  1. Ive given up on this dealership as they have been very poor and cant belive there is little choice in west yorkshire. we now own a new ford and would have gladly bought a new skoda if another better dealership had been near. they USED to be a good place to go but I suspect got too big too quick. their loss...our money was taken elswhere!
  2. after a five year span covering two fabias I have given up with skoda and bought a new fiesta. the cars have been great but the dealership has been awful. its been a complete lack of care and poor service from the off. I find it amazing that one dealership can hold such a monopoly on a brand..theres little choice if you want a skoda and live in west yorkshire. The last occasion at ossett was an amazing waste of my saturday morning and they couldnt even organise an mot test, let alone the warranty parts that were orderd. on "having a word" with the dealer principal on how embarrissing the whole episoded had been I just got a shrug and no real response or even a basic apology. the dealership were aware I was due to change the car at the end of its warranty and yet even so The mistakes were left and i got my own mot test elswhere the same day and a month later orderd a new ford on the basis of the dealers attitude and service. I'd shop around before trusting my car to this firm. theres better specialist servicing to be found elswhere... if you want a real world oppinion on this lot ask any leeds taxi driver.
  3. Hook, line and sinker. gotcha! bet you cant even remember why....
  4. "when" you learn to drive..you will find you use the brakes less BECAUSE you have anticipated what the bleary eyed old t**sser in the rover is going to do. as for the track..if your on the brakes your slowing down. try a track day tution. I think they can show you which way round your cap goes too. sorry if this offends , but your why car insurance is soo expensive.
  5. Ive not actualy taken it in for service yet. Theres no way I'm paying that amount for a small service. its looking like vat registerd non franchise at less than half the quoted amount. (to keep the warranty) MY original question about the computer updates being critical is still a concern..I guess only skoda agents can do this? is it really that important?
  6. yes the 1960's felicia is still stuck outside in the open and the tarps blown off...what a waste! you would think theyd just sell it to someone who was going to save it! I agree with the general comments here on the service dept..also the car parking is far too narrow..we had our fabia damaged while in their care..they did repair it very well but it shouldnt have happend. could try harder.
  7. I was concerned that the 1.2 fabia might be a bit slow..I needent have worried ! we got the 70hp bigblock version and its amazingly quick for what it is. and being a three cylinder i was very worried it might sound like those dreadfull corsa's. I'd reccomend one having a go in the 70hp version..its good.
  8. I got the same problem..wifes 08 fabia 1.2 done 19k miles..just gone two years old. supplying dealer wants nearly £200 for two year service: turns out its basically an oil change and a new pollen filter...am I missing something here? they dont even bother changing the brake fluid (although it states in the service book its due at 2 years) but leave it as a "customer option". the words "rip off" and sharp practise" come to mind. Im not bloody stuipid..an oil change using the best oil is going to cost me about £45...a pollen filter is £6.77 from eurocar parts so what exactly am I paying for here? the dealer ratled on about the "lengthy inspection" and the importance of the computer hook up..oh come on...they dont even take of the wheels for a propper inspection! Im really unsure what to do about this..its my intention to keep the car a number of years but would have liked to retain it full main dealer service history. money is in short supply just now (who isnt?) so I need some input on this one!
