  1. Sorry , yes I did mean Front assist. It does alert me to its unavailability on the move from time to time.
  2. Good evening everyone. Recently on start up this logo shows as not available. On the console all the boxes are ticked as active however. Any thoughts please?
  3. My Fabia has reached 10000 kms: We received no service book with it, so any advice will be helpful. Thank you.
  4. Thanks for the replies: The purchase was made through a French site (I live there), one of those where quite large discounts can be had. There was no provision for and we didn't pay extra for, a service plan and never have done. So fingers crossed. A great little car though and we ended up with a much higher spec than we chose initially purely by chance.
  5. Now I've just spotted the warranty exclusions. Hmmm.
  6. My dealer has just told me that the first oil change should take place at 15000 kms but having done nearly 7000 already (in as many weeks) I think I might do it myself now. i normally change the oil on my Morgan at this period. Since the first inspection only checks oil; coolant and tyre pressure levels I don't see the point in paying for that. What do you all think and would you recommend a good oil for a 1.2 TSI ?
  7. Just by the by, our car has the logo Edition on the B pillar. Have not seen that listed in the brochures.
  8. It's lightfoot time for you then. I hope you enjoy it anyway.
  9. We are 5000 kms into our new 1.2 TSi. It is as writers say, very quiet and smooth and a hugely different car to the 1.9 SDI it has replaced. At the moment it has averaged 60mpg which seems much less than the previous car but acceptable. All in all it is very nice to drive. I preferred the heater controls one the previous cars as they could be operated by touch: I don't like having to take my eyes off the road to find the controls but I guess that I will learn where they are in time. I expect we all remember when in the seventies, rotary dials were constantly rubbished by journalists in favour of sliders and how we now have, well guess. This is my only gripe and I might be in the minority in not being terribly interested in the myriad mod cons that cars have now. The Fabias are really good cars and make a lot of sense.
  10. Hello everyone. We now have our 1'2 Fabia at home. It has 16" wheels, daytime running lights, front fog lights, sorts seats, three spoke steering wheel with various controls i.e cruise control and seems to conform to the SEL version but with Swing info system and no reversing sensors although it does have brake assist . A bit of a mishmash I feel although I'm not complaining. Maybe the French market is different. It is labelled Edition on the B pillars but I can't find any reference to this so far. Fuel seems to last for 700kms between fill ups but it is only a week old with 15km on the odometer when collected. First impression are very favourable, we had our last Fabia for eleven years and there has been a big change in the feel of the car: it is very lively, the materials inside will wear well I think. Because of ferrying young footballers around I opted to keep seat covers on the last one and cleaning mud from the fabric door cards wasn"t easy. All in all we view it in a positive way. Does anyone know the capacity of the fuel tank? I ran it down to fifty kms remaining and could get any more than 39.4 litres in. I hope that you new owners are enjoying yours. Ian.
  11. Hello all, We picked up our new Tsi 90 Black Magic yesterday and before any of my french colleagues scratch it I would like to get ahead of the curve. I looked in the boot under the carpet and have what might be the code. LF9R - 1Z1Z does that seem right? Thank you for any replies. Ian.
  12. Dithane, Thanks. With the SDi there is a lot of forward planning - no bad thing- so I'll be looking at the 90.Thanks for your reply.
  13. I am about to buy a new Fabia TSi after running an sdi break for the last eleven years and 300,000 kms. Would anybody be prepared to comment on the differences between the 60 and 90. The kilometrage will not be so great this time. Thank you in advance.
  14. Thanks for your replies. The pedal went straight to the floor. The engine is 1.9 SDI.The vehicle is now four years old. Thanks also for the welcomes.
  15. Hello, Both times it was a case of pedal to the floor. Combi is four years old, with discs at the front with drums at the rear.
  16. A couple of weeks ago my wife experienced a loss of brakes approaching a juction ( fortunately no one else was on the road). Subsequently the dealer could find no fault but changed the master cylinder, bled and checked the system. Last night I experienced the same thing. We would be grateful for any thoughts on this as I can't even sell it like this.
  17. A couple of weeks ago my wife reported loss of brakes at a junction (she was lucky no one else was on the road). Subsequent vist to the dealer found no fault but the master cylinder was changed and the system bled and checked. Last night I experienced the same thing.
