Hi. For the second time, the local Dundee Skoda staff replaced the driver side front sidelight (free of charge) - aren't Skoda dealers wonderfull!. They loosened the 3 bolts holding the fuel filter, then removed the sidelight, and put a new bulb in the holder. I asked them not to fit the bulb holder back into position. When I got home I fitted a small cable tie round the bulb holder. Hopefully this will help me remove the bulb the next time. If there is a next time, I might fit an LED sidelight bulb. This design is ridiculous! The plastic cylindrical surround foir the sidelight bis about 3 cms longer than it needs to be and shortening it would solve the problem. However, removing the whole headlight seems like a complex and time-consuming job. If Skoda can't design these simple things properly, then perhpas they should fit long-life LED bulbs in place of filament bulbs. The_near_side.

How to change sidelights - Fabia II & Roomster
the_near_side replied to irfant's topic in Skoda Roomster (2006-2015)
Hi. I tried to change the driver side sidelight and could not do it. The crop clip did not help me. I dropped in at the Skoda dealer in Dundee and aske dhgow much they would charge to replace the sidelight bulb (Saturday afternoon). They said they would have a look, and replacved it in 10 minutes without using tools at all. And how much did they charge? Nothing. Nada. Nil. My skoda is a mk 2 (2007) 1.4 80bhp TDI hatch, and I did not buy it in Dunde, nor do I get the car serviced there. They just said they were happy to help. -
Fabia- extra 12v power socket.
the_near_side replied to Buster's topic in Audio, Electronics and Security
Hi. none of the links for an additional power socket for fabia work. I have 1.4 80ps diesel, trim 3. In the glovebox there appears to be a ready-made place to fit an additional power socket. Does anybody know how to fit same? Thanks. -
I have driven my Fabia TDI 3 for 7k miles, and I like it a lot. However, the horn is a complete embarrassment! I agree that BRISKODA should aks SKODA to offer suitable replacement DIY kits at reasonable cost.

Going from UK to France - Headlight Adjust
the_near_side replied to aubrey's topic in Skoda Roomster (2006-2015)
Many thanks for the diagram. I asked in the skoda garage, and they said that some models need tape or plastic converters, and those with module headlights (H7 bulbs) can be adjusted, but thgey did not know how to do it, BUT they did take my phone number and said they would find out for me. FOR PEOPLE WHO CAN'T BE BOTHERED, don't blame me if you end up in a Turkish jail. If you have an accident in France (or elsewhere in continental Europe) and the driver of the other vehicle claims to have been dazzled, they WILL check, and if you have not adjusted your lights, you are in deep do-do... prison even, depending on the injuries sustained. Be warned.
