  1. Sitting around the 22 MPG mark at the moment, that's all town driving though giving it a bit here and there. I reckon after about 70 or 80 MPH it would be game over for the vRS in a drag race and if corners were involved it wouldn't stand much of a chance really.
  2. No mods, just tidying it up at the moment, do you know when cambelt needs changing? One thing it doesn't have is the same amount of shove when you floor it, I reckon my old mapped vRS would match it from 20 - 60. A remap should soon sort that out though!
  3. Its strange I wrote off my previous vRS a few years before (my own fault) and morethan (my insurance company at the time) asked me how much I thought it was worth which I said 5k as that's what I bought it for, and they paid straight out no questions asked! Admiral however appear to be a different story... Anyway's I was saving money for a new car anyway so have taken the plunge and bought myself a 2006 Ford Focus ST-3 which is just in a different league to the vRS (mainly the fuel costs which are turning out to be very interesting!)
  4. My cars now up for sale on the salvage company's website, so tempted to buy it back!! http://www.hbc.co.uk/cgi-bin/zyview/D=vehicles/V=bidding/R=4921771
  5. Just in case anyone was wondering they wrote it off in the end, repair bill was 4k apparently. They only offered 2.5k initially which I laughed at, eventually with both of us scrolling through autotrader I managed to get it up to 3100. Wasn't allowed to buy the car back apparently against their policy?
  6. Its got a fresh PD150 turbo in it along with a set of JOM coilovers with about 2k mileage on them and a fresh pair of Uniroyal Rainsport 2's on the front - I'm absolutely gutted! Is it worth buying it back off the insurance company if its a write off then?
  7. Yeh I'm fine, this is the second vRS in two years that someone has kindly written off for me, think someones trying to tell me something! What do you guys reckon I'll get off the insurance company? Its done just over 80k, almost FSH, I bought it for 4k and that's what I'm hoping to get back.
  8. Someone rammed into the side of me today, I've attached a pic - what do we reckon? write off?
  9. Yeh I bought a JBL package: ....As you can see it didnt go very well.
  10. I'm looking for recommendations for an audio setup for my Fabia vRS, got about £150 - £200 to play with. The only after market component I have so far is a Sony Head Unit (Sony MEX BT4700U). I'm guessing what I need is: Amp Sub Replacement Front/Back Speakers/Tweeters I have no idea what brands are good or bad or what spec things need to be...Any ideas?
  11. Had mine done there, guy came out to do it so I didn't even have to leave the house! Turbo went about 8k later but whether it was down to the remap I have no idea. It pulls really well to the red line and gets driven quite hard so I knew it would give up eventually.
  12. Yep I am, turbo went about 5k miles later, whether it is related I have no idea, did drive it pretty hard though. Replaced with a PD150 turbo now which (I hope) is much stronger.
  13. Whats the limit on the Mondeo ones, I don't really go lower than 40mm tbh
  14. Would really appreciate a reply on this, need to order asap to get my fabia back in action!
  15. So would these be ok: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-Ford-Mondeo-3-10-00-Stabiliser-Drop-Links-Front-/300659244481?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4600affdc1#ht_2117wt_1396
  16. Yeh defo need em mate, just trying to work out which ones I'm supposed to be buying!
  17. Just a quick one, just had JOM coilovers fitted but been told I need shorter drop links, I know mondeo ones are the ones to go for but can someone send me an eBay link? I've seen loads of links on here but all seem to have expired.
  18. Just bought a set of JOM coilovers but just wondering if theres anything else worth changing while I'm getting it done? I've heard top mounts and bushes are worth changing but wheres the best place to get them from?
  19. +1 I paid £540 + my knackered PD130 for a brand new PD150.
  20. Ah I see so I can keep the ballasts from my HID kit and just get new bulbs and connector leads?
  21. I think this has been covered before but just to clarify am I right in thinking my existing H7 HID kit wont fit into the Xenon headlights?

  23. So is the general consensus that the KW's are really twice as good as the JOM's? Out of interest what actually makes one coilover kit better than another? Is it just the material used?
  24. They're also twice the price though...
  25. I'm currently running supersport 55m springs with standard shocks and ride is well...terrible. Dont get me wrong it goes round corners very well but the smallest of bumps in the road throw the furby off course and I'm constantly bouncing all over the place. The mechanic who done my MOT asked me how my teeth hadnt fallen out yet. I've decided to get a set of coilovers but not sure which option to go for, I've heard good things about JOM coilovers but dont want to fit them and find out they're just as bouncy. The only other option I would consider is KW V1's which are over double the price - are they really twice as good? I could really do with saving the £200 and put it towards fitting but I don't want to get the JOM coilovers and find out I need to replace them in 6 months. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
