  1. Can anyone advise me please. My Fabia VRS is running 170 bhp following a remap. I'm reasonably happy with the performance, but was considering improving the induction system. Two options currently in my mind are : a. P160 intake and a pipercross or similar replacement flat panel filter, with possibly drilling holes in the bottom of the filter casing to further increase airflow. This worked well on my rover 420 turbo and my 220 coupe turbo. b. Fitting a K and N or Venom induction system. My concerns with the induction system is that it won't benefit from the forced air port that serves the current system. Has anyone any thoughts please. Thankyou PT Cornwall.
  2. has not set their status

  3. Can anyone throw any light. My recently acquired 06 Fabia VRS gave over 60 mpg on a recent 400mile journey. However on the return journey the consumption dropped to high 40s and has remained there. The only possible anomalies noted were on two occasions, when stopped at the roadside looking for directions with the engine running, it seemed to over speed at idle, but then settled. Also I now have noticed that when stationary, but at very low rpm, say 1100, the car / engine seems to shake a little. This clears when 1500 rpm is reached. This may have always been the case of course. The car has done 42,000 miles. The only engine mods done prior to my ownership was a Jabbasport remap which gives about 170 BHP. I have a suspicion that the overall performance has lost its edge a bit too. Thanks Peter T Cornwall

  5. Had my VRS Fabia as a replacement for my Rover 220 Coupe Turbo for about 10 months. Whilst not such an animal as the Coupe, I am quite pleased with the package. She is an 06 model with about K40 motorway miles. Previous pwner had a Jabbasport remap, which according to them gave 185 bhp. However, a rollers check suggested more like 170 bhp, but both torque figures were similar at about 300lb ft. I've fitted a Spax on car adjustable suspension, EBC front discs, and Greenstuff pads all round, plus Nightbreaker main bulbs and Phillips extreme dips. But the best upgrade of all has been the full leather interior by The Seat Surgeons of York. The quality of their work is faultless, absolutely brilliant, and I would recommend them to anyone. My Fabia is now a very different car. The only other mod that I may fit, is a sunroof, but at best that will have to wait until next summer. I now have a quality fun package, which will run rings around a Golf, but at half the price.
