  1. If you are buying a cluster second hand how do you know which has maxi-dot? I'd also be interested in knowing how much the charge is to code and fit it etc Eddie.
  2. How much do the parts cost to do this? Also what's required to fit/code it? I was gutted when I found the car I wanted then realised it didn't have maxidot.
  3. Hi, Whats the condition of the grille, scratches/marks wise? I'm interested, just need to check the exact colour of my car, I think that's black magic too but need to double check the paint code. Pete
  4. OK that sounds good. Shame I don't have maxi dot though. :(
  5. I'm looking to get the chrome surround on my FL Octavia either painted or wrapped. I found some instructions on removing the grille and it seems it's just a few screws which is easy enough. What I'm wondering though is can I refit the center grille section without the surround until I get the surround sorted? I dont want to end up with the car off the road, I could just buy a new one but then that seems like a waste of cash. Pete
  6. Right so I was looking at getting a columbus HU to replace the Bolero one in my FL '11 Octavia VRS TDI but I've just discovered mine doesn't have MaxiDot :( ( I think the wifes VRS does though which is annoying but it was an ex forces car so they must be more clued up) My car has full leather, parking sensors, auto wipers, lights, dipping mirror, but they didn't add maxidot. :( Does this matter? Also having a quick scout around there's a lot more VW ones than Skoda ones about, can the splash screen be reconfigured or do I really need a Skoda one? I assume it's the V8 mapping ones I want as well. If I don't have maxidot will I still have to do some VCDS coding to get it all to work? Pete
  7. I'm actually just outside Reading. We were taking our 3YO to Butlins in Bognor and Sway were only a small detour. Dropped by Monday morning to see it, bought it there and then and then picked it up today I need a remap, who's good for a VRS TDI?
  8. Not posted on here for a very long time but have been a lurker for a long while. Thought I'd wave hello though as I've just driven home in my '11 Octavia VRS TDI This is my first non-Seat in about 15 years and up until last Saturday I owned a Leon Cupra R. Sadly I've been needing a bigger car for a while and so the Leon had to go. Not really struck by the Exeo I needed to look elsewhere. The wife has a racing blue Octy VRS and its so good I ended up with one too. ( Slightly embarrassing having one each but never mind. ) So today I stopped at Meadens in Sway and picked up my Black Magic VRS with loads of toys, Full Leather, auto lights, auto mirror, auto wipers, and reversing sensors. Drove back and got 48MPG without trying So hello, and wheres the list of cheap mods? Pete
  9. You don't want any LCR owners hanging around, well actually you can't see them anyway, because they're so fast light bends around them Then again, I bet the sooty club is alive and well on here, all "riding the torque" as it was put to me...
  10. The alarm should work fine with the factory defaults. Don't know what they did to make the alarm go off all the time
  11. I can hear furious key presses bashing out legal threat emails I think
  12. The ariel is fed power by the HU and there's a booster built in. If this fails you end up with crap reception. Pete
  13. If you get lost ask for the showcase... People will know where that is Pete
