  1. I would accept £2500 for a quick sale as the car is taking up much needed space on my drive. It does require a few hundred quid being spent to get it back up to to her former glory (tyres, rear brake discs, chipped windscreen) but this is not a lot of money in comparison to the asking price. All the carpet and interior do come with the car along with the mint standard front and rear seats.   4. Hi all. It may not have a WRC kit but it still looks good (in my opinion, lol), the pictures dont do it justice unfortunately. If anyone is interested in the car with the stickers and/or cage removed then let me know as I can remove them. It would be a shame but I can do it.   6. Hi all, The time has come to sell my 2006 Skoda Fabia vRS Rally replica. 1.9 TDi, 103,400 miles. MOT Feb 2015. Was last rolling roaded at 217.9bhp so as you can imagine this car as the power to match the looks. It will also return 60mpg. The car is cheap to run, tax and insure (depending on your age). I put this car together as I wanted something a little different. It is a real head turner and most people will have a good look, especially at traffic lights. The sound is like no other diesel I've heard and really sounds the part. It has a straight through custom built Powerflow exhaust. It does meet the smoke test for the MOT. Inside the interior has not been completely ripped out. I have done this on purpose as if I ever fancied a change I could just put the interior back in the car and remove the stickers/roll cage. The car does come complete with its full vRS interior. Things like the dash and door cards have been left in place. The roll cage is custom made and bolts in to the vehicle (please note this is not a proper roll cage but a show cage). Under the bonnet there is a stage 2 hybrid turbo, Forge front mounted intercooler, K&N Induction kit and an uprated clutch. The brakes are standard size with drilled and grooved discs and green stuff pads. The rear discs will need to be replaced but these are not expensive. The car does have a few minor issues. As mentioned the rear discs wil need replacing. It could also do with 2 or ideally 4 new tyres. Again these are not overly expensive, one site was offering 4 Toyo Proxes for around £280 which is good value for these tyres. The biggest issue is the drivers seat. It is as far back as it will go as is touching on the cage. If you're above 5"9 you may struggle although a mate of mine about 6"1 did manage to drive it but wasn't comfortable. In this case the roll cage could be removed and modified if you wanted to put it back in. It is not a difficult task to turn this car back to standard. Finally the air bag warning light and engine management light are on. Engine light is due to the EGR being removed, the car has never failed an MOT due to this.Air bag light is due to the steering wheel being changed. I have the original wheel and wiring which will be supplied with the vehicle. It's a simple case of swapping the wheel back and having the ECU reset for the MOT. If you're near by I have a scan tool that can reset if you needed a hand for the next MOT. These devices are not expensive. The body work is generally in good condition. There are a few scuffs in places but overall very good condition. The stickers have been on the car for several years but still look good but not perfect. I have serviced the vehicle regularly myself and as such there is no service history (there may be some from its first few years but I will need to check). I do however have most receipts for works/parts purchased for this vehicle, The car comes with 2 keys and I have the log book. £4000 The car is located in Llansamlet in Swansea.   8. Just wanted to let you know about this kit as people tend to avoid induction kits on the Fabia... I have recently fitted the above and it's great. I went for this as the filter is encased to avoid sucking in too much hot air. It's definitely made a slight difference to power and the car pulls stronger (especially upwards of 110mph, lol). No official figures though. It's also improved the sound and you get a bit more turbo noise whistling back through the cone. When you switch the engine off and wait a second you get a great chatter as the turbo spools down : ) So yes a good kit, pricey but if you've got spare cash then it's worth while. I have also gone for a mufflerectomy which I've been thinking about for a while but was a bit worried the noise might get a bit much. Wow, you'll never hear another diesel like it, it properly roars (Karl, hopefully I'll be showing you sometime soon). None of that owl type noise, just a mighty roar! It's also possible to keep it at a sensible volume making long journeys nice. So yes I am very happy. Thanks for reading
