vRS 4 wheel alignment, Swindon area
trebormint replied to a topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I used the 2 year deal from kwik fit in swindon. Very useful as if they can't adjust the rears due to seized bolts at least you can get the arms replaced and the tracking redone for free -
I need to replace steering rack on my 2006 2.0 tdi 16v. I understand that it's electric, do I just need to make sure I get the same part number? Any coding required? I do have vcds.

Radiator replacement help
trebormint replied to FatblokeVRS's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I did this only last week, was losing coolant regularly. took fan pack off, and noticed radiator was very wet at the top. I purchased the hella one along with coolant from Eurocarparts with their usual discount. The hose connectors can be quite tough to remove. top wasn't too bad, but struggled with the bottom one. in the end I disconnected the bottom hose, removed radiator then pulled the connector off - much easier than struggling with it in situ. Fan pack, and radiator out from the top, Didn't need to replace any of the hoses. -
My 2.0 tdi failed its mot on having no cat last week. I was told it was now illegal to have no cat and/or dpf in place. And not just for an MOT either.

4 wheel alignment do we need it?
trebormint replied to bmhill's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I had 4-wheel alignment done at formula one after doing the front and rear hubs on one side. They printed a report off first and showed me the front was way out and the rears were out too. After adjustments, printed off another report. car drives and feels so much better on the road. though it was not cheap to have it done. -
