  1. Often referred to as Volkswagen RNS 510 Regensburg syndromeHome of Volkswagen I believe
  2. My Yeti is a year old tomorrow, 20K came up on the mileometer this morning. I have enjoyed every minute of driving it. At 9K mies I changed the tyres to Goodyear all seasons contemplating a wintery trip to the Lake District . Although I did not have the chance to try out in the snow, I am pleased with the wear and grip afforded by these tyres. The fuel consumption is quite pleasing as is th performance and the DSG box. My only complaint: The Columbus unit when it does a dynamic re-route seems to get stuck in a verbal merry-go-round constantly re-routing and telling me. A stop/restart of navigation clears the problem. Small price to pay for a brilliant car.
  3. Does anyone know whether the larger discs fitted to the [old] 170 are fitted to the [new] 150 - my money says not ...........
  4. Gender: Male (TRUE) Age: 60-plus (TRUE) Region: Northern Scotland (SE England) Profession: Military and Defence (IT) Sports: Sailing (Martial Arts) Hobbies: Trekking/hiking (Photography, cars, reading) Shops at: Co-op (What's a shop)
  5. If you use the car configurator it does not come up as an option - some I am wondering whether you are "using" it corrrectly, or xpecting something different - I find when I come to a halt a hard press of the brake pedal generally allows me plently of time to move my foot from brake to accelerator (ie HHold active) - it does not hold the car if you take your foot of the accelerator you must apply the brake again to activate it or feather the throttle. Just a thought.
  6. It is needed with DSG (imho and if you are not a left foot braker) as it does not work like a conventional auto that will hold you on an incline. The clutches disengage (I believe to save wear) when the brakes are applied and the car has stopped. Moving from brake to accelerator means the clutches have to re-engage causing a momentary loss of motion to the drivetrain and roll-back occurs. I had to purchase HHold on my 170 DSG L&K but the next brochure it was standard with the inevitable cost increase added. Having owned DSG cars with and without HHold I would always advocate getting it. As for whether it is standard on a Monte Carlo with DSG I cannot help - shame if it isn't there as I find it very useful.
  7. After 13,062 miles just completed my best brim to brim figures in my 170 DSG 4x4 of over 47 mpg for 510 miles driving.
  8. Pilkington unt to be fitted Friday - thanks for the reminder with regards to wipers - good call .
  9. Wanting to understand availability [in stock, had to wait, still waiting] , how long it took, problems etc.,
  10. I may have got this wrong, but didn't the FL Yeti also add bay parking to the Park Assist function, the pre FL offering only parallel parking on cars fitted with this feature.
  11. Just returned from a one week stay in Ambleside. Boy, is the YETI a popular car up there. There were three within 50 metres of the cottage I was staying in and plenty seen around the town, Kendal and Windermere. The cottage owner next door was a keen YETI owner and was interested in the differences between his pre facelift and mine. What a beautiful area. 312 miles each way, two up with luggage and driving at a steady 75mph on the motorways, including the M6 toll road resulted in an average touching 40mpg which is not bad really I suppose.
  12. Thanks all for reponses, Skoda Recovery on their way. Most probably go and 1) get a bigger battery fitted and 2) disconnect camera overnight whilst in garage. Never had this problem with prior two Superbs. I am sure it doesn't help the initial battery load having headlights on during start process when lights in Auto mode. Off to the Lake District tomorrow (from SE London) so made me slihtly nervous now.
  13. Today, jumped in the car and it failed to start with a flat battery. The car has been used very little the last ten days and I do have a camera in the car that is permanently on. I usually do 500-700 miles a week so the car usually has a good run to recharge the battery. My question is: Can I fit a bigger battery and what would people recommend (besides disconnecting the camera when stopped) ?
