  1. A couple of weeks ago I bought a 05 black Vrs with 72k on the clock with full skoda service history for £4900 from a fellow briskodian. I had up to about 6.5k to spend but this was by far the best example without having to trek halfway across the country. 5.5k should be fine but if you want a standard one (like mine except for the black grill) you might have to accept a slightly higher milage, as the standard ones have more often been used as a milage car. No complaints from mine yet apart from the brakes not quite as responsive as I would of hoped, oh and my rear washer stopped working the other day! Did a 400 mile trip in it yesteday and returned 48 mpg and that was tanking it pretty much all the way, just as fun to drive as my S3 was but cheap!! Good purchase in my opinion.
  2. Hi guys, what goes down at these meets?
  3. Matts summing up there has me sold, as soon as I have the cash mines going to them!!
  4. Cheers man, anybody have pictures of a cup holder installation where the ash tray is?
  5. Guys I hope your a friendly bunch as i'm hoping to bend your ears for advice in the near future as i'm picking up my fabia this weekend, in return i'll be getting the drinks in at a meet or two. Not sure if this is the right forum but the one i'm getting is due a service pretty much immediately. I used to get my S3 done by a guy called Nick Young (youngs Garage) in Wrotham who is superb. Just checking who you get yours done by. I live in rochester. Cheers guys and see at a meet soon!
  6. Cool, so is there a way of combining the cradle and use it as a handsfree as well then with the bluetooth option?
  7. Look awesome, also interested as to what guys think of running 18's.
  8. Guys probably in the wrong forum but this is where i'm told all the cool cats hang out. One of the first things i'm hoping to do when picking up the car this weekend is some how fit a connector to the standard radio where I can play my iPhone through it. I was hoping that I could also get it to charge it aswell. I saw a while back that some guys had an alternative to the ash tray in the form of an extra cup holder? Has anyone got something along the lines of a docking station there instead? Pictures would be helpfull or a link to a previous thread? I did try searching (i promise) but couldn't find what I was looking for. Cheers dudes!!!
  9. Awesome that'll make a change from the 27mpg that I used to get in my S3. Seems you've got these old time fabia pro's a little hot under the collar with all this talk of racing and light changes coming from a 21 yr old chick!!
  10. Howdy gemma, hope we've both made a good choice, I pick my black 05 Vrs up on Saturday. I bet I don't get this many hi's when I post up my pics!!!!! No idea why not!?!?
  11. Cheers boys but viewed that one today over in Essex. Now apart from the dull paint work, scuffed alloys, stained seats and faded spoiler..... It was a good car. But I'm afraid the worst thing about it was the colour!!!! Now I know that's going to offend some of you but all I can say is that maybe it looks much better when it's polished and modded because I wasn't keen. So back to the drawing board it is!
  12. Yep me too so i'm hopefully off to see one in the flesh this weekend..... Skoda Fabia 1.9TDI PD (130bhp) vRS Hatchback 5d Finished in Yellow £5995.00 What do you think?
  13. Course it does, that bumper is sick!! Did you know it was going to work before you cut or was it just a case of "i'll just buy another one?"
  14. Looks stunning mate, what make wheels are they?
  15. Probably much to the annoyance of the more pro guys on here but.....:sorry: I missed out on the yellow one I was going for so will be hopefully viewing a Silver one over the weekend, in which case you lovely people couldn't post up your pics of your modded silver ones could you? I'd like to think that these threads could also help other new comers who search for similar posts in the future :rubchin: Ta buddies!!!
  16. How much was the splitter? Was it hard to fit?
  17. Beautiful pics there mud, and a beautiful car. That grill is really cool, was it just a straight swap for the original or have you just sprayed the original. Likewise with the wheels, what colour is that? If i'm to go yellow thats a must, was it just a scratching followed by a couple of coats then laceur?
  18. Tayor if your thinking of selling in the very near future, let us know, car looks amazing mate!!
  19. Guys, I take it there are loads of you guys out there driving a yellow one, and i'm starting to come around to the idea myself. Is there any chance you could fully convince me by posting up some of your cars that have been tastefully modded? Your help greatly appreciated!!:orb_cool:
  20. Guys awesome advise, I've set up a new thread seeing if anyone fancies off loading their pride and joy. I've got up to 6k for the right car and going to follow your advice and to standard! Fingers crossed I could be bombing round the streets if kent in one as of next week, which would be nice as the 1.5 dci Clio I've borrowed has just about lost it's appeal!
  21. Sorry boys didn't mean to start a row! Anyway I'm hopefully off to see a 2005 black standard one in surrey tomorrow, and could be steal at five and a half k! Wish me luck!
  22. Well that didn't last long, now up to 5k! Let's see how I stay the highest bidder!
  23. Cheers for that guys, I think though I'm going to go for a standard one first and then when the bug bites I'll go ahead and custom the car myself. A company in Bedford seem to be a go between a lease company and before it goes back to a dealers forecourt. They have a magic black 2005 with 50k on the clock currently on £4100 on eBay. Wish me luck!
  24. Guys, I'm a complete Skoda newboy having just sold my 2001 S3 as it was killing me on fuel and went over the magic 100k mileage so it had to go before it lost me any more money. I've finally decided on a Fabia VRS after many a night pondering ebay/autotrader and forums and you guys seem pretty ace. Anyway thats enough kissing your a***s in order to get you to help so here goes. I do a lot of miles, a round trip of 65 miles a day for work and a round trip to see famly once a month of 600 miles. I've got roughly 5K to speand and see on ebay and autotrader that for about five and a half I can pick up a tidy standard VRS on 2004/2005 plate with about 50k on the clock from a private dealer. This appeals to the sensible part of me, the one who likes having a clean license and is due a baby in the nest month........ but theres also the part that craves my Audi's performance. Which brings me on to the dilema. I guy on ebay has a Black magic for £5,995 which has had Jabbasport remap producing 185bhp. I'm no expert when it comes to mods and to be honest it massively puts me off. So I put myself in your capable hands to either convince me one way of another, does having it chipped reduce the lifespan of the engine/parts?, does it significantly reduce the mpg, is insurance a problem, do people struggle to sell it on afterwards or how much does it cost to have it reverted back before selling it on?, Is it worth it, ie is the performance that much different? One thing that also appeals is that the guy sems to at least know what he's talking about and cares after the car. By buying it from an annoymous small dealer it could have been ragged about by anyone and even spanked a coupl of times. Well if your not bored by the length of this post your help would really be apprciated!! Bye for now, A new fan!
