  1. Hi vRS G60, Just thought I'd mention that I've just listed my Yeti for sale. Look in the cars for sale forum or try this link - http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/308293-skoda-yeti-14-tsi-se-petrol-black-sat-nav-only-4900-miles-61-reg/ It's a 61 reg 1.4 TSI SE with less than 4900 miles on the clock. Best of luck with your Yeti hunting! Nickel
  2. Skoda Yeti 1.4 TSI SE Bought from Central Skoda in Birmingham as a demonstrator, but with only 25 miles on the clock and currently has less than 4900 miles on the clock. The 1.4 TSI performs better than the 1.2, but is still very economical to run. Full Skoda service history (last service 2/10/13). Covered by Skoda warranty and breakdown cover until 30/09/14. Tax is due in September 2014. No MOT is required until September 2014. The car has not been involved in any accidents and is in excellent condition throughout as would be expected for the age and mileage. Fitted with Skoda Amundsen touch screen Sat Nav which also plays music from SD cards and has multi-function steering wheel controls. Rear Parking Sensors and Full size spare wheel. 3. I'm after a MK11 Petrol Manual vRS. It's certainly worth asking a dealer to see what they can offer. I had a MK1 Petrol, but wrote it off. I was looking for another vRS, but saw the Yeti and thought I'd give it a try. Couldn't find a decent deal on a vRS at the time and needed a car in a hurry. Thanks to everyone for the advice.
  4. I agree - it's a great all-rounder. What I miss is the power and handling.
  5. I miss the performance of my old Octavia so am thinking of selling the Yeti to fund another Octavia VRS. I've just had a valuation from CAP and they reckon £14000 to £14500 for a private sale. Does this sound realistic? Spec is - Yeti 1.4TSI SE in Black Magic. 61 Reg (Sep 2011). 4000 miles only. Amundsen Sat Nav. Spare Wheel. I bought it as a demonstrator with 25 miles on it. I'm guessing I wouldn't get a very good deal if I traded it in. It's been a great car and it'll be sad to see it go but I may well get another in the future. Nickel

    SD card

You need to make sure you format as FAT32 and not standard FAT in order to avoid the limitations of FAT.
  7. I've just fitted led's to my interior rear passenger lights and found that it is very easy to do if you follow the correct procedure. You must switch the light to permanently on (on the transparent plastic rocker switch) before you depress the metal clip to release the fitting. If you don't do this then the switch obstructs the metal clip so that it can't be fully depressed. Hope this helps someone.
  8. Sorry to revive such an old thread, but I was hoping you might share your information on fitting the interior lights above the dash. I don't want to risk doing any damage. Thanks
  9. Sorry for the delay in responding - I'm in the middle of a house move. I have a PC so can't help with your iMac. The method works really well for me and I can find my music by Artist or Album. The music is stored in folders with Artists at the top level and Albums below so you need to know who the the album is by when searching. I mostly use random play. I would have thought it should be easy to achieve a similar result on a Mac. Perhaps someone else with a Mac can help out. Good luck.
  10. Hi & Welcome I recently bought a 1.4 TSE SE with the Amundsen Sat Nav and I'm very pleased with it. Not familiar with the Columbus, so I can't compare them. It does have TMC, but I don't have Bluetooth on mine or DAB. I posted an article recently about how I copied my music to SD card for playing on the Amundsen which may be of interest - http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/225798-technique-for-transferring-mp3s-from-itunes-to-sd-card/ Good luck with your search.
  11. Made a trip to the shops today - 4 miles each way - and achieved 36 MPG. I'm taking it easy as I'm still running it in. Don't have Bluetooth on the Amundsen or on the the iPod (60GB Classic) so that wasn't an option. Thanks for the suggestion though.
  12. Average so far is around 37 MPG, but like I say it's still early days. I'll add an update when I've got more info.
  13. It's still early days as I've got less than 250 miles on the clock. The engine seems very willing to rev and I'm sure it will be more than adequate. I'm going to run it in for at least 1000 miles. I'm used to my Octavia VRS and TT, so it will take a bit of getting used. I like the elevated driving position. Getting in and out the TT could be awkward especially if someone parks too close - the doors are quite long. I'm in the process of moving down to Devon where the Yeti should be much more suitable. 14. I recently bought a Yeti 1.4 TSI SE which came with the Amundsen Sat Nav. I really like to listen to music in the car so was keen to see what options were available with the Yeti. Previously I've fitted after market units so that I could connect my iPod. I fitted a Kenwood DNX5220 Sat Nav to my TT and could control the iPod from the steering wheel and the head unit would display the track details, playlists and album art. I've been reading all threads I could find here relating to transferring music onto SD cards and finally came up with a solution which works well for me. It may be of interest to others in a similar situation. I use iTunes to organise my music and keep it all in MP3 format arranged in folders by Artist / Album / Track. I had a spare 2GB SD Card and decided to experiment by copying music to it from iTunes. I used iTunes Smart Playlists to select the music to copy to the SD Card. Using Smart Playlists you can dynamically select music to match certain criteria such as Rating, Genre, Size etc. I created a Smart Playlist which selected music with a rating of 5 stars and a size limit of 1900MB. I then cut and pasted the files from iTunes to the SD card. I tried playing this and the card worked fine in the Amundsen unit. The only disadvantage was that cutting and pasting from iTunes to the SD card looses the folder structure which means that you cannot select particular artist or albums. To resolve this I found a program called iTunesExport http://www.ericdaugherty.com/dev/itunesexport/ which allows you to select playlists from iTunes and copy them including the files and folder structure directly to the SD card. This program simplifies the procedure, so I bought a 32GB SD card and created a new playlist with a size limit of 31000MB (the free space available on a 32GB SD card). This works really well on the Amundsen and there is no significant delay when selecting the SD card. I can play all the music in sequence or random or I can play certain artists or albums by selecting the relevant folder. I can also control it from the steering wheel and see the track details on the Amundsen display. This technique should also work on the Bolero unit. Overall I'm happy with the solution and it's certainly cheaper and quicker than retrofitting an MDI. Nickel
