I think its an easy job to replace as mine done the same a week ago but I am unable to get under the car and do jobs now. so the garage done it in 1/2 hour and charged £28:00 total so it must be easy to get at. wyreman

Can any one tell me how to dissemble or get at the window switches on the driver side door, as when I press the driver side window switch right down to the bottom nothing happens at all, but if I only press it halfway down the window moves until I release the switch. I wondered if it was a loose or poor connection on the switch itself. I have tried to take the switch mounting panel off but it seems very stiff and I did not want to break any plastic bits off. I have tried all the remidies from my previous posts about the switch about closing all windows operating door switch etc but every thing stays the same. The switch for the passenger window works perfectly so it seems like a faulty contact on the switch or a wire off, but I cannot get at it. john. I have found the answer to this, you need a small screwdriver with a six inch blade which you bend the end of about 40 degrees one inch from the end. Push this up through the hole underneath the handle the switch is in and push up until you can feel the catch which is against the door panel and push it out towards the window;; release the other catches by prising the top part of the unit up with a knife pushed in the join. The switch comes apart with using a very small Allen key 1.5 mm undoing about 8 screws. clean the inside plastic cover with the conductive rubber pads in and the circuit board with alcohol or switch cleaner ( BUT NOT WD40) and reassemble. Hope this works for any one else.

Sorry about the misunderstanding I said what it should do. but when I press it right down nothing happens at all so I have to use the midway setting. I have tried closing it right up with the key in the lock and putting it right down with key in the lock, but when I take the key out put it back in the ignition switch and try the switch it is exactly the same as before. Sorry about the long delay but i have managing with the fault. Yes if I press the button down to the bottom it will fully open, if I press it half way down it stops when I loose it, which is how I am using it at the moment. I have tried to take the switch out to look at it but I am worried in case I break some clips off as it seems a bit tight. john

When i press switch right down for driver side window nothing happens if I press it halfway down it works. any ideas. If its just the switch how do I get at it to replace same ? John also when its freezing cold when I run the car for about 1/2 a mile the clutch pedal sticks halfway down. if I put my foot under it and lift it back a couple of times its OK after that. is there a spring or some means of returning it thats freezing up ?
