Just had the ‘add oil’ light flash up on my dash, checked the level and it’s about on the ‘minimum’ mark on the dipstick. current mileage is 4780!! can’t say I have added any oil to my past 3 cars in 6 years. any one else topping up around then with the 1.5 TSI?

Over the last few weeks the clutch on the car seems to have become very sharp, has very little feel and is now almost like an on/off switch. Car has only done 4500 miles. any one else have something similar?

So I was driving home on Friday, and was confronted with the air bag error light coming on. Pulled over and turned it off and on again lights comes back on. Went and picked the little one up from nursery, came back to the car and still the light persisted all the way home with the occasional ‘STOP’ coming up on the dash. Called out Skoda assist / AA and now I have a car that works for a few days. Let’s see what happens.

After dropping into my local Skoda dealer and speaking to the technician he said it probably just needs a hard reset via OBD. I would try the fuse suggestion but I Will let them have a go at sorting.

Car is booked In with the dealer in a few weeks to have all the issues sorted. After speaking to the service technician he acknowledged most of the issues are know and that there are updates / TPIs to fix. Let’s see what happens.

I have today contacted my local dealer and awaiting a response from technical.

My isn’t syncing with the phone app, nor is it allowing me to use the online Satnav functions.

Any one else suffering from the car not having an internet connection? I have tried everything and looked at every ‘privacy setting’. I even resorted to messaging Skoda UK who even after a few suggestions couldn’t help.

I haven’t had the opportunity to book it in with any local dealer to have a look at the issues. Secondly it’s not my car, it’s lease, the turning circle listed on a MK 4 estate 1.5 is 11.1 meters. my previous car was an Arona with 10m listed as the turning circle.

Yes I appreciate there are lots of posts already about the ‘fun’ features of the MK IV Octavia but I wanted to add my own, Car was built 2nd week of January 2021, it’s an 1.5 TSI 150 Se Tech estate manual, and here is a list of things that grind my gears about it. Engine surges on first start / cold start and kangaroos up the road. noisy transmission whine noisy bearing on a belt tensioner drivers seat reclines on its own speakers crackle loudly with parking sensors make sound. ACC stops working randomly Park assist stops working randomly reverse can be hard to engage rear tail lights flicker badly when engine is running, turn engine off and they are fine. LANE ASSIST - need I say any more. the way you have to press and enter menus to change the MFD / trip display information. Engine feels like it’s being limited on power at times, some days it goes like a train, other times it feels like it has no power, for example when you floor it in 3rd gear. being logged out of the drivers profile and having to input my email address and password once / twice a week. brake pedal clunks the first time you press it after the handbrake disengages. It has the worst turning circle of any car I have ever owned. These are just a few things that I have come across in the 6 weeks of ownership so far. I am sure there are more things to come.