  9. Hi all, I was unfortunately wrong in thinking I'd got to the bottom of my slipping clutch issue on my 2006 MK1 Fabia vRS. Ok so this is a new clutch kit and single mass flywheel supplied and fitted by Awesome GTi in Manchester. It is an uprated item that I was told would handle the power my car is producing. The first trip there the clutch was fitted and I sat in the waiting room for 9hrs and left the same day. This slipped terribly in 5th and 6th gear so I had to drive the car steadily all the way home. This was tested before I took it away but they must not have got into 5th or 6th gear. I then returned to Manchester a few weeks later after being in contact with staff at Awesome. The clutch was removed and I was told it was not operating correctly and they would install a complete new unit. I was advised this was down to a faulty pressure plate (it was contaminated with oil). The 'new' clutch and flywheel was installed and tested. So I left last thing at the end of the day. Again I had the same problem although the pressure on the pedal felt a lot better but it was still slipping in 5th and 6th. Ok so I am now looking at my third trip there and was of course getting a little cheesed off. This time I didn't want any excuses and decided to leave the car with them for as long as I could. This meant a week off work, delivered the car on Monday morning and didn't pick it up till Saturday afternoon, a full 4 days to sort a clutch shouldn't be a problem I thought. After receiving numerous phone calls Awesome had decided this kit was delivered to them with an incorrect pitch (was also told the bolts were the wrong length to begin with) on the bolts thread that hold the flywheel/unit in place. This apparently was letting oil through which was contaminating the pressure plate and causing the slip. I was firstly offered an upgrade to a Helix Clutch but I'd have to pay the difference as they couldn't seem to sort this. Possibly stupidly I agreed. I was then called to say it's ok we've managed to get to the bottom of the problem and we're replacing (I think) the nuts and using different ones so you wont be having a Helix clutch fitted after all. I was then phoned to say the car would be done and I could collect it saturday. I picked the car up and was told it was fine and it had been tested a few times by the technicians. Unfortunately it's not and it's still slipping, admittedely it's far better but still slipping. Do you guys have any suggestions on what might be causing the problem and also what would you do? Awesome is 237 miles each way so currently I've clocked up over 1400 miles going backwards and forwards. So there's the cost of fuel. I also had to refuel the courtesy car I had for the week. Add to that 7 days of holiday from work and even more annoyingly I have a limit of 5000 miles on my insurance. I've used getting close to 1/3 of that just driving to Awesome so will have to pay for more mileage! Hopefully this wont be too expensive! I've not had any offer of compensation for my troubles. I am reluctant to drive all the way there again so I dont know what to do for the best. I was thinking along the lines of getting them to pay for the car to taken there on a trailer as why should I put another 450 miles on the clock. This will be the 4th attempt to sort the problem so i have lost all faith! The only positive thing is I have fully resolved the power issue. She's up to 330ft/lbs of torque at 2900rpm, however I cant bloomin' use it because of the clutch... Very unhappy! All serious suggestions welcomed Many thanks Jack
  10. Big thanks to Karl (Korban) for letting me try his MAF. Sadly this made no difference to the car so has ruled that out. Thanks for the replies guys but all sorted with regards the MAF.
  11. Hi all, as some of you may have read I've been having a few problems with my Skoda Fabia vRS. I've managed to resolve my boost hose issues and think I've finally managed to sort that. The car is running a lot better than it was but still not pushing as much power as it should. I still think there is something not right with the MAF sensor. I've disconnected it and taken the car for a drive. The car is no worse or any better. All it managed to do was lower my MPG. Hence there may be an issue with it. My favour to ask would anyone in the Swansea/Cardiff area be prepared to let me try the one from their car on mine, I would take you for a drive in the car for 10 minutes to see if the car runs any better. Return back to your car and refit it. My air filter is very clean so no crap would run through it in the short time we'd test it. I would really appreciate it as I'm not 100% sure this is the problem before I fork out for a new one from Skoda. Any help much appreciated Forgot to mention, if it makes a difference my engine is a BLT.
