Including the service that price is incredible! Even without it would be very good.

I had mine done at Russell Automotive Centre near Hendon. Good service from there -
Dealer servicing with wrong oil.
Octy-KUT replied to ryo hazuki's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Yes I did - gave up fighting in the end and just paid to get it done at an independent specialists. Some dealers really are charlatans! -
It's not a 3G SIM (USIM) by any chance is it? If so try setting your phone to GSM only mode (but you'll lose high speed data and video calling if you use them).

Window Rubber, behind Wingmirror
Octy-KUT replied to GAFF's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
My car has has this issue since new - although I haven't noticed any noise because of it. Stealer didn't really care and just said "all Octavias are like that"! -

Might be the storage box above the centre air vents... might made a similar noise -
Synchromesh problem on first gear

Happens every so often on my 1.9 as well. Strangely enough also on my 5-speed 1.8 petrol Passat a few years back. -
Octavia Scout - anyone seen one?
Octy-KUT replied to KJB's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Oops! I'm too tired - I was writing about the Roomster. "Had one as a courtesy car when my Octavia was in for a service. Not really my kind of car anyway, but I wasn't impressed at all. Interior build was rather poor and it rattled like crazy!" -
Bare tension wires in passenger seat belt
Octy-KUT replied to *CJ*'s topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
They are indeed - the sheath on the driver's side is to cover up the wiring for the seatbelt sensor. -

Help adjust main beams - not align
Octy-KUT replied to bosnjo's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Very detailed guide - thank you One more thing - is there a foolproof way to disconnect the cable. I know I'm using the wrong technique because I tend to have to fiddle for ages and then it will suddenly come away with very little force! -
Help adjust main beams - not align
Octy-KUT replied to bosnjo's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Please do explain the step by step procedure bosjno, my left headlight has been slightly out since day one. Is there adjustment for up/down as well? I think it may be sitting a little too low as well. Thanks for your help -
It's something better... readily available in Halfords etc. and don't give up! My creaky rattles haven't come back and the seals are certainly different to the originals.

Sorry for the delay in posting folks. I've been a little busy having just started a new job. I got the door seals replaced with the modified parts a fortnight ago. They feel rather different to the old seals - silky would be one way to describe them. These ones haven't been lubricated (went through all that with the old ones!). They DO appear to have solved the problem. I'll keep you posted.

Car is going in next week to get the modified seals fitted - I shall keep you posted. -
Does anyone have an English Owner's Manual
Octy-KUT replied to Silk's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Depends what you mean by problem! It is a little broken in places, but by and large is understandable. You should have seen VW manuals in the 80s! -
Yes, week one is the 1st week of January - the car build week is on the same basis

Usually 8-10 weeks

I was offered the product free of charge as a deal clincher and it is quite good. I wouldn't pay for any such sealant from a dealer however, as you can DIY for much less

ASR - Anti-slip regulation = TCS - Traction control system

Could it be the alternate frequency (AF) function choosing between a choice of two (or more) transmissions of the same station? Try switching it off and see what happens.

Thank you davidi, I have been looking for a dry lube for a while. Hopefully I won't need it for much longer as (mentioned in another thread) modified seals are on their way.

Congratulations chowy - Happy motoring!

Understood... a definite fault then. Hope it gets fixed soon
