  1. I said to my colleague after the journey... "He was bull****ting to the wrong guy"
  2. Hi folks, We are looking at getting a vrs octavia and I wondered if anyone could recommend any baby seats for the impending arrival? What are you parents using?
  3. I was at a big company in Carlisle today for a meeting and the taxi we had a ride in was a white Octavia vrs diesel. Seemed very clean and tidy with a private plate on. Certainly the fastest taxi I've ever been in. He claimed it had 350bhp?
  4. I did carwow a few months back when I was first interested and got £26,958 for a 230 dsg in meteor grey, now I can't seem to chose a 230 on the car wow site
  5. That sounds good, was it with DSG? Who was that through?
  6. The only option it had was a tow bar...
  7. Hi folks, Called into a dealer today with the pram to see how the octavia estate dealt with it... no problems there. When I asked about how much a dsg 230 would cost, I was given a cost of £30,459 on pcp with a final value of £11k... I really didn't think the dealer was actually doing much...? and £11k on the final value I thought was low.
  8. Ah, when I searched for New-car-deal I only got lease type stuff
  9. Is this a lease hire car then or on pcp?
  10. Interesting cost on a PCH deal for a dsg golf r estate 6+23 10k Miles p/a Initial Payment: £1,380.5 £230 a month https://www.contracthireandleasing.com/car-leasing-companies/main-dealers/lightlease/volkswagen/golf/91375710/
  11. I love the golf R but would need the estate... and although I haven't looked, I think the golf would be too expensive on finance. Mrs Kidd isn't a fan of the ford and I don't feel I am old enough for a jag... With regards the discount, are you suggesting I can get a new octavia for £19k?
  12. Actually just seen the 0% deal has finished... What is the difference in spec anyway?
  13. We had one of these in our mk1 fabia, it was the bee's *******s http://www.hatchbag.co.uk/skoda-octavia-estate-low-floor-2013-on
  14. Hi folks, My local skoda dealer has said that the 230 isn't available with 0% finance like the 220, so I wondered what I would need to add to the 220 to get the same spec (apart from the extra 10bhp and the diff)?
  15. Hi folks, reduced to £2600 to anyone on here.
  16. Bumperty bump. A guy nearly came from Dundee on the weekend but found one more local unfortunately. I'm not around this weekend so I can't show anyone the car until next week after tomorrow.
  17. Hi Folks As painful as it is to do this, our circumstances are looking like they might be changing and we are going to pass the fabia onto someone else. We bought the car from Simpsons Skoda in Colne with 32k miles on when it was 2 years old, since then we have taken the mileage up to 120k miles, we've even driven all the way to Monaco to watch the f1 from up hear in Lancashire. The car has never let us down and has been serviced regularly with the stamps to prove it. The EGR valve has been sorted and a smaller gasket fitted, the DMF was replaced a couple of years ago, I have LOTS of paperwork, one latest stuff being 2 of the alloys that have refurbished. It has recently had the console bushes changed again for the uprated versions and has had a new rear shock absorber. It starts perfectly each time and still pulls like a train. There have never been any turbo issues. All 4 tyres are in good condition with the front ones being less than 6 months old. It has full leather with no rips and cruise control, I've just fitted a new drivers side wing mirror as some idiot smashed the original one. There is a minor scuff on the rear bumper which you can't really notice. The car is situated near Lancaster, post code LA2 and is in use everyday so the mileage might increase. We went to go look at some newer skodas last week and the dealer said it was very clean and complemented me on the condition of the car. It has 10 months MOT. I'm looking for £2800 ono Any questions please drop me a text message or PM me on here. Thanks Tom (07740197207)
  18. Hi folks, it is looking like we'll be selling our mk1 fabia vrs and we've been looking at the octavia vrs as a replacement. We went to a local dealer who had a diesel hatch and a 230 hatch both with manual gearboxes. As it was the first time I have driven one I was looking forward to how it would feel. As soon as I started driving the diesel I was surprised at how little the vibration from the diesel engine has been refined since the old days of the mk1 fabia. I think I was expecting more... it went well but felt a little sluggish and lazy... maybe sensible is a more suitable word? I loved the feel of the steering and the brakes and overall thought it was just ok. I think I was expecting more? Then we went out in the 230... having never driven a petrol tsi before I was interested in how it would perform. Straight away I felt like it had more going for it, the engine sounded great and it just picked up so well. After we got back I was pretty much convinced that the petrol 220 or 230 would be the way to go for me as it just felt more like a sporty saloon than the diesel. It almost made me feel like it I could drive it in a similar style to the fabia. The mpg and sensible feeling I got made me think it was just a bit too much of a sensible option for me. Where as the 230 brought out the hooligan in me at times but could still be driven sensibly. We don't do many miles a year these days, maybe 10k or so. Any thoughts? Has anyone else gone from an old fabia vrs to an octavia? What engine did you go for?
  19. Hi, sent you a message about the mirror unit. Ta
  20. Do you have a drivers side mirror for this?
  21. Hi folks, On the vrs which is cylinder number 1 if I am looking at the engine from the front of the car? Thanks
