As the title suggests i noticed the plastic above the rubber seal so whilst tucking it back in noticed rust at the bottom of the seal. Has anyone this problem? I bought the car 5 months ago as an approved used skoda from Capital Skoda in Newport, dont suppose this would be any kind of warranty fix?

Hi all, been a while since i have been on here but my engine management light intermittently comes on and carrying out a diagnostics scan shows the following fault codes / descriptions. Any help with likely solutions and hopefully easy fixes would be appreciated! P2452 - Diesel particulate filter pressure sensor "A" Circuit. P1485 - Secondary air injecting valve 2 (N320) interruption. I am scanning it with a generic wifi 'thingy' plugged in with Carista software on my iphone. I can clear the faults which turns off the light but it usually returns within a couple of days. The car is a 60 plate Superb tdi 140 with 100k miles on the clock. Ideas and help would be appreciated, thanks.

Bough my used 2010 superb 2 months ago, had it 2 weeks when noticed odd sound. A new dmf, clutch and a reconditioned gearbox housing (clutch breaking up damaged it) later cost the garage I bought it off £1750!!! Just to cheer you up!

As per the original post, if anyone is local to me and can help it would be greatly appreciated!

My previous FL Octavia VRS had decent non HID lights, but on the Superb these appear aligned ok but are just very poor. I contemplated some Osram Nightbreakers but for a slightly bigger investment that may last longer I fancy the increased light of HIDs.

Only had the car for a few weeks but already fed up with driving round by candle light. Quite fancy some 4300k hids. I definatley dont want to enter into the age old debate on whether or not to install them or not. Basically I am looking for a friendly fellow member either in the West Oxfordshire area or North Swindon / Highworth area to help me install them plus negate any potential problems by using VCDS. I have the technical abillity of a 2 fingered monkey and would not know where to start. There is a garage relatively local to me that charge £130 for the conversion but if the kits most people buy off ebay are only £30 -60 then i would rather do this. Do i buy canbus 'friendly' or not? Your help really would be appreciated and shown with a few beers or a donation to the charity of your choice ;-)

Think I will give it a good metal brush and give it a coat of hammerite. The hose clips in various places should be easy to change. I thought maybe the car had been through deep water for there to be that much rust under the bonnet.

Should I be concerned that hose clips and the like under the bonnet appear with quite a bit of surface rust on? Also a cylinder that I don't know what it is has a lot of rust on the top. My former Octy Vrs has nothing like this.

Had a similar sounding problem with my old fabia vrs tdi, was a pipe from or to the turbo that had popped off. Check all plastic/rubber piping and if that's the problem re-secure and strengthen with zip ties if your worried about it coming off again. I might be stating the obvious but I thought my car was trashed till I noticed the disconnected pipe!