  12. Problem found!!! One leaking boost hose. Very slight but air escaping from the seal from the pipe joining the second pipe from the turbo. First oppourtunity I've had to get the car on ramps and very easy to spot. One new rubber O-ring purchased, fingers crossed this sorts it or it's a new pipe. Typical it would have to be the only metal boost hose and they're quite expensive! Ohh well, glad I've got to the bottom of it. Thanks for your help and advice people.
  13. Around 500 miles normally but on a long steady drive with slightly higher tyre pressures I see over 600 miles to a full tank.
  14. Yeah I've done about 500 miles of mixed driving now and it's still no good. It's definitely not right.
  15. Thanks gac. If fitted correctly in the first place then this wouldn't have been a problem. I was told to keep driving it for a week and that it should sort itself out. I know it's not uncommon for them to slip initially hence driving steadily. At what point though do you think that's enough miles it must be working fine now i'll just put my foot down and check. I've done this a few times and yes it slips. Will have to see what they say but still think they should fit one anyway for the inconvenience just incase it has been damaged by the miles I have to cover going back there.
  16. Yeah bad luck indeed. I wouldn't have minded as much if it wasn't such a bloomin' distance to travel, 1000 miles of driving wasted! Yeah it's their own clutch and flywheel which I was told would be more than adequate to handle the torque my car should be running. If it was running 310ft-lbs as it should be it would have ripped it to pieces! It should be ok in 3rd, fingers crossed, lol. I will still PM you at dinner but I will test the car later and then tell you if it does slip. IF it does then this may have to wait till another weekend. Going back to Awesome next Friday (the 13th!!! Which doesn't bode well) to have the matter rectified. Do you guys feel I should ask for a new clutch plate. If it is slipping would this cause sufficient damage to shorten its lifespan? When I rang I did mention about a new plate to which they replied they'll need to look at it first. So yes back to the point, I will test in 3rd gear later and hope for the best
  17. Joshh I shall send you a PM on my lunch break, I would be very grateful thank you : ) and yes it's no problem for me to get to Cardiff on Sunday. Slight issue as I will have to drive fairly steadily as there's an issue with my brand new uprated clutch and flywheel. The clutch is slipping in 5th and 6th throughout the whole rev band when using anything over mid throttle. You've guessed it, I've gotta go all the way back to Manchester to have this looked at. Not paying good money and then pay someone else to fix it. Hopefully they'll be good enough to fit a new clutch plate seeing as this one will be worn from it slipping. Will this affect the logs? I hope not!!!

  19. Final question could this be caused by a faulty throttle position sensor? I did read some where this can cause a loss of torque but you still make max bhp. Unsure if this is the case. The car does rev at idle which could mean a faulty TPS. However I cured this using a bungee cord to apply a little pull back on the pedal instead of using my toe each time. Is it possible this could be it? Thanks
  20. Thanks guys. Will try the MAF sensor first. If that doesn't work I will get the car read for fault codes. If Still nothing then I'll be looking at a pressure test on the boost hoses and cleaning out the turbo vanes, Thanks
  21. That's who's tuned it previously. I've been there twice now and both times the torque has been the wrong side of 300ft-lbs. In Got Boost's defence I was running a standard clutch, thus needing to keep the torque down. The second trip I did ask for it to be pushed and if the clutch did go I'd go and replace it. So yeah I believed he was being conservative as to not destroy the clutch. It would appear there is an underlying problem somewhere and they were unaware of it and didn't bring anything to my attention. As mentioned the only thing I can remember was a confused look on his face and he though he'd hit the limit on the MAF sensor. Still baffled.
