  1. I'm taking a 2.0 Tdi SE Tech Octavia Estate from the fleet pool for now.....arrives tomorrow! I enjoyed my last one but it was a bit vanilla, however I'll take steady and reliable with the bags of mid range grunt happily for now!
  2. It seems mine will be heading straight to auction once it's picked up from the dealer, God help whoever buys it 😲 I think they go through BCA so I shall be interested to see what it goes for....although they should not be allowed to put some poor unsuspecting soul at risk.
  3. Agree, otherwise they wouldn't be taking them back if there was a fix anytime soon, now mine has been rejected I'm taking an Octavia Estate out of the company pool 2.0TDi SE Tech Estate which will do for now while I decide what to do next, the company are changing the car options over the next few months so there may be some Hybrids on offer, failing that I may just opt out and buy something I like.
  4. I have a MY18 Karoq and within the first week of ownership I reported the issue(s) (kangaroo and stalling) to Lookers in Stockport, I made sure the mechanic drove the vehicle and not me....he agreed there was some Kangarooing and said I was the only person in the UK to report this issue. I came home and had a look on here and guess what? lots of other people had the issue. I went back to Lookers who this time contacted Skoda UK who stated this was a characteristic of the Engine. I then complained to Lex who had an 'independent' report carried out, the Engineer drove the vehicle and experienced the Kangaroo and in his words 'near stalls' he went away and said he would speak with Skoda, the report then came back stating the issues were a characteristic. I kept the pressure on and escalated to Skoda UK who were fairly helpful, I escalated the issue and in Feb they put me in a hire car. If anyone has an issue make sure you put it in writing about the cutting out at junctions and that the vehicle is dangerous, they can't be seen to ignore a dangerous fault and should react accordingly. Near 6 months on and STILL in the Skoda provided Hire Car with no fix in sight for the MY18 vehicles I asked Lex to reject the vehicle, Lex took their time but Skoda have accepted the rejection and offered some compensation. Now I need to find something as spacious with a BIK as low as the Karoq!
  5. They have accepted numerous rejections including mine, they are a utter disgrace going back to that line.
  6. Yes, my trips back and forth always meant the car was clean!
  7. I'm borderline really only 10k per year hence I went for the 1.5 Petrol, I'd imagine the emissions would be too high to make the petrol 2.0 a viable option as a company vehicle. With the diesel bashing and penalties increasing year on year I might well end up opting out of the car scheme and taking a non plug in Hybrid on a PCP deal so if the technology changes to say Hydrogen fuel cell then I'm not stuck with an expensive lemon, all electric would be no good as they just don't have the range (yet)
  8. How is the Tdi in comparison, kangaroo all gone? I had a 2.0Tdi in my 15 plate Octavia Estate (before the Karoq) is it still the same engine as that pulled really well?
  9. Lex called me yesterday and Skoda have agreed to the rejection and offered a bit of compensation, glad they have done the decent thing. Question is what to get next, I need as much space as possible but a low BIK.
  10. Same thing with me first time I tried to refuel, I ended up with the handbook out and then after much head scratching an old fashioned thump finally sorted it!
  11. I'm in the same boat, mine is via Lex and unless they choose to reject it there isn't much I can do, still in a hire car since Feb now! (Skoda UK paid for to be fair) Lex only in the past few weeks stopped the 'characteristic line' even though Skoda UK had taken the car off the road as long back as Feb. They are awaiting to hear back from Skoda is their current official line, I'll not hold my breath....... Lex don't want to upset Skoda it seems! It must be costing them a small fortune to put me in a 2.0 TSI 4wd Tiguan hire car , what is their long term plan I wonder? leave me in a hire car for the next 2 years and 1 month (remaining lease) then palm the car off via the auction (where all the collected Lex cars seem to go)
  12. I was getting nowhere near that before mine was confined to the dealership! although it may have something to do with my anti kangaroo start off method of driving like I have stolen it
  13. I am trying but my issue is it's a company vehicle via Lex, unless Lex reject the car nothing will happen. Lex had previously stated the 'Characteristic' line and even went to the trouble of getting an 'independent' company to check the car, the mechanic noticed the Kangaroo and it even cut out once and he was making all the right noises, the report to Lex stated the issues were noticed but that on consulting Skoda they were informed it is simply a characteristic of the engine and not dangerous (they neglected to mention the cutout) Lex clung on to this theory with grim determination until recently I escalated the case by CC'ing the MD in to the e-mail chain pointing out that if the car was indeed so safe why have a number been successfully rejected and why would Skoda at their own cost be putting me in a car that will probably be costing them well over £500 a month for the last 5 months if there was indeed no cause for concern. Lex have said they will try and reject the car but this was over a week ago and they are still awaiting Skoda's response, I'd suggest Lex need to be tougher and state we buy x Skoda from you, pull your finger out or we will not market your vehicles......however to me it stinks of 2 large corporate's who are reluctant to upset each other and Lex reluctant more so as they would not get a piece of the VAG pie,
  14. That is the million dollar question for me, different setup in the MY18 vehicles perhaps..... if there was a single version of software that resolved the cutout and the Kangaroo then surely all the MY19's would be fixed, but it's odd that some people just don't get the issue at all I agree.
