  1. Thanks, I have found one on SuperSkoda website but i will contact my dealer to find out if they are any cheaper.
  2. Hi, I had a wee shunt in my non fl Vrs and now I need a new front grill, it's just the black plastic bit. I have searched on ebay but there is nothing and a quick search online was unsuccessful. Does anyone know where I could get this part and how easy it is to replace it? Thanks in advance.
  3. Hello and welcome to the forum. I think you should be looking for at least 4k for your car, I recently bought a car and found you have to really play them of against each other, so go to other garages find out what they are offering. The figures you quote for finance total £21405 as the £3000 from your car would presumably be used as a deposit. This is maybe a wee bit dear, why don't you ask the dealer if he can do 0% finance. If the dealer can do this and give you 4K for your car you will pay £278 per month for 48 months with no final payment. At the end of the day it cames down to what you can afford but paying a garage £6855 for a car that I had been paying for 42 months would certainly stick in my throat. All the best in your search for a new car.
  4. Hi all, I thought I would share my thoughts on my new car as I have now owned it for 2 weeks. The car was one of the motorpoint ones and is the vrs cr tdi in race blue and it looks lovely especially when its clean! I traded in my Audi A3 which was a petrol for this car as I fancied a bit more performance and with diesel being the same price as petrol it was a no brainer to go for an oil burner. The interior of the car is pretty classy with the seats being very comfortable and they also help to show the sporty aspirations of the car with vrs logos. There are some parts of the interior where the Audi was better, the glovebox in the Skoda just feels cheap and also the plastic mock chrome interior door handles. Apart from these minor quibbles the Skoda is a nice car inside and reminds of another of my previous cars, a VW Golf, most importantly it is free of rattles and is well made with mostly very good and tactile materials. The boot is massive in this car and much bigger than my sportback a3 and there is plenty of storage space with lots of nooks and crannies. The exterior styling is also impressive being kind of understated, which I like as I am a bit old to be a boy racer, with only the small vrs badges on the front and rear and the twin exhaust showing that it is a flying machine. The engine is great I have only done around 500 miles on it and it has loads of power and at motorway speeds it is only slighly noiser than my previous cars. The power is fantastic from 2000rpm and above it just pulls like a train. I think you can feel a bit of a transition when the turbo kicks, below 2000rpm it just cruise along then put your foot down a bit and you just get pinned back on the seat as it accelerates away. At start up it is a wee bit loud but as said you soon get used to it. Probably the best thing of owning one is the smug sense of satisfaction you get when you see a VW or Audi and you know that they paid a hell of a lot more for what is essentially the same car. All in all I am very pleased with the car and am glad I went for this rather than the Golf GTD which was £7000 dearer.
  5. Parks of Hamilton have a brand new VRS TDI LE in stock at 17500 as I looked at it before I bought mine from motorpoint for 15,000. Hope this helps.
  6. Thanks for the help. I think it must be daytime running lights, there is nothing in the manual about it but as it is an inport from Ireland so it may have a slightly different spec from the UK mpdels. I will speak to a dealer to confirm this and let you all know the outcome. Thanks again.
  7. Yeah it must be daytime running lights as it isn't the main light just the wee ones to the side of it which light up. I suppose their must be a way of turning this off?
  8. Hi all I have been looking at this forum for the last few weeks whilst I was researching getting a new car. Well I finally picked up my new VRS TDI today in race blue and it is really fantastic. The car was one of the motorpoint ones at £14995 and despite it only having a 2yr warranty it really was too good a bargain to miss out on and drives great but the diesel engine will take a bit of getting used as this is my first diesel. I don't know if it is frowned upon to ask questions on your first post but nothing ventured nothing gained. On my car the lights are always on even when the switch is at 0 is this normal, I know Volvo are designed to do this but my last car which was a A3 didn't do this and I have read the manual but it does not mention it anyway I am a bit stumped so all help appreciated.
