  1. If you've got the vRS it is a pain to fit rear mounted carrier because of the rear spoiler. I tried to fit one to no avail but a scratched spoiler. Have gone for Thule roof bars and a mixture of thule and halfords (they are the same) racks and carry 4 bikes with no hassle. Also being roof mounted gives you free access to your boot and the bikes are more secure.
  2. Yes just had mine done with exactly the same warning light flashing every couple of seconds. Took seven days to get mine sorted because there wasn't a replacement part available in the country. Apparently they have modified this part now as the VAG Assist guy was explaining. The serial number on my original part ended in an 'A' and the replacement part now ends in a 'EV' meaning a certain number of modifications have taken place on this part since it's inception. However whilst at the dealers, obviously waiting for the new part, they thought they could solve the problem by test driving it as when i got the car back it had an extra 103miles on the clock and a quarter of a tank of diesel less in it!!! I think they thought i was stupid or something as the mileage was recorded by the recovery guys
  3. Just had mine replaced on my 09 Vrs LE and was told it was a throttle potentiometer. Also had an exhaust sensor replaced which was triggering the DPF warning light on the dash. Apparently there were no potentiometer replacements in the country and had to wait 7 days to get the car back. However i had a loan Toyota Avensis diesel whilst my car was off the road and when i picked up my VRs and drove out of the garage carpark PHWOOOOOAAAAARRRRR! Wouldn't have any thing else for the money! PS I too have the strange occurrence if i am travelling over a sharp hill or humpback bridge, as you reach the crest it's like somebody has turned the ignition off for a split second. Just presumed this was some sort of exhaust or engine brake.
  4. It's funny reading through these threads ans seeing what peoples driving characteristics must be. I am still on my original Michelin Exalto's on my Diesel VRS LE and currently on over 30000 miles. They are due for a change as they are now touching there wear markers. They've been good tyres but find them quite noisy to the point of irritating on some road surfaces. problem is there current equivalents are over £100 a corner. Am genuinly interested in the comments as i am about to change boots.
  5. I'd also be interested in which rack would fit the VRS hatch as i have a Halfords high level type which was fitted on my Passat Estate. What a nightmare!!! tried all ways to fit it to my VRS and ended up sctratching the rear spoiler as it would not sit properly once adjusted past the spoiler and over or under the rear wiper. Hence it ended up in a heap on my front lawn:mad:
  6. Oops just read Rossdooks thread on the very same thing and judging from the replies i await the barage of (helpful) reponses. (Not!) I really must learn to read :rotz:
  7. Does anyone encounter the same problem i seem to be having since purchasing my new VRS LE. The first sign of any moisture in the air and the discs take on a bright orange colour with rust. Problem with this is every time i clean the car, i get all the wheels spotless and then within 100 yards my lovely clean wheels are covered in a ginger haze:thumbdwn: By the way i'm not gingerist
  8. I notice your gear knob has a shiny inlay, where on mine it is a matt silver finish. I couldn't quite see from the photo but it seems you have the same missing lumbar support control on the drivers seat as i have. It is on passengers but not drivers.
  9. When i ordered my Vrs LE, salesperson told me the police had ordered a TDi LE from them. This would be for Staffs Police.
  10. Thanks for all the comments, it looks like a trip down to the dealer to interrogate them about the odd bits and pieces. Did anyone get any Vrs enscribed mats with their LE's as i was told when i ordered mine that i would get Vrs mats, but got to say i was a little disappointed when i got black mats with grey piping:irked:
  11. Just done over 2000 miles now and got to say despite the little queries mentioned it's been great so far. Wheels can be a pain to clean but weel worth it once there done, takes me longer to clean wheels than the rest of the car:confused:
  12. I have recently aquired the new Limited Edition Vrs and have noticed a few thing son it and wondered if any one else had noted the same things. 1. No lumber support adjustment on drivers seat yet is on passengers seat. 2. When turning on the radio 1st thing in a morning the screen is very dull where you almost can't see whats on the screen until about 15 mins into journey and then brightens up to normal. 3. Have already lost 2 no i's off Limited Edition badge and M & E are now peeling off, seems to be made out of the same material as my lads football stickers! 4. When passenger seated in the passenger seat and seat belt not done up whilst moving off, isn't there supposed to be a warning light on the dash? Just wondered if any one else was having same issue or had noticed anything else worth mentioning? Probably just me being over fussy:rolleyes:
  13. Got my tdi for £16400, but were very resistant at that as they couldn't guarantee availability. But looking at photo's up at Grimsby i'd say they are playing the game. Impressed if someone got one for 15k though. Reference the wheels, looking at the different threads posted i can see that the vRS purists aren't that keen and can prbably see why, but i've got to say not being a Skoda owner before i quite like the wheels and they are a bit different from the norm.
  14. Have had mine nearly 2 weeks now and got to say not being a Skoda owner previously, i am impressed so far
