  1. Ive just joined the 100k club... After almost 3 years of ownership it's my longest serving car and in that period it has served me well, only real issues were recent rear caliper in need of replacing... Other than that just normal maintenance.... Rust is starting to appear on mine on the rear of the sill, but going to get on top of that sharpish Hope mine is as lasting as yours with minimal troubles as I plan to keep it for a long time yet :-)
  2. I'd leave the door handles black and black the grill... Looks very tidy as it is mind, subtle is best for sure!
  3. Thanks guys, I'll give Skoda a try... If not ill have to get on top of it soon
  4. I was just wondering if any of you guys knew if the body of the Mk1 Fabia VRs is galvanised at all? I ask mainly due to some signs of rust coming through on the bottom of the rear arches on both sides of mine...which would suggest that it isn't haha Also has anyone else had such problems, seems a bit strange considering mine is a late 2005 model (although we have had a harsh winter and I live in a seaside town) Do you guys reckon Skoda would cover this under a paint/body warranty at all?
  5. I have a similar problem. Once my light comes on its a race to the filing station as it has been know to get as little as 3-5 mile from when the light strikes. Also trip as the car down for doing 38MPG with mixed town and motorway driving. Pretty **** tbh... All filters replaced, MAF replaced but still no change. Just used to it now haha
  6. Thought id come back to this to see if anyone else had come across a similar problem lol... still sorta poor. Car not been used a whole lot since I started this thread due to working away...
  7. so looks as if no one else has genuinely had a problem similar haha apparently services just before i purchased, i shall be re-servicing in the coming weeks anyway when I fit new belt and water pump. So do you think maybe its a sender problem or possible fuel stack?
  8. No fuel leaks on the drive nope.... its quizing me, is it the sender? whats typical miles to a tank? ive just topped it up to see what i get before the light comes on...
  9. The car never leaves the town, is used for maybe 5 miles a day if that really... this maybe is the reason for poor MPG, but running out of fuel so quick on the light is a bit strange, in my eyes anyway lol
  10. as for the trip, when the light comes on it says i have like 50 Miles left... not a true story in reality haha
  11. Its not that i wait for it to get that low, all my previous cars have allowed for 40-50 miles with the light, hence allowing for short daft runs to the shops etc haha... but it is literally giving me 10-15 miles once the light comes on and i am driving like a pussy... true story. while we are on it, my MPG isnt all that clever either, car states 41MPG but doesnt seem to be doing that even... :-\
  12. Hey guys, a quick, yet random one... When the fuel light comes on, on my Fabia Vrs 2005, i literally get like 10-15 miles worth of usage from it from when the light first occurs. Which has left me to conk out twice now en route to the fueling station, looking like a mug haha I was wondering if you guys had experienced anything similar and is it naturally how the Fabia functions, or do I have a stinker haha lots of love, cheers ;-)
