  1. Thanks for this, didn't think of that. I have noticed in the colder weather it has been harder to start than normal in fact it has felt like a flat battery a few times, but now it's warmed up all is ok again! Maybe a battery change is in order then!
  2. Thanks I will give this a try fingers crossed
  3. I thought so, just what I was trying to avoid as my local dealer just screwed up my locking wheel bolts and blamed the tyre company that fitted the tyres -- Claiming the bolts where done up to tight! Ah well time to find a new dealer to use and part with more cash :(
  4. Since the cold weather, my radio that always used to come on when I switched the ignition on now stays off until I switch it on. Search as I might I can't find a setting that control's this, I'm sure there must be a magic button press that someone out there will know Thanks
  5. I've got a 55plate Octavia with factory fit xenon's, for some reason the lights are aiming to high, they still when turned up appear to level themselves out, just too high. Is it possible to adjust this, or is it a visit to the dealer?
  6. Hello, My Octavia II has front and rear parking aids, I've read its possible to get the distance display on the car radio, mine has the MFD2/Nexus unit, is this possible? Is it an option in VAG-COM that needs to be enabled or am I talking jibberish lol Thanks
  7. Thats great news, thanks very much for the reply, sounds like VAG-COM / VCDS would be a good investment in the longer term! I quite like Auto Headlights, had it on a few previous cars and now miss it :( Do you know if the extra hardware, switch and things can be retrofitted, and if there any links anywhere.. I cant see anything. Best wishes Nick B
  8. Hello there, I'm a new Octy II owner, on my 3rd day of ownership of a 2.0 Tdi PD DSG Elegance and loving it, had a Saab 93 before that was chipped upto 190bhp, but I'm having much more fun in this, and at least it stays put together, unlike the Saab buts that a whole new story! I've been scouring the forums for a few days, and seriously thinking about investing in VAG COM, but before I do, I'm wondering if its possible to change / enable a few things, specifically I'm wondering about:- - Coming Home Lights (is this an option in VAG COM, I think I read it is) - Auto Headlights (I have auto wipers, again is this an option to enable in VAG COM or is extra hardware reqd, is it poss to retro fit) - To set the doors to autolock when driving - Set the n/s foglight to work - Set the hazards to come on under heavy breaking I'm hoping all these are possible via VAG COM, and if anyone is local I'd be very happy to bung a few quid youre way to help me out and let me see the system, its a lot of money to shell out without knowing what youre getting Thanks Nick
  9. Hi All, Please forgive me if this has been answered elsewhere, but there are so many threads that I've got myself totally confused as to what my options are for getting my iPhone working with my head unit. This will be my first Skoda, an Octavia 2.0 Tdi PD Elegance DSG (2005 model), its got the factory fitted sat nav, I think its a Nexus/MFD2 from what I can tell. I'd like to get my iPhone 3g hooked up somehow so I have handsfree phone, and also can have my music through the vehicles system. What is the easiest way to do this without spending mega bucks? Again apologies if this is answered elsewhere, please be kind I'm new
