  1. Ok cheers for that, will have a look :sun:
  2. Hi everyone, I wonder whether anyone can help me? I have a Fabia vRS MK2 with a factory fitted Amundsen sat-nav/stereo. My system has stopped displaying the track artist and name of song, when I play a CD. It just simply highlights the number of the track, i.e Track 1, Track 2 etc. I'm probably being a bit thick here, but is there a setting I've turned off by accident or is this a fault? Anyone had similar problems, if so, how do I rectify it? Cheers Bingo

  4. First vRS had 3 years from new, CAVE engined. Sept.2010 No engine replacements and not a drop of oil used. Second vRS had since Sept. 2013 CTHE engined. No engine replacement so far but definitely an oil user when I drive it hard, which I do regularly in Sports mode. One thing for sure is that the CTHE is definitely more powerful so I guess I can forgive the moderate oil usage for the wider grin on the face
  5. Really like those wheels, having seen them at Santa Pod. Look forward to seeing what they look like fitted Very tempted to splash out...
  6. Just like to say it was great to meet a few of you on Saturday, all very nice people as well. There was a nice array of colours too! My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed watching the fabias give the others a good run for the money. What cracking little cars we have! Hope to meet up again in the future and if work permits, maybe stop over next time. Cheers :cocktail:
  7. Congratulations on your 'rare' meteor grey vRS , I absolutely love the colour! It continues to make me smile when peoples' faces go 'urrrghh!' Enjoy :p
  8. Looking forward to seeing more than two Mk2 Fabia vrS' within 10 metres of eachother tomorrow, yes, they are that rare in my neck of the woods!! And of course, looking forward to meeting up with you all for the first time. See y'all tomorrow.
  9. Yes ,I will be driving down first thing with a friend of mine, staying for the day and travelling back to Norfolk late afternoon. :| I shan't be racing either as I'm not insured to do so, but just looking forward to the day.
  10. Bingo765 - Meteor Grey / Black Roof / Black Wheels 2013 CTHE Engine Uses oil when using high revs in sports mode, but doesn't appear to use oil round town - I believe the complete opposite to some on here!
  11. Not bad really, mine's done over 23,000 miles and just over 4 litres.
  12. Thanks for the reply. I get what you're saying.According to my invoice I was billed for £3.50 worth of oil so my mistake,it wasn't completely changed, just topped up. I think I need to drain the oil completely myself and fill it exactly with 3.6 litres. Then there can be no doubt of the starting point. Only then can I get to the bottom of this. Cheers merry XmasB-)
  13. Hi goneoffski, you do seem to be the most knowledgeable about the oil issues so would appreciate your opinion. I had a cave engine that I didn't have to top up once in 3 years. I now have had a cthe with 23000 miles and just about used 4 litres of top up oil. For the extra performance of the cthe engine and I am certain it's more powerful than the last, I think the oil use is pretty reasonable considering. However, I had my car serviced at 20000 miles. My oil was replaced. My oil light came on at 22500 miles. Can you give me your opinion on this, I already know what skoda have said but value yours,is this acceptable oil use with this mileage?( ie 2500 miles to oil warning light) The oil level is below/at the lowest point on the dipstick,so how much oil is needed to take up to the top of cross hatch? Many thanks bingo
  14. Hi congratulations on your purchase! Welcome to a rare breed of Fabia vRS owners who must have the best 'value for money' performance cars on the road today ...Yes,there are good ones and bad ones but try not to get too engrossed in all the problems or it will take away all the fun you should be having. You're warranted til September 2015 so that's good news so just keep an eye on things for a while, log every phone call, get things in writing and more importantly enjoy this little car!
  15. I had one, 2005 Black magic. Beautiful car, but a very different animal. I was genuinely sad to see it go but am more than happy with the signifcantly improved performance of the mk2. Although not a fan of remapping cars, the mk1 had enough scope for doing just that, without too much of a risk. The main problem with the mk2 is that it's highly strung enough already. The perfect combination would have been the vrs Mk1 body with the vrs Mk2 engine. Now, I think Skoda would have sold more if that had been the case!
