  1. The sun is/was shining and he now has a softtop Vauxhall.......?
  2. Apparently Steed was a bit of a reluctant driver....but regardless there are lots of really nice cars from this era usually on display in the Avengers, unless you are easily distracted elsewhere of course..
  3. That new Toyota SUV Hybrid thingy , surely it has been "designed" by a 10 yr old with an etch-a-sketch and a blunt pencil..?

  4. 2016..........?? When did that happen..! sorry mate.
  5. The ST line is available with the 5 dr, 140 option.
  6. The local Garden Centre seems to have seemlessly moved from "Its Summer BBQ time" to "Its Christmas Time" overnight.

They've done it before October. I believe you are legally obliged to burn the store to the ground now.

I'm afraid all us retailers are at it. Apparently, customer research dictates that we all want to buy baubles and trees now...

Boots was starting to load shelves with Xmas crap at lunchtime. I'm going back later on with some petrol and matches.

  7. Honestly.....the "BBC Weather App" is about as much use as a chocolate fire guard.

If I click on the 'map key' Eastbourne apparently has a light risk of snow today (it's currently 26c in the coolest part of my house.

Met office spot on??, you must be using another one to me as its hopeless

  8. Having now seen about a half dozen Jaguar F Pace around and about I can confidently confirm it sure looks like a Kia.

  9. Having spent a lot of time recently in new car showrooms I have been shocked at the gigantic proportions of some SUV's.., no doubt this explains why some drivers of them truly believe they are "kings of the road"..!..?

Some of these folk drive SUVs as though they're in a Sherpa tank. Last week one of them jumped a red light on a busy road, which I was about to join from the minor road. Silly me, fancy imagining that a green light gave me the right of way??? Thank goodness for seat belts, or my sudden heavy breaking would have caused my head to make a dent in the windscreen.

  10. In todays "tyre kicker & new car showroom lurker report"....I can confirm to any interested parties that the new Suzuki Baleno is a nice shape and relatively roomy but a bit doo doo inside..my money would be on a Fabia.

  11. Hi Dave, I am sure that others will have touched on the technical side of the ownership experience, from my brief tenure with a VRS estate (only a few months ) the stand out negative issue to be aware of is the surprisingly harsh ride. It isn't a problem for many but certainly check it out before purchase would be my advice.
  12. My neighbours Fiesta is 3 yrs old this month, his road tax renewal letter included a "this vehicle requires an MOT" note in the info section, so in essence a reminder....?
  13. Just finished clambering all over the new MG GS SUV at the local dealers...I have to say for the money it don't look half bad.

  14. According to the lady doing the voiceover in the latest TV/Radio ads there is now an "R" in the middle of "Fabia"...anyone get the memo about this change.....?

  15. One phone call and a bit of a whinge results in a 50 quid reduction in the car insurance premium..isn't it a bit bloomin stupid that we have to do this dance every year...?

Apparently it's "too hard" for almost any company to give their best deals to continuing customers.

Made the same phone call to my insurance company and got the same result. Was told "It gives the Company the opportunity to review individual circumstances". Yeah... sure...

Never have to do it with my insurance broker (though I ring others for comparison), they give their best quote first time and generally beat others :)

  16. They are generally pretty good, I sympathise with your "noisy neighbour" issue....A while back staying in one while working away (Oh the glamour...) I watched a couple of episodes of Star Trek back to back before going off for food/beer. Back in the room the guy next door had the same episodes on really loud and then again at about 2 am, by now I knew what was going to happen to Capt. Kirk off by heart. I resorted to banging on his door in my pants (not a pretty sight) and telling him in a robust manner that he might like to find his remote control. The guy was so apologetic, he had fallen asleep and couldn't have been more contrite. I felt like a bit of a bully afterwards. One of the great things about Brisky is how these random threads throw up these memories...!!....Thanks..
  17. This morning I have watched a Delorean trundle down our local high St and then had to avoid Jimmy Osmond who was chatting away on the pavement.....it doesn't get much more exciting than that surely...?

  18. Apparently the small bag of "Pork Crunch" I ate last night contains enough gramms of fat to potentially kill me outright..whatever happened to those far off days of being able to eat processed foods without having to scrutinise the titchy print on the label ?

I buy the multipacks of 6 and eat the lot in one go :D

  19. While clearing out my decrepit old shed I have unearthed a "Benetton F1" cap...is it a collectors item..? also 2 sadly waterlogged boxes of cassettes.."Paul Young's Greatest Hit" anyone...?

  20. Apparently it is now compulsory for car magazines to use the term "Juke Rival" in every single issue.."Auto Express" currently hold the record with 47 times.

Rival for what? Best car for the blind? Funnily enough I'm working overseas with free choice of rental car - all the blokes have Mustangs and tge one bird is driving a Juke. Yuk!

  21. Why do you always start applying woodstain to garden fencing as if repainting the sistine chapel ceiling but soon progress to the throw it on and scrub method.?..oh and now its raining...

  22. I am sure that if you have a good look around the site you will be able to download the appropriate Fabia brochure, this will outline the standard spec and a list of available (at the time) extras. I purchased a new VRS estate in 2011 and spent a fair bit on things like climate, arm rest, storage boxes, rear e windows etc....not very clever as I sold it 5 mths later....an expensive lesson learned...!
  23. No doubt that is the case sometimes...but there is an element of protection for "the old ladys" who would otherwise have to trawl through "Yellow Pages" to find a possible likely lad who will rattle the case for 5 mins, insist it needs a new flux capacitor and charge an arm and a leg for the privilege.
  24. If you have a "Plumbing & Drains" type of cover added to your British Gas (or whoever..) annual service policy this type of repair may well be covered...?
  25. My wife has a fiesta titanium with the 123 bhp ecoboost engine, 2 years in no issues whatsoever. It is a cracking little car , 2 services so far about £140 a time ,no rattles or squeeks or things dropping off ! It is her 2nd fiesta and there is a lot of uninformed drivel around about Ford cars in general. Enjoy your new car.
