  1. all. had a problem with the engine light coming on after changing the plugs . Skoffski pointed me in the right direction regarding a pipe being pulled off but it was not the ones circled on the above link (Skoffski Post) but a pipe above that, that disappears under the intake pipe . BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TOO PULL ANY PIPES OFF BY MISTAKE LIKE ME AND WASTE TIME AND MONEY GETTING THE ENGINE LIGHT TAKEN OFF.
  2. all. i will be picking up my sportline plus 1.5tsi manual (company car) march 18th .i did make concerns clear about this problem to the Skoda dealership and they told me their will be no problems with the car and i would be happy with it. lets wait and see . mike.
  3. Yes all checked and fine. far right hand plug top corroded also the coil pack . when i fitted the new plugs i did not notice the corrosion in the coil pack i think this has loged as a misfire . every thing else seems fine.
  4. Hi Skoffski. brought denso plugs as recommended on here . taken everything off again and re checked .only thing i could find is the first coil pack on the right was badly corroded . just fitted a new one . plugs i checked each one as i fitted them 0.7 with gauges . light still on i have disconnected the battery to see if it fixes it but if not i may need to go and get it reset at the garage. thanks mike.
  5. just changed the plugs on a Fabia vrs mk2 and now the engine light is on. gone through all the plugs again to check and noticed one of the coil packs is corroded on the inside if i change the pack will the engine light go off or does it need to go into a garage . could i disconnect the battery would that work. thanks mike.
  6. Let’s keep our fingers crossed we have both got a good one .
  7. had a little bit of good news today . talked to skoda and the car has had the 34f7 oil replacement so one less to worry about just need to keep my fingers crossed with the engine. mike.
  8. thank you so much for taking the time to come back to me . so if i email the link you sent me and give them the reg they should tell me what has or not been done over the years . thanks for putting my mind at rest for a while lol. mike.
  9. so Skoffski. i understand about the service and warranty and will get the brakes done asap. so my question to you is ,am i taking a big gamble buying one of these cars now, knowing the cave engine could come with oil consupmtion problems or go for it and hope for the best. thanks for you input . mike.
  10. Hi Skoffski. i will be picking the car up on Saturday so i will have a good look through the service book and contact the Skoda garage who serviced it to check the DSG campaign. i don't now where the trader got the car from sorry. the MOT only shows advisories for pitted from discs and a tyre close to the limit. the reg is OY11JVK would be great if anyone knows this car. thanks mike.
  11. thanks all for getting back to me. I did look at the service history and it was main agent but the DSG oil change had not been ticked ,so I guess I need to talk to Skoda regarding the 34F7 . it does not have heated seats. I have brought the car from a trader but all I know is it is a one owner car so it seems fingers crossed that I have a good one I presume that I will only know if its a good one if I don't have to keep filling up with oil. so if it does use a lot of oil would I need the "FIX"( and at what cost) or would the engine be scrap. so should I be changing the plugs straight away, plus any other pointers would be a help. many thanks mike .
  12. Hi all. just put a deposit on a Fabia mk2 vrs 2011. car has done 45000 miles one owner service history after looking on here at the posts I feel very worried that I have just spent £5000 on a car that is going to give up on either the engine or the gearbox. could someone put my mind at rest please . I might just swallow the £100 pound deposit and walk away. thanks mike.
  13. Thanks for the comments so far . think I will go and talk to the dealer and see what they say
  14. Hi all ordered a sportline plus 1.5 tsi as my next company car but I am getting worried about this problem with them pulling away lot of people complaining on the net should I contact the dealer and ask them or maybe change to a DSG comments would be greatfull
  15. thanks all for the comments. i have today ordered a sportline plus .i have been told it will be the 1.5 tsi and pick the car up in the new year can't wait as i just love the look and the interior and hopefully the engine. have read on here that their is a facelift in the new year i was wondering if the one i ordered would be the facelift model as it will have the 1.5 tsi engine. thanks all mike
