  1. Hi all Just wanted some advice with my Fab, im thinking of performing a service on the car myself, just wounding what is the perfect oil for my little 3 cylinder and is and oil/filter service easy on this car? Also how easy is it to program one of those remote keys off ebay? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280455784446&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT < Thats the key im thinking of buying. Any help, hints and advice will be most welcome.
  2. Thanks for replying, so what do you think i should do? Buy a new one and get it fitted or get the software update keeping the existing valve?
  3. Hi all I recently had a diagnostics and throttle body cleaning done to my Fabia hatch, we found a faulty EGR valve and i was wondering if you guys know any information on the EGR valve or this issue? i heard it's a common problem on the HTP motors... :wonder: Thanks for reading, all comments and posts welcome. Kris

  5. Hi everyone, i recently posted a thread regarding my current engine management issues. Basically the engine RPM has been fluctuating and cutting out due to the cold weather, when the engine is warm it drives ok but there is deffinatly around a 25% drop in performance (Proberly an ECU procedure as the engine management light is on) the guys in the fabia forum were really helpfull, so i was woundering if anyone knows where i could get hold of a diagnostic kit for an hour? or a decent dealership with reasonable prices... :wonder: i live in south wales. Any help and advice will be extremely appreciated, thanks. Kris
  6. How would i go about doing that? garage? or is there a DIY way of doing it? Cheers, kris.
  7. Hi everyone, I hope some of you Briskoda experts can help… ... I started the car this evening and the engine RPM seemed to be fluctuating between 600 and the usual 900 RPM as if it couldn't settle at it's usual idle, now i must point out that we have had snow for two days and it's the coldest it's been for a long time so i was thinking maybe some fluids had frozen in the rad or something? As it just couldn’t run right. :wonder: Anyway i drove the car for about 1/2 mile and it then started getting worse by cutting out when going into idle, so i limped back home to find the car idling as it should now it had warmed up but to my horror the engine management light had come on for the first time ever. I have a mint 2003 1.2 HTP with just 30k on the clock and a full service history so she's still pretty fresh for a German car. I would appreciate any advice and guidance on what the fault could be (and I don’t mind getting my hands dirty with the spanners) I have worked on cars in the past, thanks for reading. Kris
  8. Fantastic responses here, thanks guys and coincidently I will only be towing a lightweight 125 motocross bike so I think this will be fine and the fact that I can fit it myself is even better, but how about a two bar that doesn’t leave a hole in my bumper? Any thoughts guys?
