  1. I bought and fitted the 2nd of your 2 ebay links from, I believe, the same vendor. I cut a square hole next to the boot handle for the camera, fixed with epoxy and black sealant. I reasoned that I could find a rubber plug if I needed to remove it, which would be invisible with the boot closed. After coding, it worked very well on my 63-plate superb combi with Columbus...except 8 months later, it has broken. At some point soon, I'll do some diags. Best case, it's a power lead problem (chafing?). Worst case, I need a new camera.
  2. Thanks Eddie-NL, it worked! I now have an rvc fitted and working! Perfect for reversing up to my trailer. I see the rvc with the ops overlaid on the left hand side. Even has the colour/type of car correct. Ended up cutting a hole in the boot lid to fit the camera - I could have fabricated a fitting that attached to the number plate, but it would have looked naff. Feeding the wiring through was fine on the whole. I only need to fully remove the boot panels. The rest could be persuaded open a bit and the wiring pushed up inside. I initially Found an empty fuse in the fuse box that only came on with the ignition so wired the power into that. Took a days' work, including faffing with horrible scotch locks - every tine I use them, I end up binning them and soldering. It just takes me 2 hours to get to the decision. Not bad for £70!
  3. Upgraded firmware to 5269, but no impact. Interesting link Briskodian, I've got the box tiicked under 37 (Navigation), but there is no Rear View Camera option under 10 (Park/Steer Assist) to select. I will double check the settings in the morning though.
  4. Ok, one step closer... In Park/Steer Assist, I turned off Byte 0 Bit 4(Optical Illustration Active) and turned it back on again. This also resets the Adaption to Ops Display. It now defaults to the normal OPS, but I do get a button in the bottom right to switch to camera view...which works...kind of. The screen has a divider on the left to allow for an OPS view of the car, but there's no view. I tried changing the Adapation to Review Camera, but I'm back to nothing being displayed and I have to reset Bit 4 in the coding. .....I was just about to hit 'Post' and then I noticed that the latest firmware (5269. I'm on 5238) here has a bullet stating support for Ops and RVC at the same time. I guess that's my next step!
  5. Thanks for responding adamal In Park.Steer Assist, the only options I get are in Adaptions (nothing to note in Coding which is 108102). Under Visual Display for Park Assist, I get: OFF Ops Display (which is the default) Review Camera Automatic OPS_360_Degrees
  6. It depends on the towbar. Most I've looked at are 80KG for the Superb. Westfalia detachable is 100KG.
  7. Hi, I purchased this for my 63 plate Superb Estate 4x4 170 tdi Elegance, and I'm struggling. At the moment, I've plugged the connector into the back of the Columbus and +12v to power and reversing wires and -12v to the earth - It's all sitting loose on the passenger seat. I've configured the following in VCDS: Navigation: Byte 3, Bit 6 - Back-up camera Low installed. Park/Steer assist: Adaption: Visual Display for Park Assist: Rearview Camera These are the only options I can find relating to the review camera. The latter setting has an effect in that it stops the normal ops appearing. I get the usual reversing beep, but the display does not change. I've tried resetting the columbus, but no joy. Reading other forums, it sounds like I should at least get a blank screen even if the camera isn't working. I've attached the autoscan. Anyone got any ideas? Autoscan.txt
  8. I recently traded my 59 plate superb and the wheels were worse than the OP's pictures. the dealer said that they just powder coat them as it's not worth getting them done back to originals.
  9. I have a 2009 Superb and had the same problem a couple of years ago. Skoda dealer fixed in a day under warranty - They said they had replaced the heater box.
  10. They are quieter, although my 18" were almost at the legal limit The noise is a bit more gruff though. Feel is interesting. Steering is lighter at all speeds and it has taken a little while to get the feel for the grip levels.
  11. I got 205/55 R16 Continental Winter Contact TS 850 with 16" steel wheels from MrWinterwheels.co.uk for £590. Naff website name but good price! Coming from my 18" wheels, the 16" winter tyres are a completely different feeling, and noise.
  12. The warning lights are common when you change the battery. As the previous poster says, just turn the wheel lock to lock and they will go away.
  13. Ok, so if my Superb ever arrives (see my post on delivery times), how do I tell if the £30 worth of heated washer nozzles is actually fitted?
  14. What delivery times are people getting? I ordered mine through Masterlease at the end of April and have just been told that it may turn up at the dealears at the beginning of August. Apparently, the car has been built but there is a delay in shipping.
