68 plate Octavia estate SE L 2.0TDI DSG, only 5k on the clock. OK, spec is full LED lights, rear parking sensors, front assist, cruise control, Amundsen infotainment with sat nav, 17 inch alloys, Android Auto, Apple Carplay, USB, Leather and microsuede upholstery, 4 genuine rubber floor mats. Now to find a proper bootliner as it has been kept immaculate!

Hi guys, 68 plate Octavia estate 2.0 tdi dsg I'm looking at has 17 inch alloys, but only the puncture repair kit. What size would a full size steel wheel be, as looking online I can only see 16" and 18"?

Cracking replies guys, thankyou! Are there any Skoda models that have a speed limiter or is it just cruise control with a setable speed warning? Not a deal breaker for me but very useful with the variable speed limits on the motorways!

Looking at changing my 11yr Pug 308SW in the very near future. An Octy Estate TDI DSG is on my shortlist. One think I would like are LED headlights, but as the specs listed on sites like Autotrader are taken from a 3rd party database, there is no guarantee that the spec listed actually match that of of the car. Is there a date cutoff before which headlights were likely to be Xenon rather than LED? Any particular trim levels that I should focus on?

Hi guys, if you had 2 identical cars (same age, spec, mileage, condition) and one had the 2.0TDI DSG 150ps variant and the other one had the 184ps variant, which would go go for, and for a resale value, which do you think would likely retain more of their value?

Apparently (according to the dealer) they are required to tell all customers of these optional extras, by the FCA so they treat all customers equally. Another dealer has notified me of a similar vehicle they have access to (they can buy it in for me) but require a £100 deposit to show a commitment to buy (although I can get a refund if the car is not up to standard rather than something like I don't like the colour)???

Hmm Ireland were possibly thinking they would be in a NZ V Ire final he he I'm a Wales supporter, France could be an interesting challenge!

Painful experience with a dealer (ok a Seat dealer as looking at a Seat Leon ST TDI DSG). Car advertised as just under £13k. Enquired on the phone about a used Seat Leon ST that they were about to receive which looked a good price. Sales staff went away and phoned me back having "crunched some numbers" and somehow the cost of the vehicle became £2k more expensive! A few optional extras plus their fees. What are their fees for? I challenged them on that and they said that it is an £89 fee for selling the car to a customer, which funnily enough they don't advertise. Certainly lost me as a potential customer as any trust I had in that company has gone. I believe that the advertised price should be what the customer can buy the car for, including any overheads that the business have for running their company. When you go shopping to a department store, do you expect the store to then add on things like "arrangement fees" when you get to the till? 😠

Spot on and that is what has swayed me from going for a Peugeot 308 SW (and the Peugeot touchscreens are really unresponsive!) and back to the VAG group - Seat Leon ST I think, 184PS TDI DSG, which I drove recently and I liked it - a lot! Gave me fond memories of my old Skoda Fabia VRS and being able to adjust the blowers and the temp without really having to look at it for me is a big bonus!

I would go for the tdi personally. Have driven albeit a Seat Leon 1.4tsi dsg and a Leon 2.0tdi (184) dsg - both 6 speed - and the tsi was no slouch, but the mid-range torque of the tdi, especially when joining a dual carriageway more suits my manner of driving. I don't like having to floor the pedal to get up to speed in a hurry, and tdi oomph of the tdi made getting out of trouble much easier. Having so many people round where I live who seem to join a 70mph dual carriageway at 30-40 mph or sometimes from a standing start, I would rather have that extra oomph especially if there is a limited space in the traffic to go for without having an HGV doing 60 approaching one's derriere at a rapid rate of knots!

Whilst I am tempted by the new Skoda Scala, for less money (c£16k or under) it looks like I could get a fairly new used Octy DSG etstate, with lowish mileage. Would you go for the 2.0TDI or the 1.5TSI? Performance, economy and C02 look fairly similar, but it looks like the government really isn't diesels friend on other emissions. My car tax renewal for my 09 Peugeot 308SW 2.0HDI has just come in at £290! Hence why I'm thinking a turbo petrol might be the way forward. What are the pros and cons you've found of the the TDI or TSI DSG Otcy estate?

I'm possibly going to be changing my car in the next few months and a used Octy TDI DSG estate might be in the running. I had forgotten about the VW Group emissions scandal. Were any Briskodian's Skoda TDI's affected, and if so, how serious were the problems and were they expensive to fix?

Hi all, I'll eyeing up a used Skoda Octavia estate SE L TDI DSG for when my current 308 SW become uneconomical to keep running (hopefully once my house renovation has been finished - it's great for doing trip runs!). Although the SE L often seems to be the recommended trim level, am I right in thinking that it has LED lights front and back? Having seen a What Car report on the cost of replacing LED headlights compared to just replacing a blown standard halogen bulb, how long have you found the LED headlights (usually the dipped beam ones) last and how much was it to replace them? Ta muchly!

I saw it at the cinema and watched it with the parents last night. I thought it was both jaw droppingly good and Peter Jackson and his team had been both thorough in covering the range of subject matter, didn't pull any punches but also treated the people and subject matter with respect. I was also stunned into silence. As the for the technical job his team did, just wow.

Hi all! Just rejoined after a few years in the wilderness having sold my ageing Fabia vRS a few years ago. Still got the Pug 308 SW which I do love and it is a lovely car and great workhorse, but it is knocking on a bit too and might need replacing in the next 12 months. So, I'm thinking of coming back into the Skoda fold and going for an Octavia DSG in the not too distant future as I prefer driving an auto or semi auto. Anyhow, that's enough of my waffle for now :)

Had an episode round my way last night, saw neighbour's cat being harrassed and spat on by 2 little scrotes, one of which I believe to be one of my other neighbour's kids (only early primary school age) is allegedly already know to the local constabulary. If went and picked up said cat (who is a friendly little thing) and took her home and informed her owners. I have a couple of cat scratches to show for my good deeds, moggy doesn't like being picked up, but think they were more out of displeasure than malice. Hopefully she'll forgive me, and I have a big box of cat biscuits for next time I see her! You can see that such little scrotes are on a downward spiral to becoming bigger big scrotes - deep joy. Just hope they learn their lesson at some point!

Hi y'all i'm looking for a new laptop to replace my 6 yr old Acer, which the screen is constantly flickering and whiting out on and would cost me at least £100 to fix, and that's if it stays fixed! So, looking at a new laptop, don't really want touchscreen (got a tablet and phone for that functionality). Finding the choice out there a bit bewildering with all the versions of the i3/i5 chips (are they better than the AMD equivalents?), ideally 13-16" screen, optical drive if poss, and at least 4gb ram and 500mb HDD. What difference is ther between a standard hard drive and the new SSD drives? Sony, Asus (won't go for another Acer, not impressed with reliability or build quality), Lenovo, HP, Toshiba, Samsung (if they do any in that price range?). I will mostly be web browising, photo editing, word processing, maybe the odd game. Cheers

Evenin' all, I'm giving Sky unlimited Broadband the elbow, just wondering which ISP to move to. i do work from home and as have ditched Sky TV will be using the likes of Netflix more I'm in Manchester, not interested in Virgin as don't want them drilling in their new cables and all that faff. Don't want any throttling of line service and would need no usage cap too. Current download speed is 7.81mb/sec, upload 1.26mb/sec Have seen a tempting deal from EE with Cashback (but have heard a few horror stories about cashback not being paid and ****-ups with the transfer of ISP). Is it worth going to fibre? Who would you lovely people recommend? Cheers
