  1. I have replaced the standard 18 inch wheels on my Superb Elegance saloon with 16 inch Spectrum alloys and Hankook Ventus Prime K105 205/55 R16 W (94)tyres, at the recommended pressures for 16 inch wheels. The increase in drive comfort is tremendous, and now my wife is happy!. The way I drive, I have not noticed any difference in handling. I even think it looks better, but that is personal taste.
  2. Same problem but with passenger door. Would not open from outside if temp fell below zero overnight.

  4. I have fitted 16" Spectrum alloys and Hankook Ventus Prime K105 205/55 R16 W (94) tyres to my Superb 3t Elegance 2.0 140 tdi. The improvement in ride quality and quietness is dramatic. I also prefer the appearance with the smaller wheels, but I am no boy-racer. Tyre pressures for 16" wheels are listed on the filler cap cover.
  5. My 2.0TDI 140 has also misfired occasionally since new. When this occurs I notice an overheating smell which I guess is coming from the DPF. I have found this occurs if I fail to change to a lower gear and the engine revs drop below 1500 for a prolonged period. If I change up a gear at between 2000 and 2600 revs (as per handbook instruction) and change down a gear at 1500 revs the problem disappears. This does mean driving around town in 3rd gear. I have come to the conclusion that the misfiring is caused by the DPF being unable to cope with the lower exhaust gas flow at low engine revs.
  6. I too have the more expensive mats which clip into place and don't move. After 12 months they are still in reasonable condition. When I took delivery of the car, the dealer included OEM rubber mats. I found that my heel caught in the cellular structure when moving my foot from accellerator to brake, and thus was a safety hazard. For the time being, I have kept the rubber mats in the back in preference to the textile mats since they are more serviceable with kids.
  7. Are you sure you are always using the same key? Each key has its own seat setting for the driver's seat. I suspect if a key has not been allocated a driver's seat setting, then it might be moving the passenger seat due to a bug in the software for RHS cars.
  8. I have a couple of obervations that may, or may not help. I mainly drive the Superb, normally opening and using my ignition key. On occassios, my wife has found the passenger seat had mysteriously moved fully back, but this seems to have occured when she has opened the car with her own key. The other day, she actually noticed that the movement of the seat occured when she pressed her key button. She thinks she may have pressed the button for too long as the windows also partially opened. My own key has been set to store a postion on the drivers seat and I have turened the window opening feature off in the MFD. Some of the settings in the MFD are independent for each ignition key, for example when my key displayed Summer Time, my wife's key was still showing GMT. It would be a good idea to compare the MFD settings using each key in turn, and to ensure that each key has a stored setting on the driver's seat. There could be a glitch in the software in RHD vehicles that causes the passenger seat to occasionaly move if the key does not have a driver's seat stored setting. As regards the alarm, I also had this go off on the odd occasion. I very much suspect that it was caused by small spiders on the sensors. Spiders love corners and crevices and the recessed sensors must be an attractive place for them. When this problem was occuring, I turned off the internal sensors with the switch on the B column and whilst these were off, no false alarm occured.Spiders and flies are not around over the winter months, but this years batch are hatching out about now!
  9. I had the same problem when I got my car a year ago. I found that to enable me to comfortably reach the pedals, I needed the lumber support moving to the lowest position and adjust the back rake, effectively shortening the seat squab. For the first few weeks I was continually changing the adjustment. Try storing a couple of positions so that you can flick from one to the other until you find the best compromise. After a few weeks I seemed fine. I reach the pedals and my leg no longer rubs on the centre console.
  10. In the last few days, my Superb has also developed a rattle in this area. It started after driving over speed bumps and only occurs on rough surfaces. The rattle sounds a bit like a Spanish castanet. I would be interested to know what yor dealer finds.
  11. Dealer rang to say he needed the car in for a recall to replace fog lights. Job took 25 miniutes.
  12. I have experienced exactly the same condition, mainly after cruising along at 50mph in 6th gear for 10 minutes. Getting into the habit of changing down a gear to keep engine revs above 1500 will eliminate the problem. The handbook suggests you change up gears at between 2000 and 2500 revs.
