Removing Combi tailgate inner panel
scruffybadger replied to scruffybadger's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Thanks both, that's great. Mine's out of warranty now (just expired in June, just before we did 3000 miles over to the French alps...when the rattle started) - I'll have a fiddle as you suggest and see what I can sort out. Cheers, Graham -
Hi everyone I've got a 2008 Scout. It's developed an irritating rattle which I have traced to the inside of the bootlid. I guess either a screw or piece of trim has come loose and is now free to rattle and roll around the inner parts of the lid. I've tried a few tricks to get the inner trim off - to see if I can fish it out - to no success. Any ideas? Thanks Graham

Very interesting - we've noticed week-long trends in the fuel consumption and indeed, delta925, we've had exactly the same experience. Ours is now a 2011 1.6CRTDI 105bhp elegance estate. I hadn't connected it to the DPF regen but that would make sense. I have to say I'm a bit disappointed with the fuel economy generally on this car. I've got a very light right foot and would easily sometimes reach 70mpg on our 2006 1.9TDI elegance estate MK1 - but now struggle up to 60.

I have a personal interest in not being removed, thankyou very much! My grey and white stripes are thought of as being very distinguished, can't imagine why you'd want rid of them.

Picked up my beauty today !

Very nice We've ordered the same colour/estate but with the 1.6CRTDi in an elegance spec waiting on them actually deciding to build the bloomin thing -
Hi everyone I had an interesting experience on Saturday. After a very wet drive from Inverness to Glasgow on Friday night (lots of surface water, spray, wind, deer, more deer, and a bit of rain+++!) I drove the Furby into Glasgow city centre. I had to negotiate a flood on Great Western Road, ironically outside the "Pond" Hotel. Most cars were getting through it fine in the right lane. As I was making my way through it an HGV came flying down the left lane and straight through the flood, throwing up a wall of water to the front of my car. We got through the flood fine and had no immediate problems. However I turned into one of the multi storey car parks and put the car into full steering lock to get round one of the ramps. At which point the warning lights all lit up on the dashboard and the power steering failed, the remainder of the warning lights went back out except for the steering one. I got it up the ramp and onto the next floor when (albeit perhaps stupidly) tried the windows restart - you know, switch off and back on again (Mrs Scruffy thought it might help, it appears to have happened to her once before). Of course, on a restart, nothing at all, electrics all fine from the dashboard end but no turn over. So, we pushed it into a space (thanks to the very helpful chap who came to assist - and did so with a smile!) and called the AA. The AA got it restarted and explained that the steering angle sensor was likely to have been inundated with water (as well as other contacts, all of which he dried out). My question is really, should I get it checked out again, or will there have been no permanent damage? It seems to be running fine again.

How many people have winter tyres?
scruffybadger replied to juan27's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Putting my first set of winter tyres on next week- ordered via the dealer (Delmore of Inverness) as interestingly they couldn't be beaten on price. I'm looking forward to seeing how much difference they make. We certainly never got stuck last year on normal Goodyears - but as Mrs Scruffy is a GP in a rural highland area, I'd rather not leave anything to chance. -
New skodas / new octavia!?
scruffybadger replied to scruffybadger's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Scuse ignorance... what's the felicia aimed at? A sub-Octavia market? If so looks quite cool, though a bit too much like a saloon fabia? -
New skodas / new octavia!?
scruffybadger replied to scruffybadger's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
yeah, thought that it might be a Laura replacement for the INdian market. the MPV on the link looks pretty cool -
Saw this via an indian website.. it confirms something Autoexpress reported a few weeks back. Thoughts? http://indianautosblog.com/2010/05/2011-skoda-octavia

pre-FL vs. FL wing mirrors
scruffybadger replied to Mute's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
have the new FL mirrors lost the puddle lights I have on my scout? Always thought that was a classy, nice touch. -
Aircon failure - 2.0TDI PD Scout
scruffybadger replied to scruffybadger's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Stuart - yep, it was hard, but it was a great achievement and felt good. SWMBO did get to drive the scout over it twice - she accompanied me with the support car carrying loads of water - it was 40 degrees after all! I think she rather enjoyed it...