  16. Warlord Don't let the negative comments put you off this little car. You will sure regret it! In my opinion, there is not a better performance car on the road today for the money. If I was in your shoes, I would buy brand new from a main skoda dealer with an extended warranty as mentioned by others on here. Sounds like good advice to me. And then you are covered. Regarding remapping, I would not even consider it. It has always been my belief that a car engine has been designed to run in a certain way with many engineers brains behind the thinking. Remapping or interfering with it, is only going to cause trouble in the long run. After all, if you wanted a faster car, why not buy a faster one in the first place, makes no sense to me?! The Skoda fabia vRS, and I'm on my second one, is a truly brilliant car and continually puts a smile on your face. Honestly, you should buy one.
  17. Cheers, of course I look forward to seeing everyone too. It will be my first ever meeting with Briskoda members. :|
  18. Go on then, why not?! I rarely see any vRS's on the roads so would be great to see a shedload of them in the same place. I shan't be stopping over but I will make the trip down there and return the same day. 1-Furbytom 2-goneoffSKi 3-Jabozuma 4-Ally_bassman 5-pee81 6-Vrs-fletch 7-mrburdon123 8- pkoconnor 9-grantwebster 10- vrsGeo 11-Th3Grinch (situation dependant) 12- Mr j 13- Derekcollier 14-andy3270 15-Sittingbull 16-h3srr (monte) 17 -ToxicvRS (may have got a mk2 Fabia by then) (Or a 1.8T Fabia) (Or a Clio) 18- Fossy 19 - MidlifecrisisT (Todd) 20 - Naths vRS 21- Brian 69 22- TomR88 23- Sharkrider 24 - bingo765
  19. Wow, that's pretty impressive! However, it sort of defeats the object of having a performance car though, don't you think?? Still ,well done on your achievement. It just proves how good these little engines are. Day by day I surprise other drivers when I whizz past them with ease...
  20. Thanks for the replies, and of course I have forgotten to mention the economy!! Economy very similar, averaging around 30 due to the amount of sports driving, which is pretty damned good! Most I've achieved on a long run, 46mpg. I'm very surprised when I hear others have achieved more than this, not sure it's possible. Still, every engine must be slightly different and of couse, every driver is too lol
  21. Well, I'm on the second of these fantastic little cars so here are a few of my experiences. Firstly the CAVE engined 2010, white /black roof and silver wheels. 42,000 miles in 3 years. 2 or 3 call-outs to the RAC in the early days because of the engine management lights coming on. This was eventually solved by the replacement of the spark plugs ,which at the time were not good enough to withstand the power. Since then, problem free motoring and amazingly never once had to top up with oil!! Interior very bland looking until the evening kicked in, lights on and you felt you were in an aeroplane cockpit. Secondly, the CTHE engined 2013, meteor grey/black roof and black wheels, 19,000 in the first year. Without a doubt, this engine is definitely faster and more torquey than the CAVE, although I haven't had the ouput measured on a rolling road. I have used nearly 3.5 litres of oil in 19,000 miles, which I don't think is too bad considering the extra performance available at the pedals. It does say in the manual that , depending on your driving behaviour, you can use upto 0.5 litres per 1000 miles. ( I have to say I think this is a most ridiculous amount to use, I feel sorry for those who have had to spend that much money on oil.) But, nevertheless, my oil usage in comparison is pretty good. FYI I regularly use the the car in 'D' and with plenty of 'S' mode when overtaking and having some fun! As for the interior, very much improved with lots of chrome effect around the steering wheel, gearbox etc. To add to this, I went for the Sat/Nav system to add a colourful effect to the dashboard, however, I must admit the sat/nav has directed me wrongly on a couple of occasions, leading me to a open field rather than a petrol station!! Overall, I'm a very satisfied Fabia vRS owner, perhaps one of the lucky ones, but one who enjoys the thrills and performance this car gives me. It's a shame they're not making them anymore, because I wouldn't hesitate to buy another. Amazing power on tap, it's so fast, there's no need for any modifications at all. Truly brilliant motoring!
  22. I've had two and never had any issues with excess oil consumption. That may be how I drive the car.., driving in D most of the time, but using sport for traffic lights excitement or overtaking. Or, I could just be one of the lucky ones. Regularly average around 30/35 with a mix of town and motorway driving, but if driven like an old man, I've achieved 46mpg, which I am sure would have increased even further if continued to drive. Definitely recommend the fabia mk2, it's a beast and very understated!
  23. That's very smart ,just needs a black roof and silver wheels to finish it off.
  24. Wouldn't mind those vents....oh and wouldn't mind reaching out of the driver's window lol
