  1. I know nothing over the next man about paint finshes but common sense is screaming that matt finish + road grime etc. is not going to be easy to maintain?
  2. As the saying goes - if it seems to good to be true...........it probably is. I recently sold a car back to the dealers where I bought it, there was nothing wrong with it on paper, no accidents, everything worked etc. but it was just a Friday afternoon car, rattles, wouldn't start occasionally, dash lights intermittently etc. etc...
  3. Unfortunately this rule:- A car worth more than double yours; as long as it doesn't conflict with the 'Never' rules means that you will find anyone in a cheaper end small car, C1, IQ etc... will park next to any car worth 16k upwards. As mine falls into this >16k category I insist you revise said rule immediately
  4. I'd like to know, just for the record why a wheelspin is careless driving?
  5. I disagree Calomax. I've never been dazzled by someone else front fogs. If I had, I wouldn't use mine. I have been dazzled by these relatively new, projector style lights though. Whether xenon or halogen they do seem exceptionally bright.
  6. Sorry Ken, this is not my experience. I am sure I would be aware if I was being dazzled by my own lights! AFAIK front fog lights are designed so as not to bounce back off the fog like headlights do? I am not a lighting professional, just my experience.
  7. When I'm driving on unlit roads I usually put the front fogs on. They don't dazzle anyone and I want as much light as possible on the road ahead! One could argue that the fact it is dark is 'seriously reduced visibility' from daylight! I agree that rear fogs left on are dazzling though. One observation I have made in my vehicle is that the rear fogs have a dashboard warning light whereas the fronts do not, they just have a small green light on the switch itself.
  8. It's just dirt. I don't like the lights though
  9. Well done Phillip. Obviously the old ways are still the best!
  10. Feeling for your grandparents mate. That area of Leeds is quite bad. ALL my experience of crime is in that area of Leeds. With the proximity of the mahoosive Police building, you'd think it would be quite safe. I tend to think it isn't the 'Leeds Scum' that cause problems, it is people who now live in that area from other countries that cause the problems. I hope they get it back, err no actually I hope they get anything of sentimental value back and enough money from insurance to buy something VAG
  11. Try browsing this site mate - there's plenty of tips and stuff on how to get scratches etc out of paint. A world for detailers...
  12. Cheers mate and yes I'd noticed. When I bought it, it had those tyres on. The fronts are the same and the two rears are different.
  13. I think they look naff unless you get a 'proper' private plate. i.e. a very old one without any prefix or suffix. I really think it cheapens a car when it has a standard plate that almost means something. Just my opinion.
