  1. Thanks, I will try turning that adjustment screw and see what happens.πŸ‘
  2. Can the fog lights be adjusted? MOT report states that both are too low. 2012 Yeti.
  3. I also have the BGS kit. As long as you can verify the tool is made up of two parts, it will be possible to dismantle. I always go for a bigger hammer if nothing happens 😁😁
  4. Yes, to free the XZN-bit I just tapped it out. And you can use your bench vice to put it back in. Never mind torque. Just pull till your arms achesπŸ˜†
  5. Due to lack of space under my Yeti, I dismantled the 14mm XZN socket and used a long 14mm Gearwrench tool. No fuzz at all, and you can do all the work without staying under your car.
  6. Looking for installation manuals for Webasto parking heaters? This site lists these manuals for a lot of brands: http://mmc-manuals.ru/all_webasto/install/cars/
  7. I had the Yeti treated with Noxudol when it was new, and was in for the complete Mercasol antirust treatment. It takes away some of the road noise.
  8. Have a look at Nokian WR D4
  9. AwaoffSki: Responding to a question raised here. Just sharing my experience from driving in the worst (winter)weather conditions you can have here in Norway. But conditions as you describe are difficult to handle, and demands the use of washer fluids -and lots of it. I tend to use fluids not too concentrated, this is bad for the paint. But never use fluids dilluted to freezing temp over -10C for summer use and -15C for winter use in my area. Moutain crossing in the winter: at least -25C. Don't bother trying to keep the rear windscreen clean, always seems to collect some oily smear the wiper won't cope with. Nice pics BTW
  10. You may try to block the cabin mirror for a while. By this, you will learn to use and trust you wingmirrors. And a filthy rear windscreen won't bother you anymore
  11. Depends on wind speed and own speed. The higher wind speed across the windscreen the higher cabin temp is possible. But quite often you are standing at a safe area for the convoy to build up. This is the time for you to lower the cabin temp and, as you say, let the snow bounce off. When the convoy start moving the windscreen must be dry and cold. Even the wipers must be dry, and never attempt to use the windscreen cleaner. This will only wet the windscreen surface and make the snow stick. If outside temp is not too low, one could go the other way round by producing maximum heat towards the windcreen. This will, if you are lucky, melt the snow continuosly. You may find you have to use large amounts of windscreen cleaner which should be rated at least -20C. But if this method fails during your drive through the snowdrifts, then you are in deep sh**. Always remember warm clothes.
  12. To avoid snow to stick to my windscreen, in very cold weather with drifting snow, I reduce the temperature in the cabin. Use this method when crossing the moutains, often in convoys, when stopping is absolutely not recommended.
  13. If you are a pipesmoker you may have some pipecleaners available. Made the trick last time this happened with the Yeti.
  14. Read it as "Ignition ON"
  15. I have found these two methods: "Recalibrating throttle pedal With the ignition "off" press the throttle to the floor -turn on the ignition and hold the throttle down for about 20 seconds -turn the ignition back off and then lift off the throttle. OR: -switch the ignition to on, but don't fire the car up. Now prod the accelerator pedal all the way down and hold for 5 secs, then release for 5 secs. Fire the car up, and the throttle is apparently reset it's parameters." I have used the first method on my Yeti 2012 and the previous Octavia 2009. Worked as described on both, it resets the learning function which reads your driving over some distance and makes some weird calculations to save fuel.
  16. Can I put my bumper back on now?
  17. I never removed that lower part of the grill. Here you can see what the rear side of the front bumper looks like. Can't tell if the grill can be unclipped from outside.
  18. Any 3-4 year old kid in your family that could help you?
  19. [More OT] They are Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S 215/60R16. I thought they would be noisy, but actually they are not. The deep tread pattern make them quite soft when new, but as they wear down the steering gets more precise. I seriously considered buying same again, but now the Yeti is up for sale. Replaced by a 2017 Mini Countryman Cooper All4.
  20. I paid NOK 1.000,- extra to have the DSG/6 box flushed instead of just an oilchange.
  21. Same here. Yeti (Geiti) will be replaced with a Mini Cooper Countryman All4, 136 Hp petrol, manual,White/Black, with extras for NOK 130k.
  22. Here in Norway, this vertical rubber strip is routinely removed by the dealers. I have had all 4 sidedoors resparayed due to the zinkinclusion problem. At the workshop they told me there was also some wear to the paint caused by the runner strip. They removed the rubber strip on both sides leaving a gap between front and rear door. I have not experienced any problems with water ingress or increased noise after this fix.
  23. You could also try a primer, like Loctite SF770, after the silicone remover.
