  1. back box on my 06 VRS petrol has given up the ghost, looking online there doesn't seem to be a great deal of pattern parts available to replace it with from your average motor factors and stainless replacements seem to start around £500 and then the insurance will try and bend me over for fitting "performance enhancing parts". anyone else has to replace the back box or system and what did you do?
  2. thanks for that trundlenut, i'll give everything a good soak in some WD40 type stuff before i get started and it helps!
  3. i have a sticky o/s/r hand brake cable but looking to change both which i'm at it, are the cables both the same or different? some places i look at list different ones but then others list them as the same cable both 1450mm long. anyone help?
  4. yes i have checked. lol. to be honest i couldn't remember if there was a dash illumination for the fronts or not but yes i got out the car and had a look, no fog lights.
  5. checked fuses and all are fine, went through every fuse in the car while i had my meter out.
  6. Hi All, i'm after a bit of help. had a N/S headlamp bulb blow, warning light came on the dash etc. it was the middle of the night, cold dark and wet so thought i'll put the front fogs on to help see a bit better but they weren't working! pull the switch out 1 click and nothing, no light on the dash or anything, rear is fine the dash light comes on as it should. i replaced the headlamp bulb and that now works fine with the warning light now off on the dash but still i have no front fogs. any ideas?
  7. as per the rather long title of this thread, twice now the alarm has gone off for no apparent reason and annoyingly both times been quite early in the morning! would the little hatch between the boot and through the armrest in the back seat being open have anything to do with it as that's the only thing i've noticed that is different on both occasions when the alarm has gone off? is there anything else i can check to try and trace the problem if not?
  8. thanks for your reply, i've looked in the glovebox but all i can see is what appears to be some sort of temperature control?
  9. as per the long title, i have a poverty spec early mk2 octy vrs (no jumbo box, elec rear windows, 18's etc) fitted with a stream mp3 unit, all the wires seem to be there coming from the back of the unit for there to be a aux input but as there's no jumbo box where would that wire go? does it tail off under the centre console or is it just wrapped up somewhere behind the dash?
  10. so can i just call my local skoda stealers and ask them if mine is required in for these recalls or is there a skoda head office i need to contact?
  11. how do i go about getting this done? not long had my vrs and certainly hasn't been near a dealers in that time so skoda wouldn't know how to contact me?
  12. yep she came flying across a junction in effect got T-boned, i think it's more just the ground is wet there, i doubt 6 weeks on it'd still be leaking fluid to that extent.
  13. randomly it's not on the site now :S when i looked this morning it was listed with no bids on it so not sure why it's gone now.
  14. it was mint mate and i'm not just saying that as it was mine, had a lot of money spent on it in it's life. i was pretty happy with the price i got for it, they tried it on at first offered me 2.5k for it but it didn't take a lot of arguing for them to get up to £3250. just be nice if the bint who caused the accident would own up to her stupidity so i can get my excess back!
