  1. After spending some time with it, i finally gave up. Took it to the dealer and they pinched open the old lock and replaced it with a new one.
  2. Quick question on this topic, Can you disconnect the electricals to take the throttle body? Will this cause any issues with throttle body alignment? Cheers, N
  3. Dear Briskodians I have a skoda fabia 2003 1.4l. The passenger side rear door seems to be jammed. It doesnt open using the remote and even if i try to open it from inside using the latch it doesnt open. Any ideas on how can i have it opened. I have managed to open up the plastic panel, rear window and the inside metal panel. But still i am not able to get the lock opened. Any suggestions? Many thanks. cheers, Nebu
  4. Since i was fiddling with the fuses because of the starting trouble with my car (refer to the topic: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/379173-skoda-fabia-14-wont-start-and-beeps-when-lights-are-switched-on/#entry4446078) now, i think the airbag light has come up. I am wondering if there is anybody around my place with a VAG com reset tool who can help me with reseting of this code.
  5. So, here goes the results. The issue was down to one of the fuses that activates the instrument panel. It was not set in properly. I took each and every fuse and checked and found that this was loosely places. replaced it and it was ok.
  6. I took my car to a Skoda dealer and they changed the Lambda sensor on Bank2 and it passed emission tests and no problem with the MOT. I guess this local garage was trying to do a rip off. Thanks a lot.
  7. Recently i was checking one of the fuse on my car and after the checks, i can see that the Airbag lights have come up. I have read in this forum that this can be reset by using a VAGCOM device. Is there a self diagnostic repair sequence that can be used to reset the code. Mine is a 2003 Skoda Fabia 1.4 Elengance. Many thanks folks.
  8. Dear Skodian's I have a Skoda Fabia 1.4 16V 2003 plate. The car was ok today morning. Evening, when i started the car it wont start, it tries to start and then it doesnt kick start. When i switch the ignition on, usually, the lights on the instrument panel comes on and goes of. This time it is not happening. Again, when i switch on the headlight, it starts a continuous beeping sound. Any clues?? Warm regards Nebu
  9. Dear Briskodians I have a Skoda Fabia 1.4 Petrol. It has done around 88,000 Miles and it is a May 2003 model. During my MOT this year, it has failed on the Emission tests. It was with the garage guys for close to 10 days and now they are telling me that the ECU is having problem and it may have to be changed. The cost of this getting fixed is going to be more than £1000. they changed the Lambda sensor, checked throttle body and sensors and most of the fuel related parts and they could not bring the emissions down. I am wondering if this is really an issue on Skoda vehicles. Has anybody come across such issues? Do i have to write off my car now? I had this car for around 6 years and it never had any big issues like this? Do you think a remapping of ECU will help? Many thanks for your suggestions. warm regards NM
  10. Fellow Members, As i was driving past a curve last night, there was a beep and i saw this Engine oil pressure light come up. It beeped for some seconds and then went off. I was a bit surprised and so i checked my oil level the next day morning before taking my car and it was all fine. Again, the same things happened two times, and this happens only when i am taking sharp bends and if the car is going bit fast. Looks like a warning light for sharp bends Have anybody come across this situation? Now i am driving slowly in the bends but then i am wondering what might be the cause and impacts? any advice and help is much appreciated. cheers, nebu
