  1. Hey Everyone. The problem i'm having is with my 2000 Fabia 1.4 comfort. This car has been faultless since I purchased it about 2 years ago. Approx 4 weeks ago I serviced the car myself, as I did last year. IE: Changing oil, oil filter and air filter. However when I jacked the car down and started driving the brakes started playing up. At first I thought I might have overfilled the car with oil or something as it was driving as if it was stuck in mud (on the way to work) so I parked for work and then left the office 8 hours later to drive home.. There was no problem at first with the brakes then after about 10 mins of driving the brake peddle became harder and harder to press and when I did brake, it felt as if the brakes were still part on. Making it hard to drive home. I eventually made it home and didn't use the car the next day as I was a bit worried about it and thought if I left it it might settle down and be ok. The next day I drove again to work and the same thing happened, only this time the brakes got so tight that the car stopped and i was unable to drive, it felt as if the handbrake was on full. I had to call my brakedown to get home and they recovered the car etc. That was the last time I used it. That was 4 weeks ago, it's been in the garage since and they are unable to find out what is wrong with it, they said initially it was the ABS pump. I purchased a replacement part that was working fine and it's doing the same thing, so must be something else? Any feedback or ideas would be great, the garage are totally out of ideas and i really don't know what to do next. Thanks in advance
  2. Hello, I'm in need of these springs too, I have the darn binding issue!! Can you tell me where you ordered them? Thanks
  3. Hi, I'm having a re-occuring problem here which is going to end up in my car being stolen or something! Basically when I lock my car probably about 60% of the time it locks fine, and the lttle red light by the drivers door locking pin flashes to show it's correctly locked. However the other 40% of the time the light doesn't show. I try unlocking and re-locking the doors but it just won't show - I'm not sure this is related to the problem that follows but it's the only thing I can link to it: anyway, it seems when the red light doesn't flash and I lock the doors about an hour - 2 hours later both front windows will fully open and the locks pop open! This is a serious problem as you can see and seems to be happening more and more often probably about 5 times in the last week. I've kept checking on the car every hour or so and the windows are up, then when I got up this morning my neighbour knocked to tell me both windows are fully open and it's raining... If someone can give some advice that would be great. I've tried removing the central locking fuse but the boot stays unlocked if I do that.. Thanks in advance craig
  4. Thanks for the information guys! I'll try this tomorrow. One more question, as with the fuse can you tell me where the fuse is for the central locking? I was told it was the top left fuse in the panel. I need to get myself a haynes book to locate various fuses! Not sure if there should have been a legend above the fuse box but there's just an empty gap. Thanks in advance
  5. Hello! I'm new to this forum so appologies if I posted this in the wrong place. I have been bought a Fabia (2000 W Reg) as my old car was on it's way out! I can honestly say I am very impressed with it, very good quality all round, drives great and engine works a charm. However i've come to discover a problem with the central locking, It's pretty tempremental, for example: When the passenger side door is closed with moderate force from the outside, the other 3 doors will lock, passenger door remaining unlocked. When I push the lock button on the drivers door inside, all the doors will lock apart from the passenger door, then a few seconds later they will all unlock (i'm assuming because the passenger door one didn't go down) then after a few lock/unlocks they will all go down. Also when I drive the doors lock when I pull away (which I assume is meant to happen) then a few moments later they will unlock and re-lock and continue doing so at various intervals while i'm driving. Recently in the mornings the central locking won't work at all when I use the key to unlock the drivers door, it will meerly unlock the drivers door and the rest will remain locked. I should mention when I lock the car from the drivers door using the key, all the doors lock no problem. Help would be appreciated as to how to fix this. Thanks!
