PS. Running ‘super unleaded’ from BP since I took ownership. Standard E10 may not be so effective. (?) also tyres at ‘eco’ pressure so 2.4 bar.

No particular secret. Just get up to a cruising speed around 60 and keep as constant as possible. Read the road ahead to anticipate and minimise quick changes in speed. I’ll be checking this against brim to brim top ups obviously. Expect it to be a few mpg lower in reality.

Quick question. Fabia Montecarlo 2018. The black roof... Before I start trying to correct the paint and fill a few stone chips. Is it definitely painted rather than vinyl wrapped? To match the colour can I also assume (if painted) that the colour will be 'Black Magic Metallic'. Vehicle details only refer to paint code for rest of bodywork. Many thanks/

Just as an update… today did 360 mile round trip. A5 through wales them M54, M6, M1 to Watford and back. Rush hour both ways. more than happy with the below economy figures. Not driving like a granny just sensible and as quick as safely possible. so no worries on that front!

Sorry, yes your right. There was PDI recorded in 2018. Then independents until dealer did inspection service prior to my collection. I’ll be back at dealers this week for 2 minor snags. Software update to head unit, tried it myself and no luck (see other threads…) and wingmirror adjustment knob. When left mirror selected it never responds on first touch , always takes a second attempt. Minor details so if these are my only probs then I’m chuffed. first long drive on Tuesday, Wrexham to Watford which should flush out anything else…

No service history from Skoda but have receipts from a local Indy place. you would hope that the ‘Skoda approved’ extensive vehicle checks would have picked up anything nasty with suspension or steering (?!). But judging by the amount of mud I had to jet wash from underneath I doubt they’d be able to have seen much. seems to drive and handle well so I’m hopefully worrying about nothing. cheers.

So having taken ownership of a 68 plate mk3 fabia montecarlo 2 weeks ago I decided belatedly to look into its history… (I know!) it failed 2 MOTs due to tyres worn down to the metal bands! Tyres aside any thoughts what I should be looking out for? Obviously previous owner wasn’t what my dad would call “mechanically sympathetic”! Or as I would say, a total t*t! car otherwise lovely just worries there may be lurking issues which I’d rather raise with dealer asap. interesting that despite most of car being very clean the unberbody was caked in 2 inches of thick mud! Rallied? thoughts welcome!

Hi folks. I'd like to replace silver with black badges on my moon white Fabia Montecarlo. Kopacek (SuperSkoda) stock the black SKODA and FABIA lettering as well as this for the front of the car... https://www.kopacek.com/exterior/emblems/fabia-iii-original-skoda-emblem-i-n-t-version-front-colour-s9r-moon-white However they do not stock the equivalent for the rear! Confirmed today in an email from them. Does anyone know another equivalent source for rear black on white Skoda badges? Many thanks.

First of many questions having just taken delivery of 2018 fabia montecarlo 110PS… like many I have poor audio performance via apple carplay. Seems I need to update software ( despite dealer blaming my phone). Is the latest version downloadable somewhere or do I need someone to send direct to me? cheers.

I’m an old lapsed member having spent the last few years in the wilderness of Vauxhall and Hyundai. took delivery of a used fabia today so back in the club. I’m sure I’ll be asking lots of dumb questions in the coming days as a lot seems to have changed! look forward to participating again.

I haven’t as yet to be honest, been busy/ lazy but your right I really should do. Although I have a feeling there’s zero feedback loop between dealers and factory.

Just spotted this thread and so glad I’m not the only one. 1.5 SEL 4000 on the clock. Randomly revving to 2000+ when manoeuvring at low speeds or pulling away. Makes me look / sound like a learner again!

In similar traffic on my recently departed 1.6 TDi I was getting long term average over 60 mpg. And was better the more I ragged it! Horses for courses though. New 1.5tsi nowhere near as economical but way smoother to drive.

Also have same car delivered a few weeks back. No fire extinguisher under my seat either. I'm guessing it's either an option or not part of UK spec?

Happy to report on 450 mike round trip to Liverpool the mpg touched 60. Really enjoying this engine!