  14. Not quite a vRS, but I changed in July 2014 from a V6 3.6 4x4 DSG Superb to a 170CR Yeti Outdoor 4x4 DSG. The Yeti is certainly noisier although a recent tyre change (4Seasons Goodyear) has quietened the noise a little. i like the torque of the CR diesel engines but I do miss the top end power. It takes a long time to get to optimal running temp in the winter. The electric seat adjustment was a must for me to get a really comfortable driving position (6' 4" [1.93 Metres] and bad back etc.,) Love being able to slide in/out of seat rather than stooping down etc., Enjoying the improved economy
  15. I find that there is at least a 5 mpg difference between 60 and 70 mph. I still cannot grumble at the economy of my DSG equipped 170 CR Diesel, but I do drive 90 % of my time on A/M roads at 70 mph max. I do find wet weather to be the worst time for good fuel consumption, but I suppose, lights, aircon, wipers etc., all add to draw power and ruin consumption figures.
  16. Already at 11K miles in a tad over six months - really great car.
  17. Searched high and low on the Forum but could not find anyone recommending a bulb set that works. Apologies if a repeat post, but would appreciate any advice or previous posts on this subject.
  18. I am confused - why is Kessy less secure ? I cannot leave the key in the car and lock the doors, I cannot start the car without a key in the car ( which also unlocks the electro-mechanical steering lock), I have all the lock/unlock combinations through the maxidot a car with a key has, yet I have the convenience of not having to get the key out of my pocket on arrival at the car and I do not have a set of keys jangling in the lock as I drive along. Once in the car with the doors locked the doors cannot be opened from the outside so what is the issue. Oh, I know the TV and tabloid press say they are easy targets. What they fail to say is the technology needed to do this is quite sophisticated tool 1) to get in the car and 2) to fool the car there is a valid key in the car. It's that old adage, you will never stop a determined thief no matter what alarm, key system, garage etc., you have - if they want your car they'll get it. Keyless or not.
  19. I have looked at Fuelly and for some reason on the link it is displaying/converting to US Gallons, as the Yeti only has a 60 litre tank and some of those fill-ups come out at 65 litres. I normally fill up at around 530-540 miles and around 55 litres of fuel. Will clean car this weekend and take some pictures for you !
  20. What sort of mileage do you get as at the bottom of your post states 45.5 UK MPG and when i go into your Fuelly it shows high 30's. ..................... Do not know why Fuelly is wrong but I am averaging 45+ mpg Can you help me to understand how I should drive to keep the MPG decent ..................... Let the DSG do its job, and do not exceed 65-70 on motorways Can I believe the manufacturer figure for MPG? ..................... never have done since I read what they can do during test (adjust brakes to avoid pads touching disks, tape up bodywork gaps, switch of all electrics etc) In terms of the face my opinion is divided i like how the Pre F/L face and the lights really went well with how the car is designed. But I don't think the new face is bad either. Hows the brown leather inside . Do you like how the leather looks? .................... prefer a lighter colour but not unhappy with colout at all Also does the columbus sat nav have voice control? .................... yes I Should have got the electric seats but the kids wanted font seat rear trays, MDI and Rear Camera. .................... you wait till they see autopark in action !!!
  21. I have the 170 CR outdoor 4x4 L&K with DSG in Jungle Green with a number of extras, Delivered July 8th this year I am just approaching 6K (s)mlles. I love the gearbox/engine combination. It is more economical around town than I anticipated, but mildly dissappointed with it's motorway fuel consumption. Hardly surprising when you think about the shape though. Interestingly it gets to normal operating temperature a lot quicker than my previous, similarly equipped, Superb - that is a bonus. I love the driving position and (I know this will not go down too well with many Yeti fans) I do prefer the looks of the face lift model. I am 6' 3" (193 cm) and find the headroom great, The sunroof is icing on the cake. I hope you enjoy your car as much as I am enjoyng mine. You will enjoy getting to grips with all the little features that make this car a true GEM.
  22. Maybe its me, but for the sake of £100 is it really worth the risk ? I value the life of my wife, children, grandchildren and passengers over the additonal £100 cost.
  23. Parking assist - bay function, came with the Facelift model, I believe, prior to that only parallel parking was available ...........
  24. On the FL model it is Maxidot => Settings => Lights and Vision => Daytime Dri Lights - Page 30 of manual
