linked... Vcds scan shows short to ground/ open circuit to ground or something to that effect... Phone sometimes doesnt play sound through... Can hear alternator whine through speakers when on a call..sometimes aux input needs to be deactivated / reactivated... Bluetooth is hit and miss Can the unit be repaired or is it easier to buy a new 1. Assume the rns510DAB is a straight swap? (Already got the antenna as use an aux dab adapter) Finger crossed this sounds like something that can be fixed? Thanks in advance
  6. I have an issue with my Columbus Nav / Radio that I think is draining the battery... 2 days and its dead. Replaced battery after the last 1 died but now think battery was not the issue. On a vcds scan it shows up a fault with the phone mic / open short to ground.. and the aux in / open short to ground. Sometimes the phone cant be heard through it, other times I have to go into settings, de activate and re active aux.. Am I able to add the DAB tuner to it aswell? I have one running through aux in (which is ok) but would prefer on main unit. Map updates.. is this worth it or am I best sticking to my TomTom... Or just upgrade to an Android Headunit... Assume steering wheel controls wont work then... Sorry for long post but its annoying me now.. Car is a 2011 FL Octavia Scout. Chat soon Rob.
  7. Hi guys. Looking for some knowledge on this fault code please. Im leaning toward 1 of the lambda sensors.. or coolant temp sensor... As we have had the red coolant light on lately which is strange behaviour for the car. Car has had a new exhaust recently after the new flexi pipe they installed failed after 2 miles. Increased fuel consumption and fumes in the cab are evident Any help appreciated.. Thanks.
  8. Evening all, Got a lovely Fabia for sale, now surplus to requirements, Ideal first car or second cheap run about. Mechanically sound, currently on SORN but will insure / tax for a day if serious interest for test drives etc Skoda Fabia 2008. In Candy White, air con, alloys, full history from day 1. It has 2 brand new tyres on front.. rears are fairly new. Exhaust new front section, back section was new last year. Rear brake shoes and fittings are brand new. Battery new not so long ago... MOT a few weeks ago so full year on that. 1x key (we only ever had 1) DAB radio / Bluetooth will leave in... also 2 spare wheels if you want them. Front bumper could do with refreshing as is tatty / scuffed but to be honest it's never bothered us. NSF alloy scuffed but again it holds air.. cheap enough for a refurb if you wished. Ideal first car or cheap run about... loads of money spent on it recently.. No silly offers or time wasters. Car is currently SORN Viewing by appointment as car is in storage and will have to get it. Contact me anytime for full details or call me for a chat. Thanks. 3 owners, £1,800 . Sensible offers considered.
  9. Yeah got it all sorted. Rolled software back to factory stamdard and works properly now. I only put BP ultimate diesel in it and so far so good.
  10. So Lesjofors are a better spring? Plus decent dampers and assistors... Increasing the polybush to a bigger size made it stiffer?
  11. Hi all After some advice please Want to install some MAD spring assistors on my 2011 Ocy Scout. Im wanting to replace the springs and dampers at the same time... why not as its done 147k and when towing the back end just sits too low.. even a light trailer.. Question is.. to go with the Assistors, 1.Standard dampers and springs from Skoda 2.Oem spec aftermarket parts 3.Uprated parts Links / personal experience would be helpful Dont want to ruin the ride / handing , just want better towing comfort.. Thanks all
  12. found this after brief Google search, may be of some use? Wherebouts are you located? http://p0641-skoda.autotroublecode.com/ and this one: http://p0641.enginetroublecode.com/skoda-octavia
  13. Ok... dont suppose you know of anyone who has the capability to do so.... and by Bricking it I assume you mean rendering it useless? And as far as I knew he put the original pre update software on... so... had to trust him on that one... And what software number am I ideally looking for?
  14. So you are saying my car is performing correctly... and regular 150 mile ish intervals are normal.
  15. Dont have a meter but can get access to one... I assume Im checking for the right voltage etc accross it?
