Hi everyone My Octy has developed a fault with the alarm. It went off at 4.20 this morning I unlocked the car then, after checking everything, locked it again. It went off again about 15 minutes later Booked it in to be looked at (next Wednesday). I asked if the siren could be disconnected for the time being, but was told no cos there are lots of things that might be affected. My neighbours will not be happy if the alarm goes off again during the night (nor my OH) so I wondered if I can disable it until it goes in to be fixed. Thanks for reading & for any tips.

Thanks for these Andy. The Sheffield address is similar to one I tried writing to. It was returned marked "addressee gone away". But it wasn't this exact address, so it has got to be worth trying. I will also post to c/o VW at Milton Keynes & see what happens. Thanks again.

Thanks for your reply. As much as anything, I am trying to find out whether the warranty is valid, & also what service history is on the car. I know I could order a replacement owner's book through my local dealer, but that will not confirm the details I need. Can the dealer trace the car from the VIN ?

Hi Can anybody provide me with a postal address for Skoda UK customer services please. I have tried emailing & phoning them, but I think a letter might have more effect. I am trying to get them to find the service documents & anything else for my car. The paperwork was, apparently, returned to VW in Milton Keynes when the car was taken off fleet by the previous keeper. In their email & phone replies, all I got was "we cannot trace the items. Try contacting the dealer local to the previous owner". I did that, but they have no records of the vehicle on their books. Thanks for helping.

Hi Can somebody please tell me how to adjust the aim of the rear washer. I cannot seem to get it right; it just sprays onto the inside of the wiper housing I have tried moving it with a pin but can't seem to get it right. Thanks.

Thanks to all for the welcome & for the info on the computer. I have now done a full to full check & it works out at 46.3mpg. I am still impressed, but will keep monitoring it for a while. Thanks again.

Hi everyone. I have just bought my first Skoda. It is an Octavia 1.9 TDi Ambiente. I did a run to Wembley & back yesterday & the computer tells me that I averaged 64 mph & fuel consumption was 47.1mpg. If this is true then I am very pleased. Any feedback on how accurate the computer tends to be would be welcomed (the average speed is probably about right, cos I flew back!) Many thanks. Mike
