  1. Sorry for wasting time, but we're going to keep hold of the Skoda for another year or so - The car my wife wanted was a bit too far out of reach in all honesty so the Skoda is staying for now :-)
  2. Thanks guys, the car has been completely faultless and is just such a good drive I'll be really sad to see it go!
  3. Time has come to move on our beloved Octavia VRS! It has 62k miles with full service history and just 2 weeks ago had the following done with all genuine VAG parts: Cambelt, Water pump, fuel filter, oil & filter, spark plugs, pollen filter, 2 x new Bridgestone rear tyres and is basically good to go for another 12 months / 10k miles. It was mapped by Shark Performance at 40k miles to 250bhp with a Milltek cat back exhaust (resonated) so not loud at all. It also had a new clutch and flywheel at the same time at around costing around £2k all in. I'll also put 1 years MOT on the car before selling. Spec wise it has 18" Skoda Golus wheels, lowered on H&R Springs (originals with the car too) Xenons, CD changer, cruise control, climate control, aux-in, rear parking sensors. It wants for nothing and is a very nice drive and plenty quick enough for most people and ticks all the boxes as a fantastic family car. £5695 ono - Located in Newbury, Berkshire Nick - 07920 867771 [email protected]
  4. Managed to give the car a bit of much needed TLC:
  5. Sorry only just saw this! I got the parts through my account with TPS and yeah pretty easy to fit really, I think they look way better too!
  6. Better pics showing the drop now too:
  7. Next up something I've been meaning to do for ages, update the badges to go with the Wheel centre caps. The old ones are ok, but mine had started to corrode around the edges so I thought I may as well buy the newer version. Replaced: The rest have been done but I need to find the pics :-)
  8. I came back to the Octavia VRS having had a nice 56 plate Estate a couple of years back but I always regretted selling it! This time I found a nice Hatch, with 50k miles that was actually owned by a fellow Briskoda Member who I understand has actually moved abroad now but I don't know his user name on here. The car is a 57 plate and has been very well looked after. I've got a list of things I'd like to do to it but so far it's on the right path (IMO of course) LED lights all round H&R 55mm Springs Skoda 18" Golus Alloys 15mm spacers on the rear Shark Stage 1 Map Milltek Cat Back Exhaust A few changes on interior bits but nothing too major yet! Here's a few pics anyway as it stands today (desperately needing some TLC on the paintwork when I get time)! (Before the Spacers and springs)
  9. So how much are new Discs if you're not including them now? You've knocked off £50 but I'd like to know how much it's going to be for the new discs ideally, plus you may as well keep the old pads as it seems criminal to put used pads against new fresh discs?
  10. Lovely, I know how picky you are and these will be perfect and exactly as described! I'd have gone for these if my budget had been stretchy enough ;-)
  11. Thanks guys, my mate popped up last night (he's an all round Car audio / mechanic / interior re-trimmer etc) and has way more experience with taking things apart like this, within 5 mins he had the glovebox out and with the air con running as the flap lifted up he could see something in the fan, as it slowed down it was definitely white. He turned the car off, managed to get his hand in there and pull out a Car park ticket from 2013 (prev owner) so I guess it must have slipped down the back of the windscreen or something :-) I was just so pleased this was all that was wrong, I am pretty sure most garages would have probably just changed the fan without even checking so it has potentially saved me a fortune! Thanks again!
  12. Afternoon all, I've only had my car around 3 weeks and all has been great so far, until last night. I got in the car to drive home and when turning the air con down as the fans started to increase in speed there was a vibration noise that quickly got louder with each increase in speed of the fan, at flat out the noise is loud enough to hear from outside the car and is just like a deep vibration sort of sound, almost like if something is unbalanced, I've searched the forum and all I can find are Air con related threads but this is more the physical fan / blower from what I can tell. Is it possible that a blade could have broken off or something like that?
