  7. would that be using one of those bypass boxes of fleabay? or a bit of araldite on the outside of the ignition barrel. as long as i get it certified by an approved leccy and the immobiliser works then it's still covered, i think it brings the price down a bit its a 2ltr 8valve 2002 ambiente. hows it done? cheers ian
  8. hi, been offered a clifford remote start allarm and immobiliser but to fit i need to disactivatd the factory one, can it be done? how? will it cause any other problems in the future? cheers ian
  9. hi, been trying for a while to figure out why my rear screen sometimes clears, buzzes or does nothing at all. iVe just discovered that the (double/ right) connection has detatched from the window itself. so my question is ..... Can it be re-attatched, without having to remove the window? cheers ian
  10. hi, i've had the octy since july and got to say i'm impressed that i've had no major issues with it, just me being a biff and shorting the window/interior light fuse when in fitted the remote locking. only thing is that my rear window heater doesn't work, i live in scotland so this is kinda essential, it doesn't demist or as i found out on monday warm th window to melt frost. the light on the switch works and the heated mirros work a treat (also descovered monday). is this a comman problem and is there an easy fix. before its suggested i've checked all the fuse and cleaned and reseated the connections. thanks in advance for any help ian
  11. sorted now, had the puddle light wires cought between the door card and bracket causung a short. gonna go have a little word with myself in the naughty corner
  12. yesterday i fitted my remote locking kit, everythig worked fine (except i forgot to connect the interior door handle up:O) so i went out this morning sorted that littl eproblem, now my windows don't work from any of the switches, they still open and close with the key in the lock. any sugestions? would a duff drivers switch cluster stop all of the switches working like in my old bmw? cheers ian
  13. hi guys, i've just ordered a remote locking kit for the car and i need to know if i can take the transponder out of my curret key and put it into the new one when it arrives? i only ask as i'm going from a normal style key to a flipout one. the one i have at the moment has a blck dot at the top where the blade comes out of the plastic, is this part of the transponder chip? cheers ian
