Has anyone changed the aux belt tensioner on a 2.0 tsi ccz engine code ordered a new tensioner but cant understand how its fitted

2010 vrs 2.0tsi sounds like its got a supercharger there is a high pitched electric whine garage have replaced the alternator and belt thinking it was that delivered the car back and it still the same cant hear the noise when on idle but rev it and it whines anyone else experienced this?

Hope someone may be able to help just bought a 2010 octavia vrs with 44k but I have noticed a really strange noise when revved or under load the noise sounds like a electric motor whine it's been back to the garage to have a new alternator fitted as they suspected that was the culprit but it's still the same my neighbour thought it was supercharged lol so it's quiet a Loud noise Can anyone help??????

Basicly i bought a cambelt kit and water pump from gsf as i were goin to do it myself then i was told its not so simple on the vrs so a local garage who i were recomended to said they would fit the kit etc for £160+ vat took it friday when i picked it up the tech said theres a bit of knocking coming from the altenator i think??????????? obviously this was not there before the belt was done he said it would probably dissapear, anyway a week later its still there but only when then engine is warm so me and a pal looked at it last night we took the alt belt off and the noise is still there so that eliminated the aux side of it, took the timing cover partialy off and the new belt has a few frays along the edge and the noise is defiinatly coming from the cambelt area it a bearing related noise but the garage are saying its either the water pump or the tensioner and if i go and get another kit they will fit it at the cost of £160+vat as they dont work for free its doing my head in as i could of had it done a skoda for less than what its cost me now just wondered if anyone else had experienced problems when they have had the belt changed

I have just had the belt and waterpump done on my vrs as the car has just tojuched 50k problem i have now is a sstrange noise coming from behind the timing cover its a rotating noise that only happens when warm the prts were from gsf car parts but now the garage are saaying there not sure so there going to have to do the job all over again and bill me again

can anyone recomend so direct replacement speakers as mine are not very good i want something thats not going to be mega expensive but just a bit better sound

hi joined up last week we have just aquired a very clean low mileage octavia vrs 1.8t in silver only had it 3 days then had a custom code remap that some may of heard i have had a few issues with but apart from that we are buzzing of the octavia

had the map done last saturday drove 50 there at 36mpg the same journey home we got 23.1mpg but harder driving following day drove about the same distance steady 60mph with cruise on thats when we struggled to get 25mpg the car has done 100 mile since, no faults were found before and nothings coming up now, im actually thinking of having it put back to standard as now a phase 1 remap has ended up costing me £500

im not happy they told me it wasnt a fault with anything they have done its a hardware problem with my car, and they dont work for free so if i want it sorted i pay the hourly rate and whatever it costs to fix it what i dont understand is the car ran mint and was superb on fuel before, dont get me wrong it drives so much better but i here so many people say that a remap improves mpg then theres mine lol if you drive it like miss daisy 30mph in 5th everywhere it starts to creep to about 26mpg but that it where as before i were getting 30+ even got 42mpg from a 200 mile steady trip back from brighton dont think i can afford to go there again now lol

replaced the maf for a brand new one and cant really say i have noticed a difference? custom code want to charge me to look at the car wich i think is disgusting after i just spent £350 with them ok my car boost well but id expect it to be a rocket doing 24mpg lol i cant justify paying them to look at it because it was fine before the remap since the map i have bought a temp sender and maf as they advised these could be the problem that put me £120 out of pocket now they want more money to sort it?

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh back down to 24.7 mpg drove the car this morning and it feels like it did before i cleaned the maf :( do i bite the bullet and buy a new maf?

cleaned the maf last night and the car pulls like a train now th empg has risen aswell

what size are the 2 torx fittings on the sensor itself?

well since my cc ph1 remap the mpg has dropped drasticly to 24.7mpg thats nursing it in 5th with cruise on at 65mph on a 45mile trip

i wouldnt mind borrowing the kit to do my vrs and cupra r im in alfreton so not to far away?

i have been told i have to give it a few days for the remap to settle down and let the ecu relearn also that the trip isnt accurate after a map? do the words fobbed off come to mind?

been on vag com no faults found i have checked all the boost hoses vac hoses there fine so somethings a miss somewhere hopefully getting it back to cc today

now the car is idiling lumpy and its stressing me out big time

the car was getting mid 30s before the remap custom code have told me 25 is very low and its probaly a faulty sensor what i cant understand is it was fine before the remap?

Hi guys my vrs has a custom code phase remap with forge 007 and green panel filter and im not happy with the mpg i know its been mapped but they claim there remap improves mpg? before the remap i was getting low 30s i even got high 30s on a run now im struggling to get 25mpg thats on a run? surely this cant be right?

Does anyone have a clue to the paint code or what colour the original vrs calipers are painted in as i want to refurb mine regards daz

Its not felt through the steering wheel just the whole car :(

Hi i have just registered as im the proud owner of a octvia vrs its a 03 with 41k and a very clean car i have had it 2 days and last night on the motorway i got to a certain speed not exceeding 100mph and the car began to shake? its worried me a little as i have only just had it any ideas? regards Darren
