Hi Guys I'm seriously considering purchasing a diesel car sometime in the future but, having never owned or driven a car running on Satans fuel I have a few questions. Are they as fast as a petrol engined car? lets say I had a 200hp petrol car and a 200hp diesel which is quickest? Also in terms of power, how do they drive. I hear diesels have a narrow power band but how does that affect acceleration and overtaking stuff? I love the idea of a powerful diesel with cheap tax and MPG. Was thinking something like a BMW 320d or if I had the money a 335d Thanks for any input

Hi Guys Does anyone have a video or guide on how to remove the turbo from a BWA engine? I fear my turbo oil seals have gone as I get a little puff of blue smoke out the back when I set off. (Never seems to do it on boost mind) I've found a company that will repair it for £200 but you have to send the turbo to them. Would love to buy a Hybrid but I've just bought a house so don't have the funds Cheers

I get this sometimes too. I've noticed that if the oil level is low it makes the clattering noise. Check the level and make sure its correct. They like to drink quite abit of oil but since i've switched to 5W40 Its used hardly any

Octavia mk2 VRs tfsi intercooler
banzaiman replied to Smit's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
HI mate It has a front mount which is sandwiched in between the AC condenser and radiator. Forge do a Twintercooler which keeps the original intercooler and adds a whopping great big second one to the front. -
It doesn't sound like this does it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EX3QTqBRriE I have exactly the same issue. its to do with the diverter valve and the intake. only cure is to go back to stock or move the diverter using a relocation kit to the front of the engine. I've just put up with it for now but its soooo annoying. its like an accordion also more info here http://www.golfmk6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47372

I've always loved those Millotec grills but not the silver border. I've done a little edit (all be it in MS paint)

Could be the ABS ring in the wheel hub. I had this issue on mine. You will need a replacement hub as the ring is built into it -

I've got a Jetex 3" turbo back and its a been great. You can either fit it to your standard downpipe or chop the reducer off and mate it to a 3" downpipe like I did and just use a 3" pipe connector -

I think it will but your going to need a connecting pipe because the Downpipe is 3" and the Catback is only 2.75" -
Cambelt change now or next year?
banzaiman replied to Dazzle daz's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Out of interest, What is the mileage limit on getting the belt changed? I had a look in the manual and I can only see the time limit. -
Do you mean this cover? This is mine and i've bought a new one to go on but the ring at the top which is where i presume it fits is all corroded and white.

bit of an odd one tonigjt
banzaiman replied to banzaiman's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I do have a little leak from the drivers side intercooler pipe. Think it needs a new green gasket thingy. Its a really odd one. Would i get a plume of smoke from the clutch? It was replaced about 2 years ago. I've been trying to replicate it and so far it hasn't happened again