  22. Dont get me started on Awesome! This was a 500 mile round trip. I arrived at 8.45am and the car was taken it. It wasn't until around 4.00pm and the car was lowered and the installation of the new clutch and flywheel was complete. Just after 4.00 the car was put on the rollers. Then about 5.30 they came and told me there was an underlying fault with the car and they didn't have time to investigate it. They also didn't have a clue as to what could cause such a problem. So yes I went away very happy that I've travelled all that way to what I was told are a great company to use. I was there the whole of 9hrs in their waiting room and not once did anyone come and give me an update with what was happening. Gonna leave it at that! The engine in mine has the ASZ code. I am able to try (before I buy) a new MAF sensor so shall give this a go out of curiosity first. Failing that I will be on the hunt for some one/garage with vcds to check it that way. If it makes any difference I have an EGR delete pipe fitted but have been unsuccessful at getting the dash warning light to stay off.
  23. devonutopia – Yes, definitely 100%, 215bhp and 260ft-lbs of torque. It’s made 215bhp on 2 different rolling roads. joe_vrs_tdi – Joe, I took my car in for a new clutch and flywheel along with a custom re-map. The clutch was done and the car put on the rollers. They ran the car to see what is was running and were a little confused as the car made 215bhp but 267ft-lbs. To rule out the mapping they took a map used on a similar vehicle running an identical turbo to mine. With this new map it made the same bhp but slightly less torque at 260 ft-lbs. So in short it was copied from another vehicle. They put my old may back on and off I went back to Swansea mr rooney – I think I’ll try a new MAF sensor from Skoda anyway just to rule this out. Would be worth a try. The one on the car at the mo has done 90k so is probably a little tired anyway. This peak torque was rather high up the rev band and close to the 3500rpm mark I think. This was how the car was originally mapped as I’d asked for more power higher up the rev-band to preserve my clutch a little. I presumed the torque was limited some-what as it was originally running the standard clutch hence wanting power after the 2000rpm mark. Upon reflection this underlying problem might have been there all along. I do remember the original mapper (not your man at Awesome) saying something about reaching the limit of the MAF sensor. I know these sensors when working properly should allow the car to reach way over the figures mine is pushing. So this is another reason to suspect the MAF. He didn’t say anything more about that and I’d forgotten all about it. Now I have my uprated clutch I wanted to bring the torque right up. I don’t have access to vcds unfortunately. Might be worth finding somewhere I can have the car checked for any fault codes. I’ve had enough of garages charging you to scan your car only to tell you there’s nothing showing as being wrong with it! Very annoying. I may look into buying VCDS as would be worth while in the long run. But I cant afford to do that right away. Ohh the other issue which might be relevant is I’ve twice tried to have garages remove the warning light (the one that stays on after you first remove the EGR Valve). This has been unsuccessful as the light has come back on. I do believe this is also the light that would indicate a MAF sensor issue, is that correct? Many thanks to all Jack
  24. Can anyone offer any possible suggestions to my problem? I do apologise if this issue has already been discussed elsewhere. My car is currently putting out 215bhp but is down on torque as is only running 260ft-lbs. These figures were taken from Awesome's Rolling Road. It is running a Turbo Dynamics stage 2 hybrid along with a forge front mounted intercooler and straight through exhaust system. The map was taken from a similar car with the same turbo, this car made 215bhp but 310 ft-lbs of torque! Unfortunately Awesome didn't have time to investigate the problem. My thought may have been down to the MAF sensor. Would this be a good place to start? I have ran the car briefly without the MAF sensor attached and things felt pretty similar, it certainly wasn't any quicker. It is quite difficult to tell as the car is still fairly fast when it's down on power. Any ideas will be greatfully received. Jack
  25. I've unplugged the MAF sensor connector and been on a decent run out. This has cured the smoking problem. There's a hell of a lot less smoke coming out the back now so I think you're right and it will need replacing. Power is no better (but is slightly smoother) but I presume it wont be until a new sensor is fitted. Before I spend money on a new sensor I will get the car checked using vagcom just to make sure but it seems that's the problem Thanks a lot Jack
