  1. You were totally right. It was fuses #7 and #10. They were not bad but one of them was not seated properly in its socket. Once I pulled them out and put them in again the dashboard lights went away and the abs is working great. Really thanks for your help you saved me a lot of money. Now to give the garage a piece of my mind.
  2. Checked them all and they look fine. Sadly I think fuses may not be the issue. Is it possible that the aftermarket break pad sensor malfunctioned and the car wrongly thinks the pads are worn out so its throwing this error?
  3. I already checked the abs fuses in the main fuse box #4 and #48 and they are fine. The battery fusebox has only 6 fuses. Is there somewhere else in the engine bay that has more fuses? I attached a picture of the only fuses I know of above the battery.

  5. I own a 2009 roomster with esp and 16 inch alloy wheels size 205/45 . I've had many problems with them and changed all 4 tires twice in less than 100000 kms due to tire balloons forming. Lastly I've done 3 changes to the car in for short period of time and I think one of them broke my abs controller 1 I changed to non standard tire size 205/55 r16 2 I installed an aftermarket brake pads ebc green stuff 3 changed battery after it worked with diminished capacity for one week. Then sometime back I hit a speed bump at 70 km/h while breaking. The esp and brake lights lighted up and stayed up since then and the abs system no longer works. The garage says I nned a new abs controller but I'm afraid to get a new one without knowing for sure what broke the old one. Did the non standard tire size do that or the aftermarket breake pads or the faulty battery. Please help.
  6. I'm facing the same issues you had in getting an RCD 510 unit to work with my 2009 roomster. the unit does not switch off with the car, it switches of by itself every 30 minutes and i'm not getting the song and radio information of the dashboard screen like my dance used to do. i was hoping you can answer a couple of questions 1-were you able to connect the radio antenna? the antenna plug was different from the one i had on the dance and i think a adapter is needed. 2-did you face any battery drain with the radio antenna connected? i understand that the radio antenna is powered and maybe that is the reason some guys face battery drain with the radio. 3-did you try configuring the radio via vcds? i read somewhere that the car needs this to correctly identify the radio. check this link on VCDS, http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Skoda_Radio_Navigation_System_(Columbus)#Coding thanks in advance for your help.
  7. I hope someone can help as I see no solution other than buying the vcds kit and trying to fix it myself. http://store.ross-tech.com/shop/cat/VCDS.html
  8. i created a new thread for a motevo unit i installed. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/276265-replaced-dance-radio-with-motevo-unit-need-your-help/
  9. i have a 2009 roomster highline which has a dance radio unit and calls bluetooth capability. i've recently installed a new aftermarket radio unit from china called Motevo. it is one of the best aftermarket units and comes with a canbus interface so almost all the steering wheel radio buttons work. http://www.motevomobile.com/product.asp?id=97 i've made an ""awful !! " youtube review on it is originally for the VW passat or jetta, but fit perfectly with my roomster. i have no issues at all with the unit itself and it works great. of course it does not integrate with the dashboard screen, so i don't see song name, radio station name or the likes, which is fine but there is another problem. apparently the car is expecting some kind of feedback signal from the radio, which is missing from this aftermarket unit, and this has caused the dashboard screen to ""hang up" on the phone screen. it keeps showing the "insert phone message"and will not switch over to the MFD screen showing trip distance, trip time, fuel consumption and external temperature. whatever buttons i press, the MFD screen will show for max of 1-2 seconds and then return back to "phone" screen. this was not the normal behaviour when dance radio was installed, as i was able to switch to the mFD screen easily by pressing the mode button once. i hope you can help me gain access to my MFD screen again. if you have any questions on the Motevo unit i'd be glad to help.
  10. No warnings at all. But then again I didn't get any in the old cheap xenon kit also.
  11. Well , if you check my very first post, you will see that I really don't have of choice as I have only one h7 bulb used for both high and low beams. A very bad design choice from skoda I must say. The new roomsters from 2010 onward had two separate bulbs, not the ones from 2007 till 2009. And the problem is compounded for models with projector headlights like I have. Actually, for sometime I thought about selling my 2009 roomster and buying a 2012 model just for the better light. Well, light problem is now over for me. Next step.... Breaks upgrade.
  12. Hi all Just wanted to tell you the last progress. I took dieselv6's advise (thanks man) and bought 75w 4300k H7 HIDs from ebay. 88$ cost + 15$ shipping. i just installed them today and the difference is phenomenal. I used to have one of the worst light intensity beams for both low and high beams, and i now i have one of the best!!! the kit had a relay cable so there is no extra load on the original light connections and everything runs cool. I took some pictures to show the difference against the 55w night breakers and the 35w xenons i used to have. I hope you find this post useful and please tell me if you have any questions. PS: please take into consideration that the camera (Nokia 808) adjusts its light sensitivity to the amount of light produced by the lamp. the beams from night breaker may appear weak in comparison to the 75w HID, but it is actually not bad if i photograph it by itself. so just compare difference in light intensity, not absolute light intensity .upload.zip
  13. wow!! Thanks for this great information. I will definitely look for those now.
  14. i already installed a xenon kit and i saw a good difference. My main issue with xenon is that i still did not get the level of "brightness" i was hoping for. The light distribution was much better but looked very bluish and kinda weak. After ready a bit i realized that probably the cheap ballasts installed are not providing full 35w power. So i will purchade a couple of good quality ballasts from amazon and will post here you if it makes much difference
