  1. I got sick and tired of this issue years ago so simply cut the wire sending power to it. Now it shuts perfectly flush and to open it I push it in and it pops open, do the same to close. Simple
  2. Whilst it sounds like a wheel bearing, if it's not changing pitch as you load each side of the car when steerinf, then I reckon it's the undertray or something loose underneath reverberating at motorway speeds. Certainly sounds awful
  3. Hi - I used Jewsons in Oxford. Straight away when I took it there and explained I could here a relay click when I pressed the button, the service manager mentioned large resistors. They had it for an hour, when I went back it was fixed
  4. Why's it in the wrong door? By the time I've gone round to that side of the car to get it out I'm soaked............should be on the same side as the driver!
  5. Map upgrade disc doesn't allow for 7 digit postcodes in all cases. I've a Dec 08 car and it didn't work, needs a firmware upgrade I think
  6. Hello All - hope you're well My love affair with iOS devices is coming to an end after over five years (takes cover).......... I've retired the iPhone5 and am putting a Nexus4 through it's paces as my sole mobile device Anyone running Android Jellybean 4.2.2 is likely to hit some weird problems getting the phone book to download via bluetooth to the car. I think I've got it working, but needs more testing. Anyway - this link may be of great use to anybody running into this issue http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?can=2&start=0&num=100&q=&colspec=ID%20Type%20Status%20Owner%20Summary%20Stars&groupby=&sort=&id=40198
  7. I've never owned a diesel that hasn't done this. They all just chug forward at tick over Useful in stop start motorway jams
  8. Behind all the plastics covering the twin door mechanism. I didn't take it off, left it to the dealer. They can test the element easily, but they don't fail these days If you get the relay type click on pressing the button then it'll be a resistor I believe
  9. The point of 18 inch wheels on the Superb2 is to prevent it taking on the side profile of a skateboard :-) Seriously - no issues with the ride, noise or comfort. It's all very refined, 18 inch rubber is commonplace and you can haggle with tyre dealers anyway if price is an issue
  10. I've had both, and at first I thought the CR170 was gutless - especially as I'd remapped the PD......... essentially the characteristics of power delivery are polar opposites. PD delivers gobs of torque up until 3K and to get the best requires a short shift style of driving. CR170 delivers it's wares in a far more linear fashion, and as someone else says, much like a petrol offers go right through to the redline Tough choice, but I find the 170 better refined
  11. My CR170 doesn't rev over 3K in neutral Not sure how I noticed this but at first thought it was a protection feature like in an M3 / M5 whereby it allows progressively higher revs as the oil gets up to temperature It's not that - itnever revs over 3K in neutral, or in any gear with clutch in. As soon as the clutch is out in flies through to the redline Some sort of crude launch control?
  12. Yep - two fat resistors in there, dealer sorted it under warranty - sure they said it's a £60 fix (gulp)
  13. I only have sensors on the rear, and I'm pretty sure the Columbus used to show just the back of the car with the warning markers............ Now, engaging reverse brings up an image of the whole car with detection markers all over the shop. I believe the audio guidance is still working correctly Anyone had this anomaly?
  14. That just sounds like a wheel's thrown a balancing weight
  15. Over an indicated 90 and mine come on and stay on for 4/5 mins. More than 10 consecutive wipes of the screen and the same. Masked from that they're pretty good in their auto setting
