  1. The tapping noise under the dash coming from the Climate Control flaps is back. I have followed the advice of the forum, which helped for a while and got my dealer to fix under Warranty, which lasted a few months. Just had it in for MOT and asked them to fix again whilst still under warranty, they said they cannot fix it. Are they telling fibs?. The warranty has only a week to go now, should I talk to dealer to try harder and continue to look at it free until fixed, even though warranty my have run out. Advice guy please
  2. All fixed thanks to "Leatherfix" of Burnley @£85 on site. Had to get the colour mixed but all OK now - would recommend to you all
  3. Leatherfix man comes tomorrow to sort me out - I'll let you know how it goes
  4. The first picture is a before with the nail varnish. The second is after I cleaned it off with - started with soapy water then flash etc. Then white spirit, then petrol, then CIF, finally my wife remembered she had some nail varnish remover pads. That did it but too late I had taken the top coat off the seat. Stitching is fine it's just the picture is poor.
  5. I bought a cig lighter from an accesory shop, wired into an ignition on only live from fusebox taped the cig lighter plug into the new socket to make sure it did not come out or rattle and then ran the TT lead up the side of the dash under the door seal under the A pillar cover and out of the front of the A pillar cover.- works for me!
  6. Tried them first but don't do repairs - only to their own fits Thanks anyway
  7. Due to some spilt nail varnish and my attempts to get it off my New (3 months) old Ivory Leather seat now has a light coloured mark on it. Anyone know of a repairer in the Leeds area
  8. NO - Just ordered a Vectra - deal was £2000 less No squeaky seat, no bobbling cloth, no grinding brakes
  9. Well, I'm sorry guys but I said it would probably not be a Skoda next time and it won't be Just ordered a Vectra 1.9CDTI (150) Exclusiv, with discounts only cost me
  10. The car has been fine but, I have had too many problems with the upholstery. drivers seat recovered twice, back seats recovered and a number of other mechanical problems which I have had to fight to get fixed every time. DEaler has been good, its Skoda UK their attitude stinks. I have run Skodas for 6 years now and only recently have Skoda started to take this attitude with warranty claims. The beginning of a slippery slide to mediocrity, until they are just like all the others. Poor customer service, do not care about the customer, pile em high and sell at an high price.
  11. Just got a letter back from SMMT - they think Skoda have been reasonable, therefore uphold Skoda's decision. The seats have frayed because I have been mis-using them i.e sitting on them!!!!!!!!!!!!! This has put me right off Skoda. Oh well, my search for a new car will commence soon and I get dump this piece of junk.
  12. Have you restricted access to your router using MAC Address tables
  13. Good luck with Skoda UK - usually deny there is a problem - fighting them at the moment - on my third recover in 18 months 46K miles
  14. I have had mine replaced twice already - as you see above refused a third time - Car registered 01/03/05. I suggest you try anyother dealer - Mine Bickerton's of Sheffield have been great and supportive. Only the Pratts at Customer Service who are being stupid.
  15. Anyone know where I can get a new replacement n/s back light cluster for my 05 Furby vRS (White C style) Skoda quoting 44.59 inc VAT -
  16. Well, well, well guess what - Letter from customer services rec'd today. Sorry cannot accept your warranty claim. Must be how I get into the car or the clothes I wear. i.e MY FAULT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Sorry didn't know you were not supposed to sit on the seats. OK - the fight goes on, SMMT & Motoring press now. NO-ONE CONS A YORKSHIRE MAN. I will not be beat.
  17. Letter of complaint just got off to SCS and SMMT, copy to dealer. enclosed a copy of this thread too. Not a known problem!!! First time come across this!!! Must be wearing abrasive clothing - Eh!!!! How do they (Skoda) think these excuses up change the seat cloth, accept responsibility and get your reputation back
  18. Would have said yes except for the seat cloth problem on the Fabia vRS. On my 3rd recover in 15 months/40K miles and Skoda have just refused to replace under warranty again. Guess I need to start looking around at other makes:thumbdwn:
  19. Well here we go again - Took my Furby vRS into the dealers for its 40K service and asked them to look at my seat again as the bobbles are back - i'm on my 3rd re-cover now. Car bought new 01/03/2005. Just had a call from Skoda Customer Service to say they will not replace under warranty again. The guy "Tony" spoke to my wife and apparently was a right little ****. When I got home I rang his manager - Tracy - no reason given for turning down my claim other than they have already done it before and it must be me doing something wrong as a cloth problems on the seats is not a known problem. As you can guess I am fuming. This thread alone proves them wrong. My wife did mention that they should take a look but Tony said under no circumstances would he do so as it is an unofficial site and means nothing. Apparently I can appeal to SMMT and I will and write to every car mag in the land and newspaper etc.. I can think of. Quick thought - Could anyone who has had this problem and engaged with Skoda on it, please add your name to a list below. So I may quote a number of times Skoda have been told about this problem in the past by Briskoda members alone. Thanks guys & gals More later

  21. Take a look at the TalkTalk deal -
  22. I do too many miles and change my cars too often to go for options - I change every 18 months, by which time I have usually done around 60K. I have had around 20 cars in my driving lifetime (35 years) - first time I have had trouble with seat material
