  1. Thanks, will check that as well. There is a good chance that they have been disturbed as the wiring loom was chased last year in order to find a common earth fault (that stopped the Climatronic working at all). 6 days in a main dealer to solve the problem. Thankfully, they did it for free. The salesman had told me the Skoda approved warranty was as good as a new car warranty, so when a fault on the loom was discovered, you can imagine the discussions when I was told it was at my cost. They came up trumps in the end though. Thanks
  2. I've just been out and checked it over. The fuse is fine. When switched from Econ to Auto, the inner wheel does not spin on the compressor drive. Should it be visibly spinning or is this not easily visible (i.e. hidden)? If it should, what are the possible causes? Faulty switch Failed clutch mechanism Any others? Pollen filter does need changing.
  3. Hi, My air con has recently stopped working. Earlier in the year, I had the same problem and took it to check the gas. When tested, the gas was fine and pressure dropped on demand as it should. The guy then looked down at the front of the engine housing, presumably noticed something was loose and connected it. Hey presto, it worked. Does anybody know what this was and where it is located? If it had come loose once, I'm sure it could again. Other possible causes: Needs re-gas - Not likely as one day it was fine, the next it wasn't working Pipe failure - possible Fuse blown - must check this, being lazy Compressor failure - anybody have any idea on the replacement cost? The fan speed is pathetic and I remember misting problems earlier in the year without the dehumidifying effect of a/c. So, if it has failed, I will need to replace it. Thanks for any help Steve
  4. Updated after car purchase. You find out how good a dealer is when you need help with a fault. Well, I can say that MSB are............fantastic. Usual secondand warranty didn't cover the fault but they fixed the car for me. Four days labour and a big strip down job for free.I'd recommend them without reservation. I don't normally service my car at main dealers, but I will this time to repay them for their excellent service.
  5. Bought a 54 plate Octavia vRS with 20,000 miles on it three weeks ago. Price seemed reasonable, doing a deal was easy, with not too much messing about. Part of the deal was to get cambelt changed if it needed it. Salesman wasn't sure, but did my own research after picking car up. Found it needed doing. At this point I was expecting a boat load of hassle, despite the cambelt request being on the order form. To my surprise though, there were no problems, car was booked in, courtesy car arranged and job done. Staff are friendly and helpful. I would recommend them. As with all things, be clear on what you want and there shouldn't be many problems.
